ok, They seem to me to be designed as a fast stealthy carrier. Ideal for Intel. Extra cloaking fuel and all. Most of the other heavy carriers strengths are directly battle related. Hopefully not of a much use to me. I come from a submarine background and hope to play stealthy and chose my battles and do so sparingly. There we go! I would feel bad about it taking me four tries to figure it out, had I not seen the umpteen posts by an unnamed senior officer. Of course I also figured out that it would update my signature if I edited an old post instead of posting yet another test post.

I applied for ISS yesterday. Did the emessage get thru? I also attempted to put an eentry in the fleet database, but I haven't checked it yet.

When I launch the game I get a PlayCutscene Error message that says. Failed(0x80004002) to set message drain for D:Program Files3000ADBattlecruiser Millenniumgfxavi3klogo.avi. This sample is designed to play videos, but the file selected has no video component. When I go into the folder in windows I just get audio when i play the file with media player. The other avi's do play video however. Running Win2k with latest service pack. while you are holding the door open for JJ let me make it easier for him. I'll start. I've just finished reading the manual. I have just started a ROAM campaign and am working on figuring out the Drone usage. I've deployed them to various sectors on Earth to mine. I find myself wondering the following: Is there any way to no or have indication if a spot or sector is likely to yield results? What types of Planet/Moons yield what types of minerals? If you get nothing in one spot in a sector is there any point trying somewhere else in the same sector? How long should you allow before looking to see if they've mined anything? I guess that should be enough questions for one nub.

Great soapbox, and I wouldn't want you to be any other way! Two things really caught my eye. 1. Had to fire the guy who was supposed to do the manual, Man I feel for you. To think after the monumental task of designing the game, and you couldn't even get someone to realiably and honestly write the manual. Tough pill to swallow. 2. The mention of Wizardry 8 and that other independent developer. No doubt Sir-Tech. Would love to here what SC has to say about that company and their situation. I've been a longtime fan of the Jagged Alliance series and hate to think it will be no more.

Thanks I'll do that. I also found a link to the pre release VCF that worked last night and have saved it on my laptop since I have yet to read all of it. I wish there was going to be an electronic manual available, but I respect SCs decision not to more than I can put into words. Of course if more designers had the determination he does to do things the way they want I probably wouldn't be able to hold a job since I'd be playing all the time.

Oh yes please! I have 3 days of VPN training in Huntsville next week, and I could use some reading for the hotel room.

The VCF doesn't seem to be there anymore. It says END OF FILE and has a 00/00/00 date. Is that temporary I hope?
