  1. Interesting, but what does this have to do with GBS?
  2. Appearantly he divised some kind of course plotting gizmo. Are the bunnies having trouble reading maps perhaps? Was about to write about not having received your email, Pugwash, but I just noticed your PM. [uPDATE] Are they just doing it to tease me? problem solved. atleast, I can read it behind this comp. anyway, I'm happy [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
  3. Replied to you both, an hour ago or so. That is to say, not you, Demolition, but Remo and Stephanos. [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
  4. Hide it into a shuttle or OC next to the Empirian ale and move to an appropriate (illegal friendly) station and get rid of it. Or just flush it out. I believe the manual states you have an incenerator onboard somewhere, try logistix. [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
  5. Well, IIRC Cmdr Nova was granted to put the appendix on his site at some point in the near future. Don't know what ever happend to that. But maybe you could just zip up the html files of the appendix and take it with you to work or whatever.
  6. Space dragons? Now you mention it, I have been wondering if I could find this nebula part in the space backdrops that looks like a dragon's head. Have yet to find it. But the resolution is probably not appropriate. Blackholes: Avoid at all cost. Lethal. (And btw, jumppoint in Mars leads to one.)
  7. Depends, craft/objects statistics have most noticably changed and increased, also more detailed IMO. There's a bunch of new trade items and price/volume data have changed I think. But the universe layout, race/caste description, have stayed the same. But why the question? If you play the game (why else need the data), shouldn't you allready have the online appendix and manual?
  8. quote:Of COURSE I had the laptop on the passenger seat - complete with my Motorola phone and wireless adapter for the laptop modem. But I swear I never opened it....except when I was testing the modem+cell phone connection at the first stop I made for gas. [RP] What!!??!! (whacks the SC) We told you not to do that! NOW, lead that cheese sandwich DOWN THE HATCH at some other motel or something, and not stuff it in your ears! [RP] Still, a pad on the back for not actually checking Commlink with it. I'm extremely happy to hear this whole event turned out to be much more like a supernova instead of 'the big crunch'. Couldn't keep myself dry either. Not all is lost. Life continues, only in a different form. And shedding off weight from SC's shoulders. p.s. If you ever do cross the big pond, don't burn that rubber here in the Netherlands. Cops here will nail you for having that detector, sometime next year. (goes back to adress his own pathetic life) [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
  9. quote:I'm now wondering what the point is in launching an all out planetary assult if there is no way the ground territory can be brought under Neutral or Galcom control. This would be to minimize planet based enemy attacks on the newly captured starstation.Simple, the sadistic fun of watching the NPCs suffer under your wraith. It takes quite a while before those objects are recovered to fun strength. True though, there's a whole planet full of them, so you'll have your hands full keeping them down in the mud. I'm not absolutely sure, but since I haven't seen much (or any really) planet-space NPC traffic lately I doubt planet-based forces wil try to retake the station up in orbit. Space-based NPCs are a higher priority for you.
  10. Primary email: [email protected] ; or secondarily checked/BC intended: [email protected] ; or if by any chance those don't work my spam trashbin: [email protected] ICQ : 85776327 aswel
  11. quote:StarStations aka StarBases Starstations are NOT also known as starbases. Stations are in space, and bases on the planet/moon surface. Just for the record.
  12. I don't know either. Don't come down there much. I just thouroughly searched the (latest) version control file that came with the freeware version, and it only mentions capture together with (star)stations, never with (star)bases. And there is a very strickt distinction between stations and bases, being spacebound and surface bound respectively. So my guess is you are not supposed be able to. You can allways try, but it could allways be that that causes problems to your savegame further down the road. Try it with a new profile. And your bc was never designed to go planetside anyway, so if you do try, don't use that one.
  13. (feels overly self-confident) Sorry, SC, you came in at the wrong moment. We've had better times this evening.
  14. like it says, wasn't any need to change the name. just place them along the rest.
  15. It's in the trouble shooting faq (bcmfaq.html).
  16. There's allways the chance I did something wrong, but going by the latest version (5.91 32-bit): -File/Options menu: press the "Add" button on the popping up window (the "connect" branch on the left is allready selected). -Enter (any arbitrary) description, also the chat.server.something string below that, I left the port number as-is (appearantly a standard), leave the group entry empty (wasn't mentioned on the other thread page), and password shouldn't be neccessary as it is a public chat server. - close the (2nd smaller entry) window with the add button. - press the wide 'connect to server' button to start connecting to it. If all goes well you'll eventually get logged on and you can select a channel. But mine just says "Unable to connect (Connection refused)" and it keeps trying. 17. quote: Saturday/Sunday, December 15/16 4 PM-9 PM Eastern Time US (GMT -5) 9 PM-2 AM GMT 0 (For all you UKers out there.) My guess that would be: 4pm-9pm (saturday afternoon/evening) for the US people, and ... 9pm-2am (saturday evening until sunday night/early morning) for (us) 'near UK'-ers. I'm ready to drop in, if I'm allowed that is. My guess is that the suggested server is not working anymore. As I have no problem connecting other servers (mentioned in Mirc). Or else I'm at a loss. 18. Just tried to log on thru starnova and mirc according to the link on the other page, but both seemed to be inoperable. Unable to connect to server. Can anyone confirm this? Or is my firewall crisping those packets? (Actually no, can't be. Turned it off for a moment. Same result.)
  19. Pugwash, that link doesn't work. Neither Netscape or IE can find the server. You sure it's up there?
  20. Yeah, no need to keep the same theme along the structure. But if you like dogs too (hmm?, didn't I used to be in gamma's 1st? ), even three headed ones, then who am I to argue. Just as long they know not to bark at the master, ok?
  21. I emailed BMT last friday (1st??) but didn't get any reply until I mailed them again last wednesday (5th). Then Jen repliedsaying they kicked mine out the door on 27-11. She said they didn't send out confirmation email as that would cause further delays. I don't know when exactly it arrived in my mail, as I wasn't at home the last week. But I was pleasantly surprised yesterday. One downside was that it didn't came with the box. Appearantly I was too late for that.
  22. quote:However, as a former U.S. Marine, the role of Marine also appeals to me... just give me some men to command into battle!Whoops!! Should've known that. I think I just made the wrong remark ending my reply to his email. I hope he saw that . Ahh well, he'll notice BCM marine intellect soon enough.
  23. Maybe you could tape or glue something to the throttle area of the base to prevent the lever to completely pull back. (Oh wait, you said you have a wheel ... well, then I guess you need to turn it into a lever. ) Ofcourse, you should do this after you have the throttle calibrated or else you will establish a new zero position at that setting. I know it's a messy way, but it is a workaround. [ 12-05-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]
