  1. Oh, and Volio. Here's an answer to your "US torture" comments. "After decades of ignoring that responsibilities and rights go together, it was perhaps inevitable that an under-educated and easily confused generation should include some who do not understand that the rights granted to captured troops by the Geneva Conventions apply to those who have accepted the terms of the conventions. It DOES NOT apply to people who are not troops and who have violated the conventions' framework." Do you comprehend the meaning of what is stated above?
  2. Are you insane, Volio? You saying I am hurting them by keeping the money I have made? That's like saying that my next door neighbor is hurting me by making more and having a bigger house. Or the guy with a better car is hurting someone without a car. The fact remains, the money I have made is MINE, and therefore is MINE to keep. Others are free to make money, just like I am. And don't give me the bs about opportunity of jobs, ect...first thing is you can not work at burger king and expect to make 100k a year to buy yourself a house and a car, second you need to be qualified for a high paying job, and third, if there are NO jobs, then start a bussiness and work for yourself or go plow fields, but make NO demands on un-earned wealth. If I chose not to give my property to a bum, I am not hurting him, he has hurt himself. If I chose not to support a single mother with 3 kids, I am not hurting her, it was her decissions that caused the consequences that got her to the end of being single with 3 kids. Do NOT pass on the responsibility of others onto those who are responsible enough to take care of themselfs. As far as your factory and the factory owners example goes. Whos factory is it? The workers of the owners? Before the owner decided to make an investment, take a risk, and open that factory, there was NO jobs. If he decides to close the factory down, there will be NO jobs again, just like there was before, it is HIS factory, HIS property, and therefore HIS decision on wether to keep the factory open or close it. Those workers are also free to work in that factory, look for another job, or open up their own factory, just like that owner did. It's all about your initiative, ability, and competence that decides how far you will go in life. Those factory workers are not slaves and indentured servants, so stop treating them as such. Freedom means being responsible for your own life, your choices and their consequences, stop treating people like animals, and stop enslaving the most able ones into your guilt trip of "if you are able to take care of yourself, you HAVE to help others". I as a free man, do not HAVE to do anything. And then there's your 'brother-love' morality. Why is it moral to serve others, but not yourself? If enjoyment is a value, why is it moral when experienced by others, but not by you? Why is it immoral to produce something of value and keep it for yourself, when it is moral for others who haven't earned it to accept it? If it's virtuous to give, isn't it then selfish to take? Your acceptance of the code of selflessness has made you fear the man who has a dollar less than you because it makes you feel that that dollar is rightfully his. You hate the man with a dollar more than you because the dollar he's keeping is rightfully yours. Your code has made it impossible to know when to give and when to grab. You know that you can't give away everything and starve yourself. You've forced yourselves to live with undeserved, irrational guilt. Is it ever proper to help another man? No, if he demands it as his right or as a duty that you owe him. Yes, if it's your own free choice based on your judgment of the value of that person and his struggle. This country wasn't built by men who sought handouts. In its brilliant youth, this country showed the rest of the world what greatness was possible to Man and what happiness is possible on Earth. And since you STILL seem to have trouble grasping the concept of ownership. I will explain it to you another way. Since you think it's ok to take what you haven't earned, here's an example. If you were to trespass on my property, and help yourself to what does not belong to you, the second you have violated my rights and forced yourself on what is rightfully mine, you lost your freedom, and your life. Maybe that will make you understand the concept of who hurts whom. I do not hurt you by having more, you hurt me by forcefully taking the product of my labors (I have worked and earned what I have), when you hurt my by doing that, I will put a STOP to it, which means I take what's mine back, plus interest. The time will come when enough is enough. It has happened before, and it will happen again. Here's a clue though, people with your mentality do not survive such cycles, they only grow in numbers by the end of a cycle, and are almost non existent at the begining of one. Up to you to figure out where they dissapear to. [ 12-01-2005, 09:25 PM: Message edited by: Soback ]
  3. Lets put this to rest. How do you know that homosexuality is simply un-natural. Lets do a simple experiment. For this we will require three islands. On one island we put a group of 5000 males and 5000 females. On the second island we put a group of 10,000 gay males. On the third island we put a group of 10,000 gay females. We turn up the clock and let 100 years go by. Is anyone going to argue with the conclusion that two out of three of those islands are going to end up with ZERO population? Conclusion, homosexuality is nothing more than a lifestyle choice (hey, after all, one can chose to sleep with sheep or goats or whatever be...), it is a dead end evolutionary and biologically. As I believe in freedom of ones choices, I do not care if one man (or woman) chooses to spend their lives with another man (or a woman). However, I do NOT want to hear about their relationships and sexuality on the news, newspapers, parades, ect... Sexuality is what you do, NOT who you are. If you feel the need to define yourself as gay (which says ZERO about who you are, what you do ect..) then at the very least you are an individual that has no concept of oneself and therefore feels the need to link the whole being of his existence to his sexual orientation (says a lot about ones state of mind and process of thinking, if you feel that the most defining thing about your whole being is who you chose to spend your nights with).
