Comms and some surface combat questions
Epsilon 5 replied to Fernando Luis Garcia's topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
- No starbase capture. In upcoming games I think you will be able. - I'm not sure I understand the ATV thing - The C key will be for MP only. P.S it's post-scriptum - not P.D (whatever you thought it meant), so it's good, but you need to practice more -
Do you still look like a white man with a price tag in the back of the head in the middle of japanese people, or you looks a little more blended with the crowd? [ 10-07-2002, 12:48 AM: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]

About the demo : boring, unimpressive, little action. In a small area you have earth, mars and saturn. IG3 is better, if only I could destroy at least one craft ... damn nukes.

Am I the only one who noticed there's a typo in the thread title?

quote:Originally posted by Lightning Bolt Man: Hey, I use to be a computer engineer. Had the coffee cup holder problem a few times with some customers. Some of the other best ones we had was we asked someone to send a copy of a program they were having problems with in and when the letter arrived, we found they sent a photocopy of the disk! Another person sent in a box with a note on it saying "Wont boot!". We opened up the box to find a pair of boots in it! And you wont (or probably will) believe the amount of people who send their computer in with the recycle bin full of porn! ROTFLMAO!

quote:If for instance, Congress was to pass a law stating that police have the right to stop and strip search anybody at thier leisure, the Supreme Court would declare the law unconstitutional and it would no longer be law since it violates 4th Amendment rights protecting the people from unlawful search. Well it wouldn't pass here. We do have a constitution here, but we are much less aware of it. However, the law needs to be approved by the different parts of the government, including the senate, and the supreme court can declares laws unconstitutional as necessary. The government tried to pass an anti-terrorist law where the government could declare martial law within an area without a clear and present danger of some sort, but it hardly passed the house of commons (even though the current government party has a majority of sieges), and it had no chance of going out of the senate. So I think we're safe. [ 09-29-2002, 02:02 PM: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]

quote:Your crime rate is high now, wait until the only ones with weapons are the criminals. LOL! I alreayd showed you that the crimerates are lower in Canada. Must I go get those numbers again, like I did in the 2 last gun control threads? quote:I don't know much about Canadian government, but I'm assuming it's based roughly on the British model. Unlike, the US, the British government doesn't officially acknowledge individual rights of the citizens. Though they enjoy many of the same freedoms as the US, their rights are not protected and can be taken away by the government at any time.I doubt the US government wouldn't do that to American citizens if deemed necessary, so I don't see the difference. quote:British government doesn't officially acknowledge individual rights of the citizensNow that bothers me. How's that possible? I don't understand.

(1) Every one who is unlawfully assaulted without having provoked the assault is justified in repelling force by force if the force he uses is not intended to cause death or grievous bodily harm and is no more than is necessary to enable him to defend himself. Extent of justification (2) Every one who is unlawfully assaulted and who causes death or grievous bodily harm in repelling the assault is justified if (a) he causes it under reasonable apprehension of death or grievous bodily harm from the violence with which the assault was originally made or with which the assailant pursues his purposes; and ( he believes, on reasonable grounds, that he cannot otherwise preserve himself from death or grievous bodily harm. R.S., 1985, c. C-46, s. 34; 1992, c. 1, s. 60(F). Self-defence in case of aggression 35. Every one who has without justification assaulted another but did not commence the assault with intent to cause death or grievous bodily harm, or has without justification provoked an assault on himself by another, may justify the use of force subsequent to the assault if (a) he uses the force (i) under reasonable apprehension of death or grievous bodily harm from the violence of the person whom he has assaulted or provoked, and (ii) in the belief, on reasonable grounds, that it is necessary in order to preserve himself from death or grievous bodily harm; ( he did not, at any time before the necessity of preserving himself from death or grievous bodily harm arose, endeavour to cause death or grievous bodily harm; and © he declined further conflict and quitted or retreated from it as far as it was feasible to do so before the necessity of preserving himself from death or grievous bodily harm arose. R.S., c. C-34, s. 35. Provocation 36. Provocation includes, for the purposes of sections 34 and 35, provocation by blows, words or gestures. R.S., c. C-34, s. 36. Preventing assault 37. (1) Every one is justified in using force to defend himself or any one under his protection from assault, if he uses no more force than is necessary to prevent the assault or the repetition of it. Extent of justification (2) Nothing in this section shall be deemed to justify the wilful infliction of any hurt or mischief that is excessive, having regard to the nature of the assault that the force used was intended to prevent. R.S., c. C-34, s. 37. quote:In Canada, you are a subject, not a citizenI don't get it. What do you mean by subject? quote:In Canada, if you are caught with a firearm, you are going to jailYes, unless you have the paperwork allowing you to possess weapons quote:Handguns are illegal, unless you are a competitor of some sort or have a special permit from the government, in other words you had better be Police or you're gonna go away for a while. Rifles, you need a hunting permit and while carrying the weapon you have to follow VERY strict guidelines. False. You can own hunting rifles, and you can move them around as much as you need (this doesn't mean keep them as concealed weapons. You need to register those rifles though. Most handguns are restricted, which means you need a permit to get one of those, and must be registered at the police. You need permission to have the right to move them around. Any rifle with more than 5 bullet mag, or handgun with more than a 10 bullet mag is prohibited, same for any kind of semi-automatic, automatic weapon, assault shotguns and most of the other weapon type. Weapons basically deemed "not for killing", such as bb guns, paintballs, blank fire, etc are not called firearms, thus are not illegal. I can buy those at my local wal-mart, as long as I can prove I'm 18 years old or more. A friend of mine has a bb gun rifle. [ 09-29-2002, 02:05 AM: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]

quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: Come on Echo, you know better!! LOL Fact is that Kennedy is your senator, your gun laws are probably very strict. I would have to do further research, but since one of the chief socialist gun grabbers is your senator, I doubt you are allowed to defend yourself at all.I'd be suprised. Even here if for some reason you kill your aggressor, you might get sentenced for it, but you will get very little. That is, if you get sentenced at all. Illegal possession of weapons doesn't end up with prison time, only a fine.
