here is my unorthodox strategy for starbases. I basically do what you did. Except I don't pussy around. I go right at it. No debris fields no nothing. All IC's fully armed and launched. I make double sure to keep them away from the base and draw their fighters away so I can clean up quick with my PTA. In between I stop to fire at those pesky shuttles which come to pick up disabled fighters right before I can kill em. Who the hell gave the order to stop firing on those disabled fighters anyway???? certainly not me. I'll have to talk with my TAC officer. Anyway the pesky shuttles usually get away. WHen all the defenders are dead I land my Ic's and go in real close to the starstation and just let him have it. Note: do not EVEN ATTEMPT to take on a starstation with the default shields you start with. I had the strongest shields. Not only are they strong but they recharge really helluva fast. Fast fast. hey your problem seems quite misleading... with the latest drivers from 3dfx, there seems to be some sort of bug in the glide driver, because when I had v 6 of the drivers installed I never had this problem, but when I updated to 7, this problem came. WHen I run BC once it's ok and plays fine, if I exit the game, and go back in, my monitor goes into standby mode because the v2 card was not refreshed, if you go to control panel>display>your v2 card tab, then click on info you will see all the memory for the card is reading 0. But because you have clicked it now and the screen has refresed...the memory is back and you can open bc3k safely again... but since you said the game is crashing when you start up.. because it is crashing right after the intro I'd say some problem with your chosen drivers...did you create a desktop shortcut and change all the options specified in the faq? ------------------ Commander Cruis.In Spectre Fleet CEO, Sygan Star Station ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"

haha just posted that as I type. I am reading it now. that's a good story he typed up...he basically summed up all the stuff I read about you and bc3k before i bought it... i cant believe but i am about to tell my lame story of how i went in search of a game. but i will summarize it, i played games when i was younger, when i got on the internet i didn't play them as much, then i got back into games few years ago...then somewhere along the line i got fed up of all these stinking games, one or 2 good ones here but once they're finish, they're finished. so i seriously went searching on the net for a great great game, game to end all games, either to download or purchase it, of course since i am a trek fan and sci-fi fan, i wanted it to be in space, and i wanted it to involve a starship.... when i found battlecruiser, i spent days looking up reviews stories,..all the press you guys have seen, i read it all. looked at screenshots, looked at real audio interviews with D .Smart, (he has a cool voice, i thought the english accent was strange because hes american, but then i learnt he spent time in england) after all that i downloaded the demo...THEN i came on here and harassed people about where i buy battlecruiser because they dont sell 'legal' copies of games in my country, anyway finally S.c told me where i could get it and i got it seven days later. so its ironic you created a game to end all games, and i went in search of a game to end all games...later guys! (you must be wondering do i have things to do??? YES, but I LIKE MY GAMES!) specially when i pay big dollars for them...(and when its double my currency) how do you like my story? what do you think? a book next?????
