What about missions other than those shipped with the game? Has anyone created them for the game using the Game Builder add on? If so are they on a web site? Does the add-on with the Insurgent and Raider classification give missions? Thanks

I am using version 2.9 with Map Pak. I have been flying around in Free Flight Mode learning the universe and ship. It's been fun landing on planets, attempting to help people that are attacked, etc. However, is there dialog in the game? Is it possible to talk to other life forms. The missions statement mentioned diplomacy but I havent been able to talk to anyone. Also, other than the missions that ship with the game are there missions that can be added. I looked at the Mission Control section and will download the insergent stuff tonight, but does this include missions or just the type of entity you can be in the Free Mode? Also, I looked at the Game Builder Scripts download, does this include missions or just the ability to create your own? The reason I ask before actually downloading them is that whenever I download stuff I need to trouble shoot again, so I dont want to mess with it until I have an idea of what I should download - missions and dialog. Thanks.

Wow, this game is deep. Just started the game this week, and there is so much to do. What a great game. Last night I was figuring out some stuff, learning the BC with the manual. I landed on Earth flew around for a while, found some buildings and launched an intercepter, jumped into it and checked it out for myself. I spent the whole evening on and around only ONE planet! AMAZING! Finally found a space sim that pulls me in (XWing series didnt do it, Freespace didnt do it, Jump Gate no, Privateer 2... almost, Tachyon close, Terminus just couldn't do it Battle cruiser - right on target)! I can finally do what I want, when I want, and where I want. I cant wait to work my through the entire manual and start doing some real exploring, trading, and combat of course. Truly spectacular game. A massively multiplayer version of this game would be absolutely AMAZING!!!! Can't wait for DS to release that. The worse thing about the game is that it took me sooo long to find it. Thanks for listening; I just felt the need to share. Keyne Commander of the Andromada

Hey thanks guys for all the help. Turns out that once I updated the SB drivers the problem went away. Great game BTW! Landed on earth did some planet flying in an interceptor. Terrific stuff! Lots to learn though - just printed the entire manual.

I went through the sound setup process and the tests worked fine. BTW, sound worked in the game after I get past the error, and I turned of the MIDI sounds from the game configuration screen. The big problem I have to wait for it to go to the DOS error screen in order to hit space bar to continue and thats a pain.

I read the FAQ in detail and searched this site, but I am not a computer tech guy and didnt understand some of the items (changing config files and such) and didnt want to screw up my computer. Patched version to 2.9 with map pak System - Gateway PII 450, Voodoo2, 128 Megs ram, PCI64 sound card. When I start the game it says that it can not play sound because it is already in use, so that sounds like a conflict. Then on the DOS screen it says that "specific driver not loaded. Hit any key." So I hit any key and it starts and runs fine. I am going to download updated sound card drivers tonight, but is this ok for my computer, or will this cause a problem in the future - crashes, etc?

just arrived and it's installed and patching. Once it is ready I will be heading out into the great void under my first command.

Hey Ander! Yeah, I just couldnt get into Terminus. I will buy BC3K tonight, and I am sure I will be here asking questions.

read a bunch about it and its pretty cheap, but just wanted to know if it delivers as promised or should I wait for BCM to come out. BC3K sounds great, I like big manuals, I like complexity, but I dont like crashes and stupid frustrations. Let me know what you think. BTW, this is not a troll, I really want to know. Thanks.

Yep, I agree, I played the game since Beta 4 and its just boring after a while. Once you have a pretty good ship there is nothing to do but kill people and make money, but if you already have a ship you like then killing is all that is left. Also, the game is poorly balanced. Finally, if you are newbie, look out, people will kill you over and over and over and over again as you leave stations and things. I like Pvp but not random pk, so it gets a little old fast. Some of the graphics are cool, and I liked the flight engine.