  4. Yeah, here's a feature: Stay away from fast moving objects.
  5. What are you even talking about Volio? Are people ready for the responsibility of freedom? Who are you to decide? NOBODY can decide if one is "ready" for freedom. It is persons RIGHT to be free. Freedom doesn't mean that I am free to go kill my neighbor. It means I am free to live MY life the way I want, to make the choices for MYSELF, and to KEEP what I earn. Freedom is for ONESELF. You are not "free" to go harm another, that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You should understand that by using force against another human being you are violating their freedom and therefore FORFEITING your own. In capitalism you are free to make the money and to keep it. You are NOT hurting anyone by keeping it. When you talk about the less fortunate, the sick and the bums, that is THEIR responsibility to take care of their lives. Whether they are able to do so or not, does NOT give you nor anyone else the right to FORCE someone else to take care of them. Once you FORCE someone to take care of the less fortunate, ESPECIALLY when those said "less fortunate" have the power to vote for a politician that promisses them more of YOUR money, you therefore take away that persons freedom and make them a SLAVE of every bum, lazy, sick, stupid...criminal...ect... And do not try to say how it's the price of living in a society. The price of living in a society is ZERO. That's right, ZERO. The price of a BUM living in a society is HUGE, it's just spread out over 15 people supporting that bum. Just by working, you provide a service, or make a product, or invent, or even by "pushing paperwork" you "pay" your price for living in a society. You end up earning money for you labors, and that money is YOURS, minus the taxes for keeping the basic functions of the government functioning (not the social programs, nor the wellfare checks, nor the "medical care", nothing but the most basic functions of the government which are: to ensure YOUR rights stay un-molested. That's IT). It really is that simple. Do not talk how the system is flawed but is better than .... or how it works.... It works just like it's designed to. It's design is to enslave the productive people. You keep failing to grasp the simplest of points that: No matter WHAT the condition of another human being is, he is NEVER, EVER, entitled to anothers property. You just don't seem to understand what ownership means, and that what you make/have/earn/ is yours to keep. Only a slave does not get to keep the product of his labors. You SHOULD NOT be forced to pay for another persons living, it's a ludicrous concept, it's is exactly the same as the criminal act of being mugged. In both instances your money are taken against your will to go to support another human being. In first instance it's either government jails or your money, in second instance it's a bullet in your chest or your money. In BOTH those cases the money YOU earned ends up in the pocket of another. The fact that the guy that mugged you has 3 sick kids and no food, DOES NOT EXCUSE the act. Just like the fact that government wellfare check going to a single mother with 3 sick kids, does not excuse the act of the government taking your money, in the second case, the government played the muggers part for her. 6. Did Volio just say that my version of the government would be the strongest rule? Volio, if you did, then you were either clueless about the things I was saying and the meaning didn't get throught or something got lost in the translation. Like I said, instead of keeping on with this embarassments, like posting how people owe others from the moment they were born, or they owe the society because society allows them to perform work and buy food, get educated about the subject at hand. Based on the points you brought up, you have absolutly no knowledge on the meanings of indivudualism, libertarianism, anarcho capitalism, and fail to understand that people do not live or operate like ants or bees do in hives, nor are we brainless drones. You aslo fail to understand that one person has NO rights of claim to the property of another, it really is that simple, there is ZERO, NONE, absolutly NO excuse for one person to live off of another, and be obtaining the products of labor of another by force (which is what the government does when it takes MY money and gives it to the next guy). Being poor is not an excuse, being sick is not an excuse, being dumb is not an excuse. The fact remains, when you take something that doesn't belong to you, it's a criminal act of stealing/looting, when you accept something that you know was stolen or looted, you are