J.Smith, What format are you using for images? What you say it doesn't format, what do you mean? Do you mean the images don't appear? Because, that's the impression I'm getting from what you've said so far. Netscape or IE should be able to view most common image formats, i.e. bmp, jpg, gif, etc. If that's the problem, then you can just do what has already been said, and download a program or use a graphics program like PSP and save as a different format. One last thing, and this may sound stupid, but did you link your images to the url of where the image is stored, or is it linked to your hd? ------------------ GCV-Transcendence Death before Dishonor

Heh, well this isn't my real name Stone, before you try to flood too many ideas in, you should work out a storyline. From what I've read so far, your current plot is questionable. 1. If you expect the ship to be completed in 150-200 years, you're going to have to add in another century or so to construct a the space/dry dock to build and overhual that thing as well as spend the time to mine and refine the materials you need to build it. 2. Six 12km SLBM? These'll be a bit hard to reload Besides, what stops the enemy from launching the same type of weaposn at you? I do kind of like the two heavy lasers, but they're a bit on the overkill side; scale them down because I really don't see them being used more than once in the entire movie, unless the Zimrat have three or more of those big boats That way you can have Hawkeye cutting up small fleets. Hmm... I think I'm starting to model this after Macross... scratch that least idea hehe 3. Why exactly did Earth build Hawkeye? This taking place millions of years after the destruction of the previous human civilization, would humanity still remember their old nemisis? Which brings up another question. If the previous human civilization was that advanced, why didn't they just destroy the oncoming asteroid? Just because mars doesn't have any remaining ships doesn't mean they can't fire weapons from the planet's surface to redirect the asteroid. Heck, we have the technology to do that now! The Russians have even built an anti-asteriod missile. I think it would be better if you just said that the Zimrat had their own big ship at the time and fired one of their big lasers and extinguished life on the planet. Ok, you've probably had enough of my critizing so I'll start throwing in suggestions. First of all, I think aramike's right about construction being much more expidient in the future. I think 50-100 years is a more reasonable time scale, so Hawkeye's technology doesn't get too outdated. Also, you haven't really stated where Hawkeye will be built, but I would strong recommend against Earth unless you want Earth blown up right after Hawkeye departs on its maiden voyage. Hm... Actually that wouldn't be that bad of a plot. Earth builds Hawkeye; activates Hawkeye; Zimrat detect Hawkeye and sends fleet to investigate; Hawkeye departs for X starsystem; Zimrat fleet finds flourishing human race on Earth and destroys it, and againt thinking they've annihilated humanity but leaves a probe so they don't make the mistake they did last time (These guys must have a pretty long grudge against us apes ); Hawkeye returns and finds decimated Earth; probe transmits Hawkeye's existance; Hawkeye searches for a new home away from the Zimrat for its crew to colonize and rebuild. Maybe.. maybe not... I'm going out now, so uh.. I'll think up some other things later. These are just suggestions btw! Don't take them too seriously, this is YOUR story, not mine. ------------------ GCV-Transcendence Death before Dishonor [This message has been edited by Avant Garde (edited 04-02-2000).]

Brown Drawfs are basically stars with not enough matter to begin thermonuclear reactions within it's core. Also, the majority of their matter, as is with the rest of the universe, is primarily composed of hydrogen and helium and very little material you would use to build a warship of that magnitude. Then again, you haven't mentioned what exactly the Hawkeye is made of. I doubt however it's hydrogen. Of course, planet X really could be a terrestrial type planet, but it somewhat goes against the most accepted cosmic evolution theories to date. Anyway, Stone, I think what you should do on the future/fantasy front is just base all the technology on theoreticals; like power source could be zero point energy, armor composed of the vaunted neutronium, and stable cosmic wormholes as the form of space travel. I have a lot of other ideas that you might find interesting, but I think I've babbled on long enough **tapes mouth** ------------------ GCV-Transcendence Death before Dishonor

Uhm, I think somewhere in the manual, version control, or faq, tells you that you don't get fleet c&c until you reach the rank of supreme commander or have Karl Reines onboard. And obtaining the rank of Fleet Commander only means a bit more pay. Just keep referring to the manual ------------------ GCV-Transcendence Death before Dishonor

Last I checked, only v. 2.0x are supported here. Besides, just about everyone on this forum has a 2.0x version. Also, it would help if you'd provide more specific information. What's in the .bat file would be helpful. But I'll take a shot anyway. quote: makebc3k.bat, will not seem to put together the zip file I assume that the makebc3k.bat contains a copy command, something like copy /b blah1.ext + blah2.ext blahfull.ext If the .bat file doesn't work, you can try to do it manually. Just make sure that you have all the necessary files. I'll call the files bc3k, yours might be different Do a: copy /b bc3k.01 + bc3k.02 + bc3k.03 + (until you reach the last file) bc3kfull.zip There is no "+" before the bc3kfull.zip Once it is done copying, try to open the zip file. If it doesn't work, you either have an error in one of the bc3k file sections and have to redownload, or you can try to do a "copy /a" instead. But what I really, strongly recommend, is that you forget the freeware version and get the 2.09 demo from this site. Hope that helps. ------------------ GCV-Transcendence Death before Dishonor
