  1. Yea, I noticed that too...no marines or enemy ATV's attacking my forces...but I thought for sure someone would have posted something about it and the SC had responded he knew and was patching that or something to that response. I sent in all twenty of my Regular Marines and we blew the crap up out of a base, never ran into any other marines though...SAMs and SALs certainly did work though...along with the Fighters...but they only attacked if my Fighters attacked. The only reason my marines died, was because I gave them SAD orders, and when they ran smack into a launch pad they just went splat...were dead all of the sudden. We'll probably regret telling him this you know?
  2. But, from what I've read...he was talking about the fleet servers having the capability to save Greg? So would that imply that fleet servers will have a different version than what the rest of us run?
  3. Sounds exciting...I'm excited...are you excited...lets all be excited... Derek one question...well actually its not a question more of a request...naturally only if its feasible. I know you said we won't have the option to save the multiplayer games on a normal server...which is fine because most multiplayer games I play don't have the ability to save... But...Battlecruiser is a very unique kinda game...as I'm sure you know since you developed it to be that way...and as any commander knows, crew experience really does make a difference. So instead of being able to save the game, is it feasible to implement an accelerated experience system for the multiplayer only? This way, even though the multiplayer lasts only a short while...your crew will mature faster to match the relative short duration of the game. I understand being so late in the development, if its not even a possibility. In fact, I probably just said something you or someone else already thought of.
  4. All in all a thumbs up...though I'm not a tremendous fan of zombie movies... The special effects were good...wish there had been more...the plot was pretty good...it kept my attention because I didn't really know the storyline... And there were a few twists and turns which added to the suspense... I'd give it a 7/10...Can't wait for Blade 2, it looks to be a favorite.
  5. Hehe...Yeah..we..duh..um...Mey..ryn..es...yup yup..that we are..ummmm hmmm. At least that's what the majority of my Marines AI's would permit. Target's within radar range...what...hmm...why would they need to see them on radar...whatever for??? I don't get it!! I should be able to attack anything!!! Even if it's in the next quadrant!!...Let the damn AI's figure out how to get there!! GET A TAXI OR SOMETHING!!! hehehe....
  6. Yup, I got them working...sorta but like you said they have a hard time seeing or...just lack some intelligence. Anyway, thanks for the help.
  7. HAHAHAH...now that is funny! Love the Lion King theme! heheh ... STOP ALL YOUR BASE BELONG TO US!!!
  8. Good god, look what you started TAC! By the way, I could use that BCM for Dummies book...um...for a friend of mine, really...I swear. hehe j/k (Probably a compilation of all the strategies and war stories from the forum...)
  9. Enigma... "...and if ur military i respect what u do, but i wont pull the wool over my own eyes and make America seem like its all that. i live here cause its the best worst place to live currently..." Do you think that people who serve this country are blind to the problems both present, past and future? Or even just an average citizen who speaks proudly of the US and our achievements? It is with all probability that those people are more aware of our problems/faults than any others. And so they are trying to make a difference, as much as they can, or in the very least, say they tried and set a good example. Back to my original post, I never said that we were perfect, no country is...I was talking about the founding principles of this nation. And I pointed them out in my second post to this thread. So don't try to make apples out of oranges, this has gone completely off the subject we were talking about. You said yourself, the best of the worst places. Well feel that way if you choose to...it is perhaps an accurate statement. But I would never say it that way. Too many good people have died trying to make a difference and when you speak like that you dishonor everything they stood for. Besides, my whole point was founding principles of this Global government...and who better to model a global government after, the worst of the worst or the best of the worst?
  10. Hey Enigma...Did you see the movie Castaway? (Not Sure if it was all one word) But anyway, this would make Tom Hanks' character feel lucky by comparison? Don't you think?
  11. Enigma, was I arguing, "no..." And since you are so adept at posting part of my comments but not the whole thing, I'm wondering if you were actually reading my comments or just looking for something to pick apart? I said "...the founding principles that the US was founded on...Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness..." You are entitled to your opinions of course, as am I. If you want to take such a beautiful view of how the US was founded, then feel free. But don't lecture me on history, I'm quite well versed in it. I was referring to our declaration of independence and the constitution, which our founding fathers hammered out "the small details of." Both of which, I have put my life and a lot of the soldiers under my command at risk for. If you think that is what our country was founded on...then why are you here? And why are you speaking so patriotic? And I'm sorry but a Global government will have global policies that affect all countries, just as the US Federal Laws do to US States.
  12. No F#$%^G way...if he is alive. That pisses me off, especially cause I know that our Government had to know he was. God I can't believe they'd leave him, if it is true.
