It must be my computer. Tried the install on another w2k machine and it works fine. I'll try to track down what is causing my problem.

Thank you. I have 2 computers available here. It does not work on either one. I will try my Granddaughters machine this weekend. In the meantime I ran over to EBGames in the Mall near me and got a replacement copy. I have the same problem with the replacement disk. I find it hard to believe it is the disk. If anyone is using win2K please let me know if you can get it to work. It would be a great help to know. Thank you

Thank you. I read all of that, I think , carefully. There is no shortcut to the multiplayer game. At least none that I can find. SC: do you think I have a "bad" version of Gold. I can' seem to find the version number anywhere. I assume it is supposed to be 1.04 Thank you for the help.

Thank you for the help. I tried all the open -close , restart suggestions and none of them seem to work I did find the no-disc crack and the game does start but it appears that there is no multi-player selection in the main menu. Guess I will try to return the disk to EBGames. Is a pain since I ordered it from their web site. Oh well. Thanks again for tthe quick response. Its always best to know when your in trouble rather than trying every thing in sight..

Just received BCMGold . I removed the old BCM, Shutdown all running programs and the install went without any problem. When trying to start the game it asks for the correct CD although the cd is in the drive. DreamCatcher Support says I should send the disk back to EBGames. I really dont believe the cd is faulty. Hi!. I tried to use the new 1.08.00 path It indicates that it cannot find the correct CD Rom Patch 10836 works fine What am I missing ???? Thank you

I have tried to figure out what Im doing wrong but I now have to ask I am in space off a planet with the intention of transfering to a shuttle to land on the planet. I never make it to the shuttle. Before long I get the information that planetfall is underway. I have made sure there is no motion toward the planet and I have used shift+` . Clearly I am not doing something correctly.

I think I solved my problem with CTD and reboots and corrupted saves. Win2000 allows for multiple operating systems. I installed a new win2000 OS with just the essentials to run BCM. It has been running for 2 game days without any problems. Its a fantastic sim and you can really get lost in it when the crashes no longer occur. Thank you SC.

I thought things had settled down but i am still getting CTD's Logistix>Crafts>FC>4 Shows Tacscan computer at 68% Click on it to try to repair and get CTD. Seems reproducable..I've tried it 5 times

I bit the bullet and re-installed win2K.... ALL the problem are gone. Something, not BCM, clobbered the OS. Everything now works, including those save that would not load in the past. Thank you all for your help.

Just a shot in the dark in hopes that someone will have a suggestion. For no clear reason All saved games, all instant action and all training missions no longer function. They start and I can control the action with the joystick, but as soon as I attempt to make a keyboard entry {Alt-T} for example. I get a CTD. I have un-installed and re-installed BCM then updated with the new patch ( in the BCM folder) I re-installed the nvidia drivers with the 2311 drivers. If there are no other suggestions I will have to re-install windows 2000 {ugh}. Any help is appreciated.

I notice in reading thru the forum posts that two major pieces of "advice" are give One is to RTFM , and this I understand the other refers to an appendix. My manual does not have an appendix. Is there one for BCM and if so where can I find it. Thank you

I am not docked Im in space near Mars. In Logistix>Crafts>Deck1 I see Bridge and Navitron Computer Cyan and 100% Looking at the details of the Bridge I see the repair light lit: OPR Status is 100% Completed is 100% Assigned is 5 Standby is 5 Status is Scheduled For the Navitron Computer it looks the same. Repair is expected in a minute... After 5 minutes the repairs are suspended. What have i missed in the manual. ????? Thank you

Interestingly enough. I decided to try to reproduce this problem on another computer here at home. Needless to say the save loaded and started without incident. Seems that it must be system related. I will investigate further. Thank you

I am running v1.0.05 I have had a problem with 2 save games. The first trys to load and never makes it. I have waited as long as a half hour. The second game save. ( made at a later time) loads and starts and the engine sounds are produced. However the display is static and the mouse and keyboard are are not functioning. I have had situations in the past where this second type of hangup occurs but on retrying the same save, the game starts. The one I have now has not started although I have re-tried it about 5 times. ( I hope this is the correct place for problems like this to be posted.) The only other problem is that BCM is addictive and I havn't seen my wife in a week or more... Thank you for a great adventure.

I have had my 4 MK1 Interceprtors out many times and never had a problem getting them ready for their next flight. This time they cam back aboard ahd even though the Flight Engineers are assigned The ships never become ready. I did remove all the missiles and replaced them with Vagrants. In Logistix-Crafts-FC there is no list of assigned flight engineers. Looking at each ship the status of all systems is 100%. Do FC's need Radine and if so how do you transfer the stuff to the ship.. I am sure I have done something dumb or overlooked something. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank You

3 out of 5 ain't bad. Thank you all . The mining was a stupidity on my part. When I went to TACOPS I was clicking on the center of the display which appears to always be the planet.. I wasn't aware of the other targets off to the sides... I need to be more procise about the special units. If you look at the Appendix in Misc Units you will see the units I am refering to. The Medical Unit provides the following information --------------------------------------- REDUCES FF AND INCREASES LF. STAND IN FRONT OF STATION TO ACTIVATE. USABLE BY ANYONE - INCLUDING NPCs DEACTIVATES WHEN PLAYER STEPS AWAY OR WHEN FF AND LF ARE AT FULL LEVELS. ---------------------------------------- I have some crew that would love to stand infront of such a device. And finally. No matter who or what I target I never see a manifest. Thank you

I have been playing BCM for a few weeks and reading everything I can find. I have a few questions at the moment that I can't seem to find answers to. 1. Pg 26 of the manual gives the color-coding for the SSR, indicating that red means the System has been destroyed and is inoperable. All of the ICONS in my SSR display are red even though the systems are functioning. They do cycle from Blue to Yellow to Red as the damaged system is repaired. Why am I confused? 2. The appendix under MISC ITEMS indicates the existence of a probe and three stations, Medical, Repair and Weapons. Are these stations available and where do you find them. 3. I have read the information about the SMD on page 26 of the manual. I have yet to be able to see anything, even on my shuttles, returning with full mining drones. What am I doing wrong. 4. I have been very successful mining on MARS. I have tried to Mine on the Earths Moon and the TACOPS always show me the Earth and not the moon. Is it in fact true that only a ÔÇ£Planets surfaceÔÇØ can be mined and not a Moon? 5. And lastly. When I registered I did not have all my computer specs. How do I now add them to my profile.
