I just started the first Honor Harrington novel by David Weber "On Basilisk Station". Any opinions?

I have a CDROM with the ENTIRE series on it, could NOT put down my laptop, I love that series.

Honor Harrington is one cool lady!!

David Weber did a Great job on the series and that character in particular.

Now, if he would write more Dahak and empire stories, Mutineers moon etc, I would one happy camper!!

From your mouth to his ears. I pray daily that something from DW will be coming out before the year is out.

Just got and finished David & Leigh Eddings's The Elder Gods. A bearable overarching storyline but unfortunately the characters they are using are pretty much in the same vein with the characters they created in both the Belgariad & Mallorean series and The Sparhawk series plus the Redemption of Althalus.

If you have their previous books you will see the resemblance immediately.

I'm not trying to start a "Gamers Anonymous" thing or anything like that, I'm truly intrigued by this.

Actually Bandus, this is a fact of life. Obssession is a part of the human nature. The only person that can stop your own obssession is yourself.

I do admit that I have went through 36 hours straight of playing X-com UFO Defense way back when. I skipped my meals, my showers, my assignments in college, my classes and everything else. And no sleep!!

Finally it struck me that I could play the game anytime but life outside of the PC does not wait for one. With much, much regret I pushed my obssession aside to concentrate on a more balanced play time.

If it wasn't because of a sudden sliver of sanity I might have been in the the man in the article you read in 1993.

Discipline and self awareness is more important that anyone thinks.

I apologize for the slow response. But it is great to see you post again. Your offer sounds really good.

    Just a couple of questions.

    1. Can we use intercorp-unlimited.com instead of under-core.net?

    2. How much does this web host charge you? We might want to pool our resources to defray your expenses.

    3. Do you have enough time to maintain and update the site? Or do we need to appoint someelse to do it?

    4. Any suggestions?

Hehe I get to be a mechanical engineer. Its actually less than half a year come to think of it. I'm just counting the graduation ceremony.
Ha ha, then you'll be joining us in the daily/weekly/monthly/yearly grind of RL.
  9. Hmm, quite a change of characters.

The original names are now callsigns and the two major cast have been changed to females, how politically correct.

Let's see where it goes, if it keeps to the spirit of the original series, I don't see where it can go wrong.