leeching. I would waste none of my time with you, and I am not doing the following for you, being the selfish, egocentric human that I am, it brings me personal joy to post the following: Material that should get you started on the road to self respect, individualism, and finally FREEDOM (if you take the right pill, lol): This will be scary to you, so hold on... 1. Atlas Shrugged Simply the best book ever written. " Set in an imaginary America in a communist world, Atlas Shrugged is a sharp critique of a corrupt communist system and its damaging effects on areas as various as love, science, and industrial productivity. The novel's main protagonists, Dagny Taggart and Hank Rearden, are capitalist-minded industrialists, "Atlases" who carry the collapsing national economy on their backs. Things change, however, when the mysterious John Galt begins a revolution against the existing order, believing that the parasitic society would destroy itself if its competent and hardworking members would simply stop working. But first, the protagonists must learn how to let go of the ties of obligation, responsibility, and guilt connecting them to the abusive community in all aspects of their lives." 2. The Atlas Society 3. John Galt's speech (the mini version) 4. Libertarianism defined 5. Anarcho Capitalism Defined And last, since you do not live in US, I will not bother you with US Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence, and The Constitution. They are a great read if you want to undertand what the role of the government is if you are to have a free country where citizens are not slaves to the sickest, poorest, dumbest, laziest, criminals that happen to be living in our society.
  7. I don't get what you are saying. In Battlecruiser series the ships have always been race specific and caste (trader, politician, military) specific. How can you say you would like to see different race ships and specific ships for the military when that already exists?
  8. quote:Originally posted by Voli0: Worst thing one could possibly do to embrassing oneself in conversation is to start picking on the 'maturity' of other people's posts when cannot come up with better arguments. -v Actually Volio, THIS is the worst thing one could do to embarass oneself. It should've been a lesson for you, not to blurt things out, especially if you do not know the subject at hand. Kinda like you did there. Don't make a fool of yourself by saying things like "You owe me because I build that highway/building/tower...before you were born" or "Your parents raised you, so therefore you owe them" or "if you have enought, you should share with others". That's why the comment was made about your maturity. For only three kinds of people could make a claim of ownership on anothers persons property/labor/wealth/knowledge/life. The first would be a young kid who pictures the world banding together and singing koombaya, the second would be a grown man/leech who hasn't achieved for himself and depends on others for his own and his family's living, the third would be a criminal/looter. So you should be thankfull Jaguar placed you in the young kid catergory, for the other two would've been much worse and more embarassing. Once you grow up, and see that the money taken away from you could go towards getting your kids a better education, better toys, a house with a back yard, an extra vacation for your family, and better living/retirment for you and your wife, you thinking will change.
  9. How can you prove that Europe can't defend itself and relies on US for it's protection? OR What do you tell a European that tries to crack a joke at US's military might? Answer: ---There's US military bases in Europe, there is no European military bases in US.
  10. What is the best way to prove to enviro-mentals that nuclear reactors are safe? France builds them.
  11. What are you guys talking about? Shingen was banned from here for a reason. Also, I might be wrong on this one, but wasn't Takvah ALSO banned? It's the same as people bad mouthing and hating Bill Gates and Microsoft yet using their products. It's hypocritical and at the very least shows bad character. So either put up, or shut up. When you offend someone or do something to get banned, be prepared to deal with the consequences.
  12. Dammit. I just came back from ComUSA's website. I think I got ripped off. This whole thing was an impulse buy. Now I realize I should've gotten a 6600 or 6800, which wasn't on the shelf. Probly will go exchange this weekend.
  13. LOL< I forgot how to update it. Gonna go read and update now. Done. It's GeForce 6200/256mb. I'll update the info on the drivers and such once I get home.
