  1. You didn't mention what the 2 350MHZ CPU's are but if they are NOT Celeron I'd say go for it. Basic understanding of the Celeron only here (someone else can fill in the grey areas) but the Celeron is Intel's budget chip and is a cut down version of the same things So if you have two PII/PIII 350's or the 600 Celeron I'd say go with the 2 350's.
  2. Derek Give 'em hell. As has been stated quite a bit here (and elsewhere) the BC series is a niche market product. And the memebers of that Niche are quite regular contributors on these forums. Surely DC must know that we all support Derek in this and by doing this they will like loose the sales to the majority(if not all ) of us. That sounds like a financially suicidal maneuvor on DC's part! Or did I miss something??

  4. I have! I've seen stations under attack. Fighter combat between muliples of fighters. And cruiser combat. And a few times I've seen all three in the same region.(not forgetting the little space marines also)
  5. All the best in what you choose to do Derek. Behind you all the way!

  7. Amen to that one. During the Beta to BCM I spent so much time in front of the PC that my wife took the kids away for the weekend and I didn't realise until she came back and told me I had to go to work.
  8. Odd? Odd? We're not odd! We're Excentrick (and I can't spell )
  9. quote:Originally posted by Andergum: This totally sucks. Is there any way to buy the game directly from you?? Perhaps a pay for support situation??? I'd much rather give the $$$ to you than have to give any to a-holes like Dreamcatcher. I'm with Andergum on this one. I know though it would be a logistical imposibility to keep trace of who bought it where and would breach contract with Dreamcatcher but I can dream. Ah well Just wait for the next "supported" title I suppose (read title Derek doesn't get screwed over because of) there is NO way I'm going to support Dreamcatcher in this, even if it means I miss out on UC altogether.

  11. Complexity does not stop a game from being great! Case in point Falcon 4 - classic all time flight sim - manual like the bible and a learning curve like the north wall of the empire states building. - still hearlded as one of the all time greatest flight sims. Now BMCG has a MUCH easier contol system to Falcon 4 (Falcon's keyboard template is a nightmare) To the face that I introduced a few friends to BCM a little while back and after a little while they had the basics (flying, changing ships, blowing stuff up and landing on planets) without a manual and only the keyboard reference to guide them. People are making too much of the BC learning curve - yes it's harder than say X-wing but it's easily scalled.
  12. Hmmmm now time for some 'creative accounting' to get the money together!
  13. Ah yes the flight sim. How many hours have I lost reading the manual to or learning to fly same. Up until recently I was still playing Falcon 4 quite regularly, bombing runs are SSoooooooo much fun!"
  14. I'm a sim buff so I've played quite a few Jane's 688 attack sub Jane's F15 Apache Havoc Falcon 4 M1 Tank Platoon And lots of others I can't think of right now.
  15. And the Lord said "Let there be light" Would be a great devolopment IMHO. Mail Spam is such a pain. Especially when you have a site of users ringing you to sort it out.

I had a female dancer on Galaxies once, decided that it was time to nix her after 40 people in a cantina asked me to strip. Sorry, but that bothers me, esp. since I was just using the char to check out some of the other professions. Hendrick, what server do you play on? I need to make a new character so maybe we can meet up sometime (My Master Bounty Hunter was told to master Image Design to open my FS slot.... what up wit dat?) see this is why i'm scared when i see people with female skins. you don't know if they are some girl or a guy Want to answer me why it makes a difference? I have roleplayed for years (about 18 now I think) and have played both male and female characters (and a few non descript ones too). The idea is to roleplay your character whethar you are a guy rp'ing a woman or vice versa why does it matter. Or do you play these games in the hope of finding your 'special someone' online. Now I don't openly tell people on line that I'm a man rp'ing a woman or you get responses like yours but any untoward advances are quickly told where to go. Is it a slight touch of homophobia that makes the difference to you all? I doubt it because I have to admit I am not comfortable with homosexuality (but at the end of the day it's everyones own choice). However as a writer and a roleplayer I have never had a problem doing a love scene or simular with one of my characters. The difference is when I RP I don't see further than the AVATAR of the other person on screen, or the writings they have made of their AE. I do not sit there thinking about the person controling/writing the character that my character is dealing with. I can seperate myself from the 'me and the other player' idea and concentrate on the game/roleplay/story. I admit it's harder to do face to face(at least it seems to be for the other person which makes my role harder) Anyway that's my rant to finalise though. Whethar the person controling the chara you are dealing with onscreen is male or female it does not matter. Thats the core of Roleplay - leaving the real world behind.
  17. For some reason when I RP I mostly play female characters (except here my AE is male). It can be fun sometimes my chara in Galaxies is a Dancer also and also an artisan, Brawler and Marksman and she's getting pretty good at all of them now. I'm on Farstar and tend to be online regular enough.
  18. I think in all online games you get idiots. I play a female character in SWG and I swear if I get asked to take my bra off one more time I'm gonna go postal on some little 15 year old. I play online for an escape for a few hours a week. I believe I'm fairly responsible but then again I am 28 years old and a fair bit older than the average confused and messed up teenager who would be online also.

  20. I have lost a LOT more of my life to computer games than to film. Even my favourite films of all time (any of the Star Wars films) I have not spent as much time watching as I have playing some games. I have spent untold hours if not months in front of my PC screen at home, happily playing away the hours. I recognise names attached with computer games alot quicker than ANY actor. Any actor who has done some FMV or the like on computer games I would also instantly be able to say "Oh he was in such a game!" Where as I may be hard pressed to remember another film that he was in. The devolopers of the games are my STARS they are the names that I see regularly on the web pages that I read. I don't read a paper, I don't watch the news - these things depress me. I do read the online gaming and computer mags so I couldn't tell you how many people died in Ethopia today but I can tell you the latest devolopments in gaming. And I prefer that - It's less depressing.
  21. *pats ADSL modem gently while smiling broadly* Waiting patently SC. Waiting Patently (Yea I know I can't spell)
  22. News to me although I have to admit I'm not surprised. Never used their service so could not comment on whethar this will be a great loss to gamers in general.
  23. TAC I registered but I don't seem to be approved as I still can not login to the Database.
