Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in PC Gaming & Technology

Yeah, Cc definitely holds the forum ban record. That other twit who used to cross post on the DC forums is a close second. As of today, the ol' gal is #1 on the Fileplanet space sims download list again! http://www.fileplanet.com/section.aspx?s=49748&v=0

This game is a feat of engineering and writing. I'm having a blast and playing the "honest" way. So far, I've only been beaten twice when I tried to jack someone's car. The other day, after my date with Michelle, I went back to the safehouse and believe you mean, I sat and watched the TV for almost thirty minutes. The segments are frigging hilarious. Not to mention the hilarious talk radio station. I had first bought it for the PS3 because I like to balance my console gaming library. I had to exchange it for the XB360 version because it would lock up and other crazy things unless I actually disabled the network connection - which of course meant that I couldn't play multiplayer later if I wanted to. Crazy stuff.

yeah, this one has been making the rounds all week and I chimed in on a few forums myself. http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?...;threadid=87481 That whole auth every ten days is just crazy stuff. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/5/9/ -
uhm, I think my dev blogs clearly list the reasons I decided to do some lighter games instead of moving forward with the next Battlecruiser game (which was aptly named Battlecruiser Next Generation). The bottom line is that any future BC game would require a major re-write because I've got far too many legacy (but working) technology lurking in my engines. Even with GCES, it took the better part of a year due to the ripping out of legacy stuff, adding new stuff...which broke what once worked...etc etc It would take at least two years and upwards of about $1.5m to do another game in the BC/UC vein. Given the current industry climate, we won't have a revenue stream during that period. So it is a huge risk. With the lighter fare GALCOM games, they are quicker to do, far less complex and I can rip stuff out in bite sized chunks and still be able to release a new game without betting the farm and something goes wrong down the road. So, for now I don't have any plans for a new title in the BC/UC realm. Its just too risk.

Wasn't it just a few dev blogs ago I was talking about those idiots at Intel causing problems and saturation with their sub-par integrated graphics chipsets? Well, after all the fanfare, those fuckers are back at it again. Only this time, its worse than I thought. http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/06/intel-b...vidia-says-not/

What do people have against this game?
Supreme Cmdr replied to SpiderOfDestiny's topic in General Chatter
Its par for the course. Even the best games have their haters. So I wouldn't concern myself with this crap if I were you. -
Sequel - and Thor (!) coming in 2010 http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/080505/20080505005656.html?.v=1 I can't wait to see which blonde Hollywood beafcake they're going to cast the God Of Thunder. That one should be interesting.

Videogame piracy and the PC gaming industry

No it doesn't. The copy protection used in digital distribution games is no more harder to defeat than the ones used on CD/DVD media. -

I just came back from seeing it again. What ever you do, stay until AFTER the credits for a big surprise!!!

OMG!! If this movie doesn't bring out the big kid in you, nothing will. RDJ nailed the part down perfectly. Growing up this character was one of my fav comic icons and I'm glad that unlike Daredevil and Electra, this movie came out perfectly. I loved it! Man Stark's toys - not to mention the special FX - will make you giddy with geek lust. 10/10

Issues with Reversed Roll inputs
Supreme Cmdr replied to hellfire64's topic in Galactic Command - Echo Squad
Ace, try it now with the latest patch and let me know if it now works with that stick. -
Yes, but this thread is taking about the availability of good games on XBLA. You hijacked the thread and turned it into an issue related to MS delivery medium. The two are completely different. If you want to discuss the latter, create a new thread.
-
The availability and delivery of games over XBLA has nothing to do with the issues you cited. Its no different that any other form of digital distribution. The bottom line is that MS is - once again - screwing up something that just works.
-
No doubt you guys saw this all over the net this week. And thats exactly what I was talking about in my latest dev update about XBLA publishing.

NPC marines disappear after given dock orders
Supreme Cmdr replied to Matchoo's topic in Universal Combat Series
It is documented in the manual and the game's VCF that going prone makes you - and NPC - invisible on radar and thus can only be seen at close (line-of-sight) range. -
