Finally someone says something about it. LOL! Seriously, smoking is a health risk, and people have no bones about others avoiding smokers. There's a damned good reason I've never been heavier (or lighter) than 165 lbs in my life. My wife never over 125. That's likely the exact same reason that we've NEVER been to a hospital for anything other than childbirth or incidental injuries. Maybe we shouldn't avoid people who don't have good dental hygiene. Heck, let's all just wear blindfolds. And plug our noses, for those smelly people. Oh, and plug the ears for people who talk too much, or just talk without a clue. Oh yes, let's also numb our skin so we can't feel those people who have overly-aged, rough skin because of neglect. And, let's numb our tongues, too -- we need to protect the rights of cheap wine.

The right wanted to give money to businesses. The left wanted to give to individuals. Did our republicans skip economics 101? If you're going to stimulate the economy, money MUST go to the CONSUMER. It ends up in the hands of the businesses anyway. The economy is not about money itself -- it's about money that MOVES. Give it to businesses and it sits in the bank. Give it to people and they can spend it whereas that prompts businesses to hire people, make money, and goods to be created to satisfy the greater demands. Businesses with money simply in the bank don't have to increase production as there's no greater demand; they don't have to hire as there is no extra labor needed, etc. And the hiring is the key -- more people make more money, more money is spent. Hence, the economy is stimulated. This is the big "Duh" that the republicans have TOTALLY missed. Some of you may be surprised, but I'm rather pissed at them right now.