  14. Ok, so I got this new 3d card over the weekend. Came home and decided to install X2 to see if I could run it at high resolution with all the options maxed out. Well, the game runs fine, looks great, I messed around for 2 hours and during this "playing" process I became more and more disgusted with this game. Here's why: I own 5 Battlecruiser games. 2 Battlecrusier 3000AD (one bought for a friend), 2 Millennium (second copy a gift to a friend that brought me into the series), and Universal Combat. Let me tell you, the odasity some people have to complain about the interface in those games, well, they obviously have NEVER played the X series. Battlecruisers interface might not be spify with sliding windows, however it's neat, functional, easy to understand, access, and manipulate, basically it's designed so that you can PLAY and INTERACT with the game. X2's interface is JUNK. Now I remember why I un-installed the game the first day I got it. It's cumbersome, you can't find the options you need, you can't manipulate it with a mouse, it takes you 20 minutes LITERALLY just to order a fleet of 5 ships around. Equipping your ships is just horrendous because unless you remember which weapon the ship can use and how many can fit, you can easily missplace and end up transfering them from one ship to another, EVEN IF THAT WEAPON IS ALREADY EQUIPPED. Anyway, I could go on and on, but enough said, the game is simply un-playable and ALL because of the interface, not bugs or any other reasons, but interface. How can one design a product, and skip implementing mouse toggled options? It stands NO reason. But that's just one thing which would aleviate the overall flaws, even if the mouse was implemented, it would only solve about 40% of my gripes. Conclusion. It's good that we can vote with our money, because I own X-tension and X2. Well, needless to say, I will not be buying ANY of the X series again. Long live the Battlecruiser.
  15. Did you read the article? Are you understanding that Microsoft WILLINGLY sells the console at a loss? Do you understand that when you buy that console you are getting AT LEAST a 30% discount on it? Yet you think it's funny and appear to laugh as if they are taking an unfortunate loss and you are happy at their missfortune? Microsoft could as well tell you to go to hell and abandon the whole console market rather than sell it at a loss, or design an inferior product that wouldn't cost so much to produce. Would you be laughing then? All the stupid Microsoft/Gates haters out there don't even know that Gates WILLINGLY donates DOZENS OF MILLIONS of dollars to charities each year. Not to mention the company he owns produces a product that allows you to flip a switch and be playing games within 5 minutes, Flight simulators, games, ect...and jobs for hundreds of thousands of people, and then even more jobs for companies that do bussiness with his company. Where are your thank you posts, newspaper articles and tv news reports when he does that? http://forums.cgsociety.org/printthread.php?t=205102&pp=50 <--- $750 million to childrens hospital http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?id=31249&category=main <--- $258 Million for malaria research http://www.networkworld.com/news/2001/0129gatesdonate.html <--- $100 Million for AIDS research
  16. You know what Volio. Instead of debating with you, I'll make a simple statement. It all boils down to YOU. You live your life the way you want, AS LONG as you allow others to live theirs. If you want to give away what you have, be it money, time, labor, skill, knowledge, ect... So be it. However, you have NO RIGHT to force others to comply with your standards oh humanitarism (whatever you want to call it). Those others who DO NOT WISH to give away their wealth, or share it, for WHATEVER reason, have the most basic RIGHT to keep it. Do not make a slave of a free man, if he knows freedom, he will kill and die for it. Paying taxes for basic government functions is one thing, paying personal living expenses for someone else is another. I am NOT your slave, and what I own is my property, and it is up to me to decide what to do with it, NOT you, NOT the government, NOT ANYONE. Collecting taxes/fees and giving it to support social programs, wellfare checks, food stamps, ect... is NOT the function of the government, it is a function of people that wish to DONATE willingly to those in need. Government forcefully taking my money to give it to someone else literally equals to getting mugged. For the choice is jail or payment, just like extorsion. As far as me being egocentric. Yes, I am. I am egoistic, selfish and have been called "the most egocentric person" they have ment. I take pride in that. That's when I know that my life is trully MINE, and you will NEVER trap me in this guilt that I own someone something. I know perfectly well that what I have achieved is because of my ability and not anyone elses. Part of the reason I gave back the grants from the government, I would NOT have refused them from an individual or corporation offering them of their own free will. The grants from the government were nothing more than stolen money, taken away from those who have worked hard to earn it, just to have it taken away by the leeches and looters. So, to sum it up. Live your life the way you want to as long as you let others do the same. When you loot from others, force others, demand and take what is not yours, there will eventually come a time when the price for