It totally boggles the mind how some of you n00bs expect to play such an advanced and time consuming game, when you don't even know ANYTHING about the computer you're using. This never ceases to amaze me. Seriously. quote: Originally posted by Lord FireFox: Also the MD5 does not download correctly. Thats because you don't know how to download files. So, uhm, what exactly is new? Thats it?
-
Thats because 2.00.00 is based on DirectX 8. All later patches are DirectX 9. And yes, you two are the only folks having problems with those cards. Check your card drivers, DirectX installation etc.

There were NO changes to scenarios nor the world or graphics engine in this update. So, whatever graphics problems you folks are having, has nothing to do with the patch nor the game.

In this case, you will have to seek independent expertises by prestigious doctors and may have to protect your interests in court. Yep; got all that covered. -

Nomad, you are 100% correct about that. Exactly what you said about getting a PET is what my surgeon just this past week told me he's probably going to have me do sometime this month. -

I did get hurt. I still have very bad back pains and I'm seeing a chiropractor four times a week now. I had an MRI scan done as well. The problem is that I can't sit at one place for an extended period of time. As for Europeans, I've always liked German cars. The only non-German cars I've ever owned, were my Ferrari and a Honda CRV (which my BMW X3 replaced) which I bought because I didn't want the over priced X5 and the X3 was not available at the time. -
Cue in the next MMO disaster. Well, if you believe Worthplaying's preview, as well as the countless ...it sux! posts coming from the Beta testers.

I am only mentioning it now because of a post I just made about Billy Wilson passing away which just shows how sudden and fragile life can be. I didn't make it public, but I was involved in a car crash on 02-16-05 when some idiot - in rush hour traffic - rearended my 500SL; which the insurance company later totaled two days later. Naturally, he is in a world of trouble, since FHP wrote him a ticket for reckless driving. At least he had good insurance. Of course that doesn't help me, given that GEICO totaled my classic 500SL and didn't pay me enough to get a new one (these days, the new SL500 roadsters run for $110K incl options) since the GAP had already run out. So, I did what comes naturally. I went and got a new and loaded Iridium Silver SLK350 roadster. In making my choice, I didn't believe that the SL500 was worth the money, given that for me, it would be a third car that didn't get driven a lot. The SLK350 ran me close to $65K with everything (GAP, extended warranty, options, blah, blah, blah) and its a nice ride. A lot more comfortable than my buddy's Porche Boxter. Now he wants one too. hehe [ 03-15-2005, 08:43 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Well this came out of nowhere. Billy was the original founder of VoodooExtreme and Gaming Groove. Odd that nobody is saying how he died though. I had a spectacular car crash myself on 02-16-05 and I can't imagine how I walked away from it.

Check the reg page. The online VCF has also been updated. You have to positively read the VCF before applying this patch. You have been warned. For those of you new to UC. You need to install the v2.00.00 patch first, before installing this patch on top of it. The MD5 hash file is also on the page. You can use a program such as WinMD5 to compare this hash against the file you downloaded. To check the download's MD5 hash, do the following: download the patch and extract the contents into the game install folder. Run winMD5 (or similar program) Go to File/Open MD5 file and load the patch MD5 file located in the game install folder. Go to File/Open File and load the patch file you downloaded above. If winMD5 reports the status as good, then your patch downloaded correctly and can be used to patch the game. WARNING: Due to users going from the base 2.00.00 patch to the current 2.00.xx patch; this patch WILL delete ALL saved games. So, if you are upgrading from 2.00.19 or higher, backup the files in the SAVE folder before applying the patch. If you run an mp server, you should also backup your UCSETUPMP.INI file. After applying the patch, copy them back to the SAVE folder. If you attempt to do this with any saved game version earlier than the specified version, good luck bud.

I watched her on CNN this morning and words simply cannot express my feelings and thoughts for this brave and courageous woman. Truly moving stuff. You can read the text transcript here; but if you can, find a newsfeed of the video.

I keep seeing you always put 'Read the Manual' but it doesnt really work all the time. Not everyone can be as highly intelligent and read between the lines when reading the manual, and it is pretty thick, and some 'simple minds' can be confused. I don't develop my games for simple minded stupid people. If that were the case, I'd be developing other types of games. It doesn't take intelligence to RTFM; it takes common sense because thats WHY I wrote a manual to begin with. WHAT is the point of posting stuff that is already quite detailed in the manual? Not to mention the tutorial. Is your miniscule game purchase paying for the resources it takes to run this board? quote: Could you like, lighten up. You are a moderator of a forum, which its common sense n00b players will come to, to ask questions on things that they do not understand. A little politeness and help goes a long wayI don't need to lighten up in order to inject common sense into someone. If you don't like how we do things around here, leave - and don't come back. Your $19.99 is inconsequential within the general scheme of things; simply because, well, I don't care about your feelings - or anyone else's. If you - or anyone else - has self-esteem issues; see a shrink. I'm a game developer not a diplomat or a nanny; and I don't cater to people who can't follow SIMPLE instructions. If you can't follow simple intructions, you shouldn't be playing my games; since having a fully developed and functional brain, is a pre-requisite. For the same reason that some people go out and buy computers simply because they don't know how to build one from purchased components. The next time you find it necessary to tell me how to run my board; don't - or you won't make it to post 49. [ 03-14-2005, 08:42 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

I didn't go this year, but boy would I have loved to have gone and been in this panel. [ 03-14-2005, 10:49 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -
Oh man, if you like psychological thrillers in the vein of Donnia Darko, The Butterfly Effect et al, you will love this movie. Just be prepared to have your head messed with before it all starts making sense. This movie didn't open with any fanfare, but I thought it was quite good. 9/10

I just know Scriv is gonna hate this one; but I liked it. I wasn't expecting much when I went in. And no, its definitely not Die Hard In A House as some have made it out to be. I thought it was quite good and Bruce Willis was depicted as just a regular [hard ass] cop with responsibilities, feelings etc. Ignore the reviews and the stupid critics; and go see it if you're a Willis fan. 9/10
