  1. quote:Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. "FACT: Not everyone has a gun, but everyone has at least one Doctor." Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand. Doctors accidentally kill people while trying to help people. A gun that accidentally kills someone is generally not in a situation where the victim was getting help.
  2. $iLk, I guess that from your last post, ANYONE on welfare is worthless and will spend it's money on what he shouldn't? Not true. Sure there are too much people that way, but alot of those on welfare make good use of the money, and TRY to get out of it. Alot of people don't know how to spend correbtly their money event if they are working! (like my mother's sister, which complains that she doesn't have food and has heavy debts but keeps on buying fancy clothes on Saturdays) ... so you can't expect those on welfare to do better. It's the nature of humanity.
  3. I believe if you disarm the people, you disarm both innocent and dangerous people. Real criminals will always be able to find guns, and they will (mostly) always more trained and hesitate less when it's time to shoot. I saw only 1 gun in my entire life (aside from TV, police and 2 hunting rifles my father once had), and it wasn't in a situation of danger. I can walk in Montreal downtown never fearing I'd be shot - I'll fear I could be beaten thought. An american city? I'd fear to get shot. No joke. Guns are cool... but too many dangerous people get them legally. quote: Amendment II - A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.Note that grammatically the first part is a kind of addemdun to the second part. Rewriting the phrase in another manner, without making it lose it's meaning would be : The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed, a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State Noticed I just swapped each part from each side, and now it only looks like you need guns to form a militia. A militia to defend against who? Today, criminals, real criminals/terrorists acts in a mostly undefendable way. And what if the lowly citizen carrying a gun being held hostage in a bank get its gun out and miss? What happen do you think? Same for a shooter, or any similar situation. And most killers use the element of suprise to kill. [ 05-14-2002, 13:23: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]

  10. Where's the AMD cpu??
  11. get AMD cpu, and DDR mem. With the money you saved, buy some more fans. Btw : AMD cpus don't overheat more than p4, it's a popular belief because AMD cpus are often overclocked by users.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Kush: Console games can crash? Really? I honestly thought that they were pretty crash proof. What happens, do you get a blue screen of death or something. I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I never play console games and I really want to know.- Lock-up - Reboot A friend of mine has a playstation and some games crashed from time to time.. quite rarely in fact.
  13. I can't believe they still think playing violent games makes kid think they can do that too... BTW if aplies to any game where you go against another human, which is true in most games. I believe those games should be restricted to those over 16 ... not 18.

  17. quote:(which, by the way, is something that doesnÔÇÖt take much getting used to) I got to hate stings because i got alot in a small time. In a year and a half I got 12 stings, 8 alone for an operation on my feets, and it HURTS! Just thikning about it gives me the shakes and cold sweat. I didn't got used to. I started to fear it. And if I can vote, I'd rather vote for something I believe is the best than waste my vote.
  18. I would never ever ever ever go in the military, I would do anything to be exluded from the military. guns are fun, but that doesn't mean I want to take a chance at getting shot. Anyway I'm too weak and I have that fear of suffering. And I can't stand stings, which get you get alot in the military (medical tests, protection against other countries' sicknesses...) I'd rather not being able to vote ever than going in the military for a year. I wouldn't even be able to go throught the training. [ 05-04-2002, 16:19: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]
  19. quote:..no shite, still don't freakin' work dude.. starbases DON'T display in the TacScan, so they WON'T display in the NID, therefore they DON'T register in the CVD... therefore I CAN'T dock...(and please don't tell me to cycle through the targets,'cause I DID RTFM )as I posted about a freakin year ago.. all clear now???To see buildings in the NID you have to increase the zoom level by about 8k. That's not written in he manual, at least not explicitely. Found out later when I had the same problem p21 When on a planet's surface, the topology map of the surface is removed as the zoom level is increased. This will display a view of the object at it's current location[3i] quote:..and for about the third freakin' time I wasn't talkin about BCM... so you take your pick... Err oops. Anyway must work the same way in bc3k? Wish i could check.
  20. hmm.. must be like winzip : you have a 21 days evaluation period.. but you can continue to use it.
  21. quote:Hey Derek, ever thought of doing something like this? A promotional BC:M/GCO desktop thingy like this one?He could do better! You could have an small display of a "live" auto-generated battle with the full AI working... when one ship is destroyed, another random is generated... a constant war on your desktop! Nothing pre-recorded! Nothing prerendered! Xtreme Carnage!® now THAT would be cool!
  22. quote:Originally posted by Fractux: Just a question SC, if we are using ASE, are we going to have to pay for that program's registration in order to play BCM MP games?ASE is free. Paying only get you a few more options, and you get priority on the server burden.
  23. You checked you jumper settings? The primary IDE HDD might be set to single. It's usually written on the hard-drive how to set jumpers to single, master or slave. With drives on a same IDE cable, one need to be the master, ther other one the slave, or it won't work. If you did it but no change, try swapping the master/slave config between each HDD.