security and freedom in ones living will equal to risking your life to get rid of you, your looters and your demands, to get ones freedom back by force. It is writen in Declaration of Independence and that statement is true today as it was over 200 years ago. Everything has it's price, make sure you are willing to pay it when the time comes. Leave me be, I'll leave you be, steal from me, I'll take whats mine back PLUS interest. And you are still missing the point. People are not born into slavery. So when one is born, he does NOT own you their life just because you build a road from here to there, or a park that he will use. During the course of his life, if he wishes to use that road, he will have to pay for it through taxes and if he uses that park he will pay with fees. A person starts off with a clean slate. Don't you EVER claim that a person is born with shackles around their ankles. However, because of people like you, the society makes us slaves to all the sickest, poorest, laziest, dumbest, the criminals, the looters, and the leeches in this world, only a slave does not get to keep the product of his labors. The sooner you realize it, the faster you will have your life back.
  17. Volio. You alright? Seriously. " If we burn, we burn for good cause, while US will remain in history as a neo-nazi state, that will thrive thru weaker." ---You can burn all you want. You know what you will be remembered for? NOTHING. As far as US a neo-nazi state, LOL, how about you being a good liberal and go campaign your government on claims that US is voilating human rights, is a neo-nazi state and cease all relations with us, and I mean ALL. "The problems in France are caused by the inability of their politicians. They cannot level differencies between incomes nor they can get rid of the extreme poverty. " ---It is NOT the politicians job to leve the differences between incomes. How can you level the difference between an income of 0 and an income of 30,000? ROFL, yeah, I know how, take it away from the working guy. As far as getting rid of poverty. That is NOT their job either. It is the job of the person who wants a better life, to go find work, open a bussiness, and better his life for HIMSELF, not sit back and complain that he is in poverty. " Almost everyone there has a gun because they fear their neighbour who might have different skin color(and a gun)." ---You must have seen a little too many westerns. Do you know about Europe, there's a little country there called the Swiss. Their gun ownership is unsurpassed even by US. http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3b7f78c351b6.htm As far as skin color goes, nobody has been mentioning it, because it wasn't an issue. It seems to be for you however, so: Learn before you speak. "There are A LOT of political prisoners in US(how sick is that, in the country of free?)." ---What are their names? What political party do they belong to? Back up your accusations with facts. "I wonder what is wrong in socialism? What is wrong in people helping each other out?" ---Nothing, UNLESS you FORCE me to help you. That is not help. That is looting, which is a crime. It is a CRIME to take something that does not belong to you, it is a greater crime to take it by force. "It might be that mankind isnt ready for such advanced thinking. " ---You call taking something that doesn't belong to you advanced thinking? Sorry, hate to break it to you, but NEANDERTHALS practiced that "advanced" thinking. The only advancement the modern man has done to that practice is made it legal. "There are still too many people thinking only their own wellfare." ---In the next paragraph you mention the Maslows pyramid of needs. Then why are you surprised that people think of themselfs first. After all, if every able man sacrificed himself for every unable man, we would all die out. That alone should be a re-inforcment for thinking about your wellfare before the wellfare of others. Second being a simple fact that MY wellfare I feel on my skin, YOURS should be just that, YOURS to worry about. "Apparently some people can't ever ascend over the basic needs, even though they are well satisfied." ---Apparently you haven't studied the pyramid and the text accompanying it. For you simply CAN NOT satisfy the higher needs before you satisfy the lower ones. "I can tell you why others in society are entitled to your wallet. It's because your wealth is made possible by the society around you. " ---That's where you are wrong. Let me disprove it with one statement. If wealth of one was possible because of the society around him, then EVERYONE would be WEALTHY. As we can see that is not the case, which leades to the conclusion that ones wealth is possible because of HIM. "You see, there are infrastructure and institutions like schools, hospitals, police, fire department and etc, that allows you develope or "repair" yourself if needed. There are lawenforcement to keep up the society agreement, there are this there are that." ---Governemnt infrastructure is paid for in taxes. You can exclude hospitals, they are private property, you are NOT entitled to free healthcare just because you were born. You can exclude public schools too (what am I even talking about, public education, LOL, what a joke, the taxes for schools are collected from property owners, meaning if you own a house you pay regardless of you having kids, if you rent and have 5 kids, their education is free because $0.00 of your taxes goes to your own kids