I was wondering if someone familiar with the 3D format for BC models could write a 3DS > 3D converter? For those of us without the cash to get MAX (legally) and who have access to other rendering tools that export to 3DS format(like most do)

I'e tried jumping to waypoints, and it doesnt work, either manually or with AI control. This seems to be true for any of your craft, not just the CC, and not just with yourself in the cockpit

Check the info on XP1. They're already going to add it

Sounds like a directx problem, so you should prolly try reinstalling DirectX. I know from experience when programs start asking for dll's, finding one usually only causes it to ask for another, then another, then another, and by the time you got them all, you just manually installed DX

It's in the VCF. But since some people are lazier than me, I'll tell ya here that all 'harmless' castes automagicly get an escort of somekind. Usually the escort is just a couple of armed transports, but it's better than nothing.

Simple question: Why will the public MP servers only be able to run 16 player time-limited games? Reason I ask this is because I know there are people out there with the high-end connections and high-end systems that could easily run a 64 player persistant server, and it would give people for whom fleets arent their style a chance to play a 'big game' outside of the 3000AD servers.

From what I read of the XP1 features list, we'll have something similar in XP1. And that something would be that you can only see whats under your ship on a planet's surface, when in orbit of that planet. If someone wanted to join a race/caste that had no fleets or guilds or what have you associated with them, would they be allowed to be that race/caste in the DB and MP as an independant? I.E. I want to be a FAL/MIL carrier commander, but there are no fleets that they would fall under the jurisdiction of. Cant be in a Galcom fleet because Falkeries are neutral to them and arent a member race. Cant be in a Gammulan fleet because FAL/MIL is hostile to GAM/MIL. I know it may not make it into the game, but I had to voice my idea before I forgot it (it happens). Maybe it'll make it into a patch, or GCO, who knows. And maybe I'll finally have something in a game to call a 'Parts B**ch'

I havent noticed it posted here or in the VCF before, but if it has been then let me know. But I have an idea regarding how to aquire spare-parts, that is rather realistic. How about we be allowed to canabalize spare fighters/shuttles/ATVs/etc. for spare parts and equippment. Maybe also be able to do the same to active fighters that have no hope of being fixed. Strip off that last working computer unit befor you put the poor thing out of it's misury That would be much easier than having to figure out how many of what spares to carry along on your ship. Though the trade-off would obviously be that a spare vehicle would be much larger in the cargo hold than it's parts (ever seen an F-16 in a cargo crate? 'nuff said). Ok, I'm done, please dont step on me for my lousy spelling

As mentioned, X-BTF and X:T are both more about trade, where as BCM is more about the military side of things. As such, it's a much more challenging game if you stick with the trading side primary, and only use combat as a cure for bordem when missions aren't available....of course you can also do what I do: Take one of those big @$$ TL-class supertransports and go ram some poor merchants...
