i think usually by default sb emulation isnt checked for on. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

I didnt suggest using ensoniq. how could you use ensoniq when you have a yamaha card. I said just choose the 'sound blaster' option for music or midi. if your yamaha card is supported for digital. click that. but it seems like you got your digital sound tested ok. but its the midi. just do like i said and it'll work. but you have to have 'sb' emulation enabled on your YAMAHA soundcard. dog legacy or whatever. you can check this from control panetl>system>sound video and game controllers and scroll along the tabs of the properties for that, and see if you have sb emulation enabled on your card. if you dont, enable it, then go Bc3k and choose soundblaster as your midi device. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

also your shuttle has to be onboard to check the status of any mining drones. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

Ok i had this problem when I first installed it too. I chose ensoniq sound card for digital sounds. and when i tested it, it played fine, but when chose ensoniq again for midi and tested it, it would freeze. so i just chose sound blaster for midi and it worked. i didn't choose my card even though it supported it directly. you have to make sure your sound card has sound blaster emulation enabled though on my system this is done from, control panel, then double click system. then look for your sound card double click its properties, siff through the tabs at the top till you get to this option and make sure it's ticked for enabled. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

The developer of this game, namely the SC. Does not get money or get paid for the sales of that version. Hence I quite agree with him and his not offering that patch free. Why should his work be free? Instead the v2.0 boxed is the proper one. Whoever is selling those old copies is scamming people, Take 2 or gametek, gametek was taken over, so it must be take2, and of course there's no law barring them from re mastering copies of an old game.

3DFX still doesnt work after reading the FAQ, please help
Cruis. In replied to a topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
Yes the demo can work in 3dfx mode. And I think his is working, it's just it hasn't said it's using the 3d card so he thinks it's not. If you are using the 3dfx shortcut and you see graphics at all. It's using your 3dfx card ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant" -
can't in this current release. but i think maybe you can in BC:M or maybe bc 3020. For a feature list of those products check out the product info page. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

Eh heh? No caste. For example you are Terran/Military terran=your race Military=your caste(what you do) In the CVD if you put it on target camara and target your enemy it'll display that info. I guess you don't know what caste they were then. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

Um, I just wondered how and why I see so little Insurgents around except for at Sygan. or Antis Trenis. It takes courage, and will, and a lot of man power. Shouldn't they be running frequent strikes back and forth between SOL. Around those planets. Shaking up Galcoms security at home. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

Q's about the "fatigue factor", game pause, hyper marines
Cruis. In replied to chizel's topic in Battlecruiser Series
Hello chiz. I'll explain why your men are all the way tired after you've tried to rest them up using the tip of damaging your bc and repairing to speed up time. If you damage you BC enough it means you probably have many hours of repairs to do. So let's say you put all your guys off duty, then go in and repair the BC, which adds 4 hours. What happens is that somewhere during that 4 hours your guys actually get fully rested but they come back on duty again and get tired. Also even if someone is not tired when you go in to repair, they'll be pretty tired when you come out. Here's what you can do, assign everyone to medibay, then go repair and speed up time, medibay works like a hospital, they can't be discharged without permission. (They won't leave on their own and go back to duty) So they won't be able to go back on duty during the accelerated time and they will be rested. Also you don't needto damage your BC that much, because why I used to choose my shuttle to damage instead of the BC to damage is because it's more likely you'll damage something or lots of somethings on the BC which will rack up hours and hours of repair time. It doesn't take 4.5 hours to have all your crew rested to 0 fatigue. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant" -

The manual write up says we are winning the war in space and on earth...if so I think the Insurgents have quite a nice fleet at their disposle, I hope we see more evidence of this in BC:M. more spacestations too... because it doesn't seem that the Insurgents have half the fleet galcom has, so how can we be winning? ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

My sentiments exactly. You don't see Navy submarine commanders paying for the latest mark of torpedo. If galcom actually has this shield technology...linear spec IV, then is it not their priority to give their ships the best protection? If you look at the stats for the Gammulan ships and so on they already seem to have their upgrades. I'm thinking my ship must be the most powerful in all of Galcom. Because I'm the only Galactan BC flying around with 3750 shields. Galcom hq sells the highest shield..why not put it on all ships they build, which can handle it? ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

I think you fire too much because you want too much damage so more time passes. Yeah I tried shooting up my bc one time. It definitely fills your drones up straight away because its systems take quite some time to repair. But I just didn't feel right shooting my ship, and seeing this is a tip for the beginning of the game just to get started, you don't have the money to really repair your battlecruiser, because it's more than likely you're gonna hit something expensive which 90000 can't cover. When everyones tired, I do this too, but usually I have damage sustained from drunk enemy pilots hitting into my BC touching my shining armour. I find that if I set everyone to off duty, go and repair at a station, they've come back on-duty somewhere inbetween that down time and are all tired again. So what I do is I put everyone in sickbay because they can't leave there without being discharged And when I come from repairs everything is fine. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"
-
LOL@Scott Why don't you just turn down the power on your IOD Cannon? So you don't hit the shuttle so hard. I fire 2 shots, get the shuttle to 36 armour damage, then fly it in for repairs. The guy inside is always hurt but has never been killed...sheesh your iod cannon is on drugs steroids or something.. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

If you've been doing the jumps manually, shift+9. Then it won't compute if you don't have a target selected in the CVD computer. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

Yup, it works at galcom now. But this tip is good for the beginning of the game for the first 10 million. Once you get that you start trading. And this way you don't have to sell so much stuff off your BC. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

Heheh! Well I have a P133 and I get slowdowns with the mpak but not when I play galcom free flight. I also tried running the mpak on a friends pentium 3 128 ram system, and it was still at like 2 frames. ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant" [This message has been edited by Cruis. In (edited 01-06-2000).]

No there's no battle occuring. And there like only 5 ships around. I even jump out of the region into somewhere where nothing is, and the frame rate is still low. On the galcom free flight mode this doesn't happen, but it's the Insurgent add-on. ---------------- Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant" [This message has been edited by Cruis. In (edited 01-05-2000).]

Hey this question is for all the Insurgents. Do you find that playing in free flight Insurgent mode using that mpak1 in mission control causes a slow down? Before I started playing as an insurgent using that add on I never experienced such a drop in frame rates. With no ships on the screen, just around Sygan starbase the frames drop to a crawl. This is with 2.09 Final(refresh) and 2.09 mpak1. I also deleted my bc3000ad folder re-installed 2.08 from the CD, applied the patch, and the mpak1 to play as an Insurgent, and it goes to a crawl. But If I play as a galcom it's smooth. Do any of you get this? ------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"