schooling). What SHOULD NOT be included in taxes, is ANY kind of social program NOR any kind of wellfare. I pay for government to run, insure courts, law, safety and roads, NOT food, healthcare, retirement for another. That money could go towards my kids, their education, bettering their and mine lives, ect...after all, you should be earning for your family too, just like I earn for mine. "Everything is there for you, and you wonder why others are entitled to your money?" --- You have concluded that since everything that I have paid for with my taxes is there for me. However, you haven't explained as to WHY others are entitled for my money. I have PAID for the infrastructure to be there for me, WHAT makes you think that because I have PAID for the infrastructure to be there I should ALSO PAY for others? Does the meer fact of me having money to pay in taxes means that I also have money that others are entitled to? Haven't I earned that money myself? Haven't I paid for the taxes for the government to run? What makes you think that you are entitled to the money that I have earned? It's not YOUR labor that earned it. Does the condition of being poor entitle you to a paycheck? "If you are suddenly placed into different society wihtout any connections or institutions backing you up. How good are your chances to make yourself a wealth? They are not good, I believe. And thinking this way, it ain't hard to tell why imigrants in France were rioting. They live in almost connectionless context." ---I HAVE been placed into a society with less than $1000 dollars and no ties or institutions backing me up. I REFUSED government GRANTS for schooling. Everything I have today is because of my mother, her hard work, and ME and MY HARD WORK. Considering what I have today, my own car, my own motorcycle, being a pilot and food on the table, I say I've done ok, and COULD have done better. Which takes us back to the FIRST paragraph. Society is NOT the reason you have things, the reason one manages to achieve is because of his OWN POTENTIAL. Which is proven by a single fact that there are people born in US, into middle class family, and yet turn out complete and utter losers, with nothing to show for their lives but a wellfare check. "But you dont want ppl to have social security system. What about then when you have enough those outside the system? You gonna have France." ---Do you even know Frances social security system? Do you know that their companies CAN NOT lay off workers? Do you know that you get a paycheck for life regardless if you work or not? Do you know that all you have to do is show up, breathe, and you get a place to live and food to eat. That's a hell of a way to be "outside the system" and have your Maslows pyramid needs taken care of. If they are "outside the system", where does "inside the system" start. When you have governemnt provided 10 acres of land, 3 acre house and a Ferrari? "The slightly socialist system that we have in nordic coutries is working well and there is definately no sign of crumbling. In Finland, where I am from, the voting percentage in govermental elections is decreasing because of the general satisfactionary of people. They have nothing to complain, since the system works pretty well." --- Or is the decreasing drop in votig percentage due to the wellfare bums outnumbering the working people. And the trend is showing either them giving up and NOT voting since the bums outvote them every time, OR them moving the hell out of the wellfare country. 18. I got this in my e-mail: "A Soap Box Subject WHY WAIT UNTIL 2008? THERE IS AN ELECTION IN 2006. I HEREWITH FIRMLY STATE THAT I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANY POLITICIAN, REGARDLESS OF THE OTHER ISSUES, IF HE DOES NOT SPONSOR AND SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING LEGISLATION. THAT INCLUDES EVERYONE STANDING FOR ELECTION IN 2006. LET US SHOW OUR LEADERS IN WASHINGTON "PEOPLE POWER" AND THE POWER OF THE INTERNET. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE WITH ME ON THIS BY FORWARDING TO EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT! KEEP IT GOING!!!! 2008 Election Issue!! GET A BILL STARTED TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOC. SEC. This must be an issue in "2008" Please! Keep it going. ---------------------------------- SOCIAL SECURITY: (This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.) Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan. For all practical purposes their plan works like this: When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.. For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives. This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries. Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives. Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA....ZILCH... This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds; "OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"! From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into,-every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer)-we can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator! Bill Bradley's benefits! Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made. That change would be to: Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us then sit back..... and see how fast they would fix it. If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve. How many people CAN you send this to? Better yet..... How many people WILL you send this to ?
