Without a sufficient charge the starter won't work (no I'm kidding, I have no idea )
  2. 8 characters? Does that means the board supports up to 99 999 999 members?
  3. <<<<<<------- Now people can't forget I'm an Empirian !
  4. I'm back from playing the mp demo. [rant] I'm not impressed. (at least not yet) Graphics are nice, but not "cutting-edge". I'm not complaining either. Gameplay (mp) As a marine I get ripped by anything.. from lack of firepower, speed and agility. As an Alien, I can harly kill anyone, I usually just jump on 2 guys fightning close and use the element of suprise to frag 'em both. Maybe the alien has only melee weapons, but his abilities are cool. As a predator, I cloak but it seems it doesn't work very much. the plasma caster is not real impressive... I found myself camping on a dark corner... but I keep missing people because of lag... (teleportation...). I only like the spear weapon. Ihe different vision modes are a cool thing, but I can't find the use of the red mode. So as I say, only jumping on wounded/busy people as an alien gets me kills. I'll give the game a few more tries, since I only played for an hour or so, and the demo doesn't show all weapons. [/rant] 2000TH POST!!! W0000T!! Everyone open a can of pepsi/coke for me Btw, just curiosity... who has more posts that me? SC has... well... nearly 10k posts Aramike has 1950 posts Gallion has 2037 posts [ 03-06-2002, 14:20: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]
  5. Is Avp2 a good game? I remember playing Avp(1) once before... it sucked IMHO (tried mp alone to understand how it worked, always got hit by the littles beast all around. before I could even think about firing.. it wan't working very well either) I'm downloading the mp demo and will probably do the same for the sp demo.
  6. I don't really understand what is this all about...
  7. quote:Originally posted by Soback: Ok, I probably don't know what I am getting into, actually I really don't know what I am gettin into. I am going to try and "paint" some ships. The next question will be how do I post the shots here when I am done?1 - You find a website and you put your imges on simple html files 2 - You find yourself someone who owns some kind of the server
  8. I can understand why you don't play your game for the fun of it... after soo many years you worked on it... But do you play other games, for fun? If yes, what's the last game you really enjoyed playing?

  10. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: You didn't say that it "overwrites" the normal roam scenario. I only noticed after a NPC Megaron almost destroyed Orion I thought at first "it" found the "sweet" spot Thats such a dumb thing to say (you're batting two for two this morning). Where DOES it overwrite the standard ROAM scenario?? If you don't read the docs, you get what you deserve. In spades. I noticed it when I loaded a game after copying the files in the scripts directory, keeping the default roam scenario when I chose my profile. I just started the game and "odd, I thought Orion's shields/armor level were higher", then the megaron proved it. Then I went in the explorer and deleted the files in the directory, then everything was back to 1.0.0.6 normal.
  11. To prove my point (about fighters being showed wrongs), I took screenies. Zodiac using the old bcs Zodiac rendered using the new bcs [ 03-05-2002, 10:24: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]

  13. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: I also liked Dark Reign 2Nah, I didn't likes Dark Reign 2 very much... frankly I thought the game was butched... and I somewhat don't like how the graphics and sounds are like... But Dark Reign 1 is one of my all-time favorites... never got to finish the expansion's singleplayer... I got stuck at the second Imperium mission, "Betrayal" And about bz2 I started to work on modding it I love games that are moddable... and bz2 couldn't be more easily moddable, at least for the weapons... well it's not actually a mod, but I'm really changing the weapons .... I might download the sdk later to do something a little more serious.
  14. Skins : all ship textures are in the /models/textures directory in a bmp format. Modify any of them and you'll see changes everywhere in the game. Don't forget to backup the original files somewhere. Best tools? I can't recommend paint, but a little more professional editor like Paint shop pro, photoshop, corel draw or anything that has a lot of features should be good. Of course don't forget the BC studio, your best friend to know the texture names and to preview the ship. You'll need your brain and all the patience you can find too, some texture modifications can be a real @$$ job ... the blood / peacemonger textures were the toughest, due to non-quarish areas... which requires complex precision selecting for adjustment parametring... err...whatever

  17. I heard that yes. (I know I'm talking about another game that the forum topic, but anyway everyone on planetbattlezone has been trying to ) Bz2 is considered as a "dead game" by activision and pandemic studios, but the pbz forums get more traffic than this forum A big mod has been released in december (Forgotten enemies part one) and some are coming soon, there are a few fan-made bug fixes (most notably the Stack overflow fix (SOF)) , and some fans are working on the 1.3 patch to fix some issues and add a few goodies. That's one game that doesn't want to die [ 03-04-2002, 23:44: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]
  18. I'm a RTS fan, and I happen to like Battlezone 2, which is a FP-RTS game. Which means that I don't like those elements in Renegade (demo) : - Unable to have AI controlled units - Unable to build structures (like defense turrets) - Unable to rebuild what has been destroyed - Unable to upgrade weapons - No inside view (FP) in tanks Also graphics are better in Battlezone 2, even thought bz2 is a few years old. And I like bz2 more also because of the futuristic aspect of the game (althought bz2 goes around 1980-1990, alternate history).. like hovering tanks, energy and semi-material weapons, contruction by bio-metal projection, etc... but renegade isn't that kind of game I liked playing renegade for a little while... but got bored and went back to bz2 [ 03-04-2002, 23:40: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]
  19. Alright I worked on a "few" more ships, most are simple modifications. Shiny Aëstrom Shiny garid Shiny StormCarrier Shiny warmonger Now on "better" stuff Blood warmonger Blood warmonger - under ...Nova said it makes him think about ketchup Peacemonger Peacemonger - under Now THAT'S funky All shots were made in BCS because making them ingame would have took too long, and I was chatting at the same time... but you can certainly imagine [ 03-04-2002, 23:15: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]
  20. I've been playing all the afternoon with a zenstar, so I decided I'd skin it. After some work, I made something that I think is real cool. Screenies aren't ingame though, but I expect to have some in no so long. Here I go anyway : Zenstar (Before) Zenstar (New and cooler

  22. Aahh another Empirian! I'm also an Empirian but I'm affiliated to Galcom. Anyway, as we say... !Bulc ua eunevneib! quote:Making Centauri A Safer Place, but not for Vesperon scum !I want to remind you something. Empirians don't "hate" Vesperons, like racist people hate black people, they are at war because of a difference of opinion. The Vesperons want to link Omicron Eridani to Procyon, while the Empirians don't want them to do so, but it shouldn't go much farther... unless you have something personnal. You make the Vesperons sounds like Raiders or Gammulans As an Empirian Starforce member, the empirian equivalent to EarthCom, you duty is to protect the many Empirian planets, Centris, Cronus, Treas and Tramis, while fightning the Sla'ti raiders and freeing Nevuela and Cronus of any hostile force. !Sneiripme sel eviv!
  23. What's different from the "old" one? Try *gasp* READING the docs [Edit] There's a major problem with it : any fighter loads all f*cked up. And I mean only fighter, not even planetary fighters. There's NOTHING wrong with it. [ 03-05-2002, 07:26: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  25. LOL! I guess the germans would have won on Omaha beach because "The arcs described by the swinging of their mg42's was very smooth, but at the same time the irregularities caused by the 1200rpm bullet firng made it sooo special. And on the top of that, the way the gunners were falling due to the allied snipers was simply astonishing. And add the sounds effects created by the multitude of machine guna and mortar explosions, you almost get a perfect score "
