So we also will be ordering about 35 memory upgrades and some hard drives.

Just interesting to me, the different way companies go about maintaining computers. For example, where I work, any new computer is a 64-bit Athlon with 1Gig of memory, HOWEVER, all old equipment is kept until it dies or catches on fire. We still have PII/350's running W2K and OS/2. We removed our last Win95 PC last year, only because it didn't work anymore.

  2. In my current mood, all this does is make me laugh. I picture a fat liberal or conservative reading the paper smoking a fat cigar who has just passed a law stating that fat men reading newspapers can't smoke fat cigars (congress immune of course).

One possibility that comes to mind is that there are smart people who can handle smoking and oh, I don't know, stuff like driving while talking on a cell phone. People exist who can do this without causing any problems whatsoever. I was going to say that maybe congressmen are a sub-group of these people, but that's just, well, "complete and utter rubbish."

Though, maybe the woman who lost so much of her innards needs to be protected by these laws whereas congress does not, because congressmen or woman will never sue a tobacco company for malfeasance after using their product for 35 years.

Maybe Congress is retarded but don't cry when their own choices negatively affect their lives?

    I dunno, man... I dunno.

  3. It's my understanding that for Christians, taking the Lord's name in vain is a sin. For Islam, presenting images of Mohammed is a sin. For Christians, if someone DOES take the Lord's name in vain, it's ÔÇ£I pray for their soulsÔÇØ. My impression is that images of Mohammed are not tolerated in Islam-land. ÔÇ£Stop sinning or we'll kill you, as you are obviously the devil.ÔÇØ

Americans (me included) believe in free speech. If I wish to make fun of Mohammed or Jehovah, that's up to me and I'll do as I like. That's freedom. What I don't think is right is going to a neighbor's house, full of Mohammed worshipers and showing them this cool cartoon I found and expect them not to get angry.

Any religion that forces me (a follower of that religion) to forcibly eradicate those who don't believe what I believe in can go to hell.

Personally, I think the human race is a bit immature to handle freedom. Just too dumb, ya know?

I wouldnÔÇÖt mind a WWIII. Go ahead, wipe us all out. That way I wouldnÔÇÖt have to worry about stuff like taxes and trying to decide what to do about people who make millions of dollars a year and laugh as children die from starvation. (what, theyÔÇÖre NOT insane? please.)

  4. I'd love to see cards like:

"You're a damned [email protected]#hole and I hope you die."

    --(blank inside)

    "You suck."

--"No joke, you really do. Piss off."

    "What's with your face?"

--"It doesn't match that horrid stench of yours at all!"

    "Can I borrow $500?"

    --[]Yes []No

    "Congratulations on posting bail!!"

    --(blank inside)

"Hey, glad I caught you before you moved away,"

--"Don't forget to get that dead car parked in front of my house outta there!"

"Go ahead, touch my sister again,"

--"I'm looking to turn something that was alive into shattered mud."

"Do you cheat at everything you do?"

    --"Damn, man, have some respect!"

    "Hey! - Nice boob job!"

    --(blank inside)

    "I'm calling it off."

--"You just creep me out to much. Bye."

. Not only do they no longer have the rights to neither BCM Gold nor UC, but they didn't have the rights to manufacture a new SKU.

They actually took our original MS Word manual manuscript, converted it to PDF, then included it on a separate CD-ROM.

OMG... what the hell is wrong with them?? What gets me is that somebody high up in their little dreamville empire suggested, "hey, let's just sell it anyway even though we have no right to and use the profits to upgrade our office cafeteria" and the guy "running" the show smiles cheerfully, uttering a possible "Great idea, Henderson - you've got a green light!"

Either they're truly ill, or truly stupid.

  6. Obviously Bush won't be running again, and yes, it's just one poll (instead of a series of independent, concurrent polls), but I think (or hope) it's an accurate reflection of how people feel about the leader they've chosen.

Dems are putting their feet down against the Reps, and I hope it keeps up:

Why I refer to this is not to talk of the Iraq war (as it's not subject of this thread!), but to refer to Majority Leader Bill Frist's comment, "this is an affront to me personally," - I think it odd that any party leader (not just a Rep) would find a foot-placing demand for an investigation into something that was started, that may or may not have been based on lies, a personal affront but not the (alleged) blatant lies themselves.

Ain't that the truth. So many times, somebody comes to me with a problem, and when I ask them how long it's been since it worked, I'm told "a month."

  7. $207+ and 3+ hours. Wow. Trailer looks AWESOME. Well, I never saw "Braindead" or "Heavenly Creatures" but "The Frighteners" was okay, and of course the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I think Kong will be good, because like Scrivener said, it's his dream project and I think he's got the story in mind and not $$ or fame or anything else, and he's already proven he can make epic movies well.

It won't suck. But at a budgeted $207m, it's going to have to not suck a lot.

  8. Well, God bless democracy. I'll be happy if Iraq can pull itself together (with interational/US support), and am glad they won the lottery to receive spontaneous democracy.

God works in mysterious ways they say. By having terrorist fly planes into tall buildings, a third uninvolved country receives democracy!! Woo-hoo!

I hope all the other non-democratic countries don't receive their spontaneous democracy with such horrid implimentation.

  9. I'm surprised about two things:

    1) A Bush supporter on this forum actually admitted that Bush wasn't perfect.

    2) Many seem to have forgotten how Clinton got the gov going on surplusses instead of deficits (I'm not arguing about it either. Believe what you want).

And I thought Reagan did a good thing by beefing up our military and out-bluffing the soviets to end the cold war, no?

Hahaha... whatever. Have a good month, everyone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dual-processor systems aren't really advantageous at the moment, unless the system is a server, as applications are rarely written to make use of them.

In order for the games SC makes to take advantage of a dual-processor system, SC would have to make them to do so, which as I understand it, would be a waste of time, seeing as how only, what? 3% of the people have them?

Again, correct me if I'm wrong...