  19. Recharge times 20 secs, and as powerfull as a pellet gun. Nothing but a toy for kids. As improvments are made, I am sure military might be working on some kind of version of this.
  20. quote:Originally posted by Aperson: The 98 average per day is just due to vandilism in france I would assume (unless your trying to tell me that france has been contiounsly rioting for the past several years) not just due to the "misunderstood and disadvantaged youth" rioting. I've been trying to search for links on how many cars get torched in the United States but so far I've found nothing on yearly rates. But I'm glad you did such a scientific survey on how many cars get torched in the US. Maybe there's a reason why you can not find data about how many cars are TORCHED in US, DAILY. Oh, actually, there were cars torched in US. It was a couple of years ago, some Hummers were torched by enviro-mentals at the dealership. That earned national news. So I am sure if there were 50 cars torched in US daily, let alone 500, we would hear about it.
  21. Um, yeah. Lets do compare it to other countries. People who think that in US there's 100 cars burned a night by missunderstood rioters, raise their hand. And since you want to go that way of comparison. Lets also compare the population size US/France. 297,726,164 / 63,056,200 Yeah, that would mean in US 500 cars would burn per night due to "missunderstood, disadvantaged youth". While I doubt you will have even 20 cars burned, some of those 20 being idiots burning down their old car for fun (such as for a show jackass), some of them old girlfriend/boyfriend revenge, and some just because of individual vandalism. 22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_French_urban_riots "The riots began on Thursday 27 October 2005, and originally in the banlieues of Paris. They peaked on the night of 7 November, affecting 274 communes. On 17 November, the French police declared a return to a normal situation throughout France, saying that the 98 vehicles torched the previous night corresponded to the usual average." ---Ummm...98 per night, AVERAGE for France, so that's 35,770 per year. http://www.e-nough.hmdnsgroup.com/archives/001134.html ---This one is GREAT. I am still waiting for your answer Nomad. Read the article above, look at the pictures, and dare tell me that France is not socialist. Go ahead, try it. http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...251d0b2e&page=1
  23. ROFL, same old same old Nomad. Can't come back with a coherent logical argument for re-destribution of wealth. Can't say anything constructive when I ask: "What makes you feel that you are entitled to my money?" or "What's the difference between the governement statement of "Your money or our jails" and a broke leech pointing a gun and saying "your wallet or your life". Same conclusion, the wealth goes (by force) from those who make it, to those who do not. In case one, it gets there with more waste, in case two, you can at least refuse and fight for what is righfully yours." And what happened to points 1 through 4, you are not going to debate those? The only one that caught your eye is 5? And what about France being socialist? You still haven't either admitted your misstake and concurred that it's socialist, nor have you produced any evidence to the contrary, it's on pages 1 and 2 of this thread, go re-read them, because I still have not forgotten your trademark dissapearance when the discussion takes an unfavorable turn, and a reapearance of a dozen posts later like previous posts have no connection to the new ones. So, you resort to insults. Don't worry, I'll keep ignoring them as I have done in the past. Your opinions are worth just that much as those "smart comments" by the way. Keep it up, you are just embarassing yourself for what comes out of ones mouth shows just that much about him. "If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater the effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders--what would you tell him to do?" "I . . . don't know. What . . . could he do? What would you tell him?" "To shrug."
