If you missed the bowl ads, you might want to see the Reebok/Terry Tate ad. It is the most frigging hilarious thing I have ever seen. Do this www.reebok.com/terrytate select the Quicktime version If prompted for username/password, use [email protected] and games Once the QT version starts, pause it (click on the Play button) and wait until it finishes downloading. Now unpause it and watch it If you don't pause it, you will get choppy download playback and will ruin the flow of the ad. It is friggging hilarious.

Tom's review is complete and utter biased rubbish. Yes, the fan on the FX card is LOUD. Then again, its time to buy insulating sheets and line the inside of the case with it.

This patch has been released. It is HIGHLY recommended that everyone update to this patch asap because it fixes a serious problem related to NPC units sometimes (only when AG occurs) going out of the region limit and bogging down the system. It is a FULL patch which can be applied to ANY version of BCM. The mirrors should be updated shortly. If you wish to use your saved games from the previous 1.08.33 version or higher, you should move the files in the SAVE folder to a safe location, patch, then copy them back to the SAVE folder. Check the downloads page for the link. The online VCF has also been updated. [ 04-01-2003, 09:05 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Yeah, that does look odd. Will check it out later today. Looks like that sheer cliff is what is causing the problem because the terrain was not flattened at that location (probably due to the ocean nearby); causing the buildings on that portion to be suspended in the air because the engine thinks they are on flat ground (since it won't orient them at an angle to match the incline).

Stations get resupplied each time an NPC resupply ship docks. This is mentioned in the VCF I think.

In fact, the PTA system doesn't even use the Tacscan radar system. The PTA system has a list which contains all targets within range of the turrets. From this list, the system filters out friendly targets and fires upon hostile targets. It is sometimes possible for the turrets to not fire on some targets and this will happen if the targets list is full or if a friendly target is within the turretÔÇÖs line of fire. As targets are flushed from the list (i.e. destroyed, no longer in range etc) new entries are added.

Its just a prototype so far and is not final. The final version will up - along with the BCG one - when they're done.

And you guys think I'm bad. I got sent this hilarious bit via email this morning. Make sure you're not eating or drinking anything when you read it. quote: This has got to be one of the funniest I've heard of in a long time. I think this guy should have been promoted, not fired. This is a true story from the Word Perfect Help line which was transcribed from a recording monitoring the customer care department. Needless to say the Help Desk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the Word Perfect organization for "Termination without Cause." Actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee (now I know why they record these conversations)! "Ridge Hall computer assistance; may I help you?" "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect." "What sort of trouble?" "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away." "Went away?" "They disappeared." "Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?" "Nothing." "Nothing?" "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type." "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?" "How do I tell?" "Can you see the C: prompt on the screen?" "What's a sea-prompt?" "Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?" "There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type." "Does your monitor have a power indicator?" "What's a monitor?" "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. " Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?" "I don't know." "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?" "Yes, I think so." "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall." "Yes, it is." "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?" "No." "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable." "Okay, here it is." "Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer." "I can't reach." "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?" "No." "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?" "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle -- it's because it's dark." "Dark?" "Yes, -the office light is off, and the only light I have is from the window." "Well, turn on the office light then." "I can't." "No? Why not?" "Because there's a power failure." "A power... A power failure? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?! " "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet." "Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from." "Really? Is it that bad?" "Yes, I'm afraid it is." "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?" "Tell them you're too damn stupid to own a computer."

OMG!! That looks wicked, doesn't it?

Everytime I load them up via resume or restore they freeze on me a few seconds later.. I'll look through my other saves * there are 3 saves I know of that dont have this freeze up problem* Saved games work fine, as long as they were created using the correct game version. The ONLY time they will not load is if they were started with an unsupported game version or they are corrupted. I use saved games all the time - and so far, you're the only person who has corrupted saved games. Weren't you the same person with that corrupted game regarding waypoints? You need to start thinking about actually installing and patching the game properly. Then starting a fresh game.

If someone were smart enough to search for PTA in the forums, I'd bet they'd find the accurate description on how it works.

Thanks Tac!

quote: Originally posted by Kartoffel: I have come across a bug(?) regarding the PTA turrets on heavy carriers. They're not firing nearly as often as they should. The capacitor appears to work fine, discharging, and recharging, but no PTA fx or damage done to enemies in range. Both sets of cruiser turrets work fine, and so do super carrier turrets. However NPC heavy carriers appeared to be unable to fire as much as they should. I have uninstalled BCM, deleted the directory, reinstalled, and patched to 1.0.08RC23, then to RC32. Same problem. Any idea what's causing this? Works as designed. Learn how the PTA system works

You might want to start with a new install then patch to RC23 and then RC32. Then see if you can reproduce either.

The rest of the gunship shots are up. Phantom and Firebug gunships due out soon.
