No, No, you mis-understand. By applying the 1.0.0.5 bug I lost my saved game (expected as I had read the VCF) and hence lost the problem. Before anyone gets the idea I am complaining about that I'm not, the frequent patches are superb showing a commitment to the game that few other manufacturers have. I posted cause I thought I had missed a trick on how to deal with my dead interceptor. Hopefully it wont happen again as next time my marines will be waiting for those intruders !

Thanks for all the advice, I think Gordon was probably right. However I have solved this one myself, I have applied the 1.0.0.5 patch and voila the problem's gone away. Now where was that station that sold me the Celestial orb for 50,000 ?

Thanks for the reply, I have re-read pg 37. I have repaired systems before successfully so dont think it is me (this time) ! However re-reading the manual it says 'if a system is badly damaged or destroyed it must be replaced' and 'Also some systems cannot be replaced, only repaired'. I think the engine & nav computer must be some of these systems. So I think I have a wrecked Interceptor ! Damn those intruders !! So I guess I need to replace it, but before I do I need to get rid of the wrecked interceptor. Any ideas ? Thanks.

Thanks to some pesky intruders I know have an intercepter with an engine at 0% & nav computer at 0%. I have repaired all the other systems successfully but cannot repair these two. I have tried at Galcom HQ and by buying the parts and repairing in space. In neither case does the repair or replace button light up despite all systems on my CC being 100%. The manual does say that some systems cannot be repaired / replaced. So if the interceptor is a write off and not repairable how do I get rid of it so that I can replace it ? I dont think I have missed anything in the manual and I cant find any other posts on this subject. Can anybody help ? Thanks