  24. To Nomad: 1. Comparing Europe to former USSR is like comparing China to North Korea. 2. Communists in Russia swung popular support among the Russian population too. Hence the "Communist Revolution". People supported it, we all saw the results. People in Europe support socialist regimes too, and we all see where that's getting them. We have people coming to US from Europe for flight training because it's pretty much impossible to do it in Europe. They get their FAA issued licences here, and then go to Europe to just take the tests to get the European licences. Guess why they do that? Maybe something to do with you having to pay for ATC use, for every single landing (which can ammount to enormous ammounts during your initial private training when you are learning to land), and excessive regulation. What US should do is impose substantial fees to foreigners looking for flight training (we are already starting to do it, but right now it's nowhere even near substantial) and then see where Europe will get their pilots from. Another thing I see, is Europeans that come to visit US have in common, is complaining about the taxes. One discussion we had was how in US the richest pay 40+% tax while in Europe the poorest pay about that much and how it's strangling those who work and instead of getting rewarded themselfs, they see their money dissapear. People are waking up, and it's happening at a faster and faster rate, especially as Europe is now talking about raising the retirement age and lowering benefits. How do you think those who have "put into the system" (or rather had their money looted) are going to take it? Yeah, the people support socialistic ideas. You know which ones? The ones who profit off of them, NOT the ones who have to work and get nothing in return. LOL 3. How much of that unintergrated Hispanic population is here ILLEGALLY and is leeching off of the wellfare, medicare, and government subsidized child support (extra wellfare) payments. So, while in US it's the exception where people grumble and more and more are yelling at the government to close the borders, deport illegals, and abolish the wellfare, we are already seeing progress, like the Minute Man helping border patrol, statutes of limitations on collecting wellfare, and lawsuits for employing illegals, in EU it's however standard procedure to welcome the poor, get them on wellfare and put the burden on the working citizen. Go ahead and try telling us again that US is similar to EU in it's handling of the illegals and benefits given them, I'll just chuckle, because in 5 to 10 years, if we actually fix our problems, you'll see Hispanics arriving on boats at European coast, and we all know how welcome they will be there, you can't turn them away from the great promise of Socialism, where every man can be integrated and be reliant on the government for support. You can't turn them away, We are all equal, right? 4. How many days did the riots in LA last? How much damage was done? How many days did the riots in France last? Oh, sorry, what do I mean last, they are STILL RIOTING, and what do I mean days, I mean, HOW MANY WEEKS HAS IT BEEN, and how much PROPERTY BEEN DESTROYED? Has the government protected the people, like it's SUPPOSED TO UNDER SOCIALISM? My statement stands, Socialistic government is a failure at not only protecting it's own citizens, but also has made it illegal for it's citizens to protect themselfs. All it does is LEECH off of them and puts them out to pasture when the tough gets going. 5. And what exactly is wrong with your theory of " US's unbalanced distrubution of weal"? It's really simple, if you don't make the money, you shouldn't have any. Sounds unbalanced to you? Sounds just right to me. I am not going to justify government taking away my money to give away to the leeches to buy their promisse not to riot and be content with their living conditions. It's up to them to take care of THEMSELFS, it's NOT my responsibility, just like it's not their responsibility to take care of me. So, the government looting the wealth from those who EARN it, and redistributing it to those who do not, just so that they don't riot, is nothing more than just a pay out to blackmailing, leeching scum, and just reafirms my arguments against socialism and how US is heading in that direction. LOL, it's just like the mob used to collect money from bussineses back in the days, "You pay us for your safety". Instead of me seeing a third of my paycheck dissapear for "protection", I'll keep my guns AND my money. Let them riot.
  25. Major newsflash. Socialism destroys the country within 80 years span. It took that long in Russia, so the reason your countries are not fully collapsed yet is because it's only been 50 years or so. However, you are already starting to feel the pressure, with all the un-employment, the huge taxation (not only tax rate, but the things that they tax too), and now the riots in France with the impotence of the government to do anything about it, but also the impotence of the CITIZENS to do anything about it either. So the government can't protect them, and will not allow them to protect themselfs either. So, basically if not withing this decade then within the next two decades Europe will be what Russia is now. You all hang tight. Hope your funds help you out when the economy gets so bad that instead of buying wood you can burn money for heat (if anyone here knows history then they know that money were burned for heat in Europe before, they simply weren't worth the paper they were printed on), AND (in Russian it costs HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS to buy some jeans, welcome to post economic collapse and inflation). Who would be better off? European citizens and rioting thugs or US citizens and rioting thugs?
