I only just got around to actually doing it. heh, some would think they got cheated out of a soapbox installment. they just emailed you a list of questions???? now how lazy is that!! yeesh come on...what ever happened to a traditional interview where ya go sit down and talk to em? but then again...I suppose an email interview would be a *bit* easier to do...cause ya could just do it when you're good and ready...and you can think all ya want...and then the poor interviewer doesn't have to write down everything....would feel sorry for the poor guy that would have to take everything ya said as dictation
  2. quote:Originally posted by Grayfox: on mars... no one can hear you scream... unless you do it in a commlink or something... or if they find a way of creating atmosphere on mars so sound could travel thru the air. LOL...I can just see it now.... [RP] CMDR: "Man I'm glad we got rid of those stupid prisoners, they were starting to stink." COMMS: "Sir we have an incoming transmission from the prisoners we beamed down to Mars, shall I put it over the loudspeakers sir?" CMDR: "*sigh* yeah sure, maybe this time they'll have something half intelligent to say." PRISONER: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" *com channel cuts* CMDR: "Well I guess that answers my question. Next time I'm just gonna shoot them." [/RP]

  4. also if your system engineers are really fatigued they wont do anything...they'll sit around at the work site fiddling around with their wrench.
  5. wowzers...a 5.8L V8??? yup they wanted the engine...or to take it offroading and bag the snot out of it. I'm gonna have to get a car alarm eventually...and a .357 Magnum or a beretta or something along those lines in case some fool ever tries to carjack me. NO ONE touches my car but ME well...maybe my girlfriend, but she can't drive anyway, and she would just be gettin somethin out of the back, so she's fine
  6. well....they COULD leave it on for an extensive amount of time....but....say bye bye to the crew!
  7. wow...on a rare occurance like that..you should save it right away. the latest game I started, some of my marines have less than 10% AI. I really need to get those guys a new hobby, 'hit the beer can off your buddy's head with a sledge hammer' can't be good for them. The game I started before that, most of my people had nice high AI levels, so I waste a bit of radium being indecisive about where I wanna go, then I go drop off my mining drones, then I plan on going back to earth to land and do a little homework while waiting for em to fill up. I get fairly low over the ground...well...what I *think* is low. So I decide to cut the engines. Little do I know, that 10 units of height is quite high up, that and the megaron has absolutely no suspension system. CLUNK, I hit, then I hear all those wonderful alarms telling my that my reactor has been annihilated, I look into logistix to see what else is broken. Lets see...reactor might as well have never been put in, one system (forget which) was at about 97% and all the rest were PERFECT! so after my bout of cursing, I shut that game down and start over again. who woulda thought the reactor was on the very bottom of the ship?
  8. quote:Originally posted by CedricB: Nah... on Mars they have just enough time to contemplate their deaths before they die. Nice and slow.have YOU ever had to chop off your twig and giggleberries after they've been taken by gang-green?? I haven't...but I'm sure its not fun. Plus I'd rather roast to death than have my little 'partner in crime' freeze and fall off.
  9. yeah just make sure that when you have intruders, don't let the intruders bonk your pilots on the head or else you'll just have a bunch of pilots that just fly around and ram into each other....kinda like how Resnig would fly a fighter.
  10. all I can say is...BCM got a low review...yet this is the best game out. Period. Renegade got bad reviews, and, well...its not the best game ever, but its still pretty good. Its kinda like a mix between tribes 2 and Half life...no jetpacks, but lotsa sweet vehicles
  11. why would someone steal an '87 F-150? unless ya live in an area where thats about the best truck on the block.
  12. it will SOS as in, it will let you capture it just cause you've been depriving it supplies??? hmmm...wonder if that would be an easier way to capture a station...would try...but my aim isn't that good yet
  13. ooohh ok...now I see the point to nuking them into oblivion has anyone tried to take out an entire base themselves in FP mode?
  14. why not land on a planet for repairs/waiting and stuff like that?? whenever I don't plan on going anywhere for a while...I'll just land on a planet (usually earth or Luna), let it sit there and repair for a while, or I'll run off and do my thing....I've never EVER been attacked while sitting out in the middle of nowhere on a planet....ya don't always have to put down in a combat zone ya know
  15. ummm...don't them little land bases you people enjoy nuking to the dark side of hell rebuild after a while? I could have sworn that I read somewhere that they did rebuild themselves...
  16. mars??? bah...you're too nice....I hear pluto is REEEEEEEEEAL cold this time of year
  17. that would be sweet! then you could go around in a system, blow the living monkey poop out of everyone that has anything that looks like cargo...and starve the station until its waiting to pay what YOU want
  18. didn't think it would go through can't blame a guy for tryin though. so...who knows a good joystick to use for BCM? one that works with windows XP as well.. STAY ON TOPIC! [ 03-13-2002, 09:23: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  19. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: quote:Originally posted by Shadow_Wolf33: only thing I would like is to be able to hold down a button and be able to aim with the mouse...If you want me to take you seriously, you're gonna have to do a LOT better than that. So, please xplain that one again for me. oooooh I sure hope I'm not gonna get a keel haul for this basically all I was saying that when a certain key is pressed (for example, the right mouse button, or M) the mouse cursor would be bound to the aiming reticule, and you would be able to aim your main guns like the way you aim your weapon in FPS mode...although you wouldn't have to pitch up/down. Basically when the button is depressed, or when it is toggled, the mouse would take over for aiming the main guns as opposed to working through the menus, basically have it take over the flight controls, until the key is released/toggle is switched to off. I just figured that this would work well as an aiming system for those of us that are joystick-deprived...and even for those of us that are very inaccurate with a joystick...I know that even if I did use a joystick, I'd have a hard time hitting the broad side of a starbase. did I explain it clear enough SC? I'm not tryin to make a wish list...or criticize this magnificent game...I'm just an old school keyboard and mouse man
  20. quote:Originally posted by Captain X: I can't wait for the day that we can jump off the bridge and join the search for intruders in FP. At that point in the BC universe, it will be fun playing an as a assassin and beaming to another ship and taking out the bridge crew and stealing their ship.that would be SWEET!!! then be able to take the ship to a station and sell it for a ton of creds. that or keep it if you don't like the one you started with anymore, or if it has been all shot up....hey! that would be a great way to recover from a battle that went really badly...just steal your enemy's ship!
  21. to get yourself such an intimidating reputation that those blasted intruders stop trying to steal your reactor and shoehorn it into a shuttlecraft!! we should start a betting pool and bet on what the version number will be before the SC is done making patches and stuff like that for BCM
  22. be sweet to go down to a planet, and set up a capture the flag type game...cept instead of a flag...capture the ATV or something along those lines...or just have everyone go down to a planet and have a major land war. hey I can aim with my mouse great, but I can't aim with the keyb all that great...I gotta be able to kill people SOMEWHERE
  23. a bigger craft will....will....make a bigger mark when you crash it on a planet and it hurts more when you ram people with it...even though ramming is a really dumb idea...would be sweet to be able to buy a ramming bumper for your ship
  24. only thing I would like is to be able to hold down a button and be able to aim with the mouse...I don't have a joystick, my gamepad wont configure to work properly with the game..and I imagine that even if I did get a joystick, my aim would stink anyway
  25. what would be the point of deploying them? so far they seem to be quite useless when deployed by a station..and what exactly would their little pea shooter be able to do against a cc?? admittedly it would probably rip a person to shreds...but a ship 50,000 times their size?? I don't think so....maybe as decoys...but still...I wouldn't even waste my time with them...rather keep em on board searching for intruders