  13. Jeesh..I'm almost hesitant to put in my two cents, but...I will anyway (Gotta love Forums) I've read almost everyone's posts so far, and it seems like everyone has some very good points on both sides of the issues about the UN and what it may or may not become, and what will the US do. Well it seems that there are a few points that we all, no matter what side of the fence your on, can agree. The UN is or perhaps at least use to be under a large influence from the US. Due to financing, location, and many other factors. Now I love the good ole US of A, but let's face it. The world is becoming more and more a global market and a hell of a lot smaller than we once use to think. And that is going to lead to a power struggle of some sort. Hopefully it won't be an armed one, I prefer a political or economical conflict, although I suppose those could be just as messy as the first. However, facts are facts. And it's obvious that the one planet we have is just not big enough, nor safe enough for us to remain soley on for too long. We are moving spaceward...slowly, but hopefully fast enough...ironically we all are here because of a game that speaks of an EarthCom, which is what exactly? I'm not going to type it in because it sidetracks what I'm talking about, look it up in the manual if you don't know. For those who do, then understand and agree that it is inevitable, that such a global governing body come into existence. However, this is probably a century or so away from ever becoming fully capable of what it will be expected to do. So what are we talking about then, the fears, expectations, complications, and growing pains of what is going to happen to the Super Power(s) and all the other countries who may or may not posses equal economical, military, or political assets as the greater countries...but will have equal representation in the global government? Yes, they'd have to, hopefully not off population either (CHINA, INDIA). Otherwise everyone will be trying to pump out as many children as they can just to get a bigger piece of the representative pie. And I think we all can agree...that is not the right way to go about it. I would say equal is equal, one representative for each...but there might be a better way, let someone else think of it. Basically a global system of government based largely off founding principles similar to the United States, with a lot of changes as will be needed for such a beast of a government. Who really cares about the small details at this point, those will be decided in time. I'm sure as Americans our concerns are that our rights and privelages are not changed in anyway, except by our own representatives and governing body. However, who is to say that is the case, and that is our worst fear isn't it? Would we fight then? That's the big question. If that is the cost for creating this global government, are we going to be willing to support it then? I personally would be willing to support a world government that believe's in what the US was founded on. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. And many other nations seem support these values as well. But any global government not living up to those values...there might be a global government, but not with the U.S. in it. And that would probably mean a war... Cause a global government is going to govern globally...even us. Sincerely to all,
  14. Looks like a Vesperon...eh?
  15. Well now, I see that no one has posted a new war story in quite sometime (a whole 5 minutes)...and though this will seem rather dull by comparison to some of the stories I have read...I shall tell my tale nonetheless. I noticed that no one has posted a story about planetary ground engagements so I thought I would be the first. I was only about 4 days old, as far as purchasing and gameplay goes, and I was trying to familiarize myself with ground force ops. So after readying my FIRESTORM in a halt position somewhere over North America. I went to preparing my marines and shuttles for deployment to a Raider military installation. Although I really wanted to pilot one of the shuttles myself down to the LZ, cause I love to fly, I denied myself the urge and stayed on the bridge overseeing the deployment operation. After deploying all of my assets, to include, 4 Tanks fully armed, 20 marines, 10 regulars, 10 EF, and my fighters on stand by for CAP, STRIKE, and PATROL loadouts, I decided it would be fine if I piloted a shuttle down and lead the attack from the front. This all takes about 20 to 30 minutes of course, from start to finish. After doing the recon, finding a good LZ, laying out the waypoint sets, readying the marines, deploying the shuttles and marines and tanks. ETC... Needless to say feeling comfortable and pleased with myself ...(never bothering to hit save game either)...I tell my AE to head to the Shuttle Bay and prep for dust off. Gave the launch command and VRRROOOMMMM...off I went. Enjoying the scenery as I speed toward my forces awaiting my arrival on the surface...life couldn't be better. Finally after the sequences I am in the atmosphere slightly northeast of my LZ and troops. I see the raider base below to my right and grab for my throttle/yoke hit the boosters and made for NAP of the Earth. But evidently the SAMs having been tracking me ever since they first picked the little red dot of a shuttle on their radars. I hear a missle acquiring then locked on warning from my shuttle, and think, I'm fine...no problem one little missile isn't gonna ruin my plans for domination. Then it's off...the missle is pinging me as it ranges for the kill. OH SHIT! ...Ok stay calm just get close to the ground and hit VTOL and shoot straight up, that otta give you some time...wait, if I do that they'll just lock on and fire more missles at me... Bad idea, try something else...ok...hit the afterburners and stay close to the ground. Yea, that'll work. Not really knowing the exact specs of the shuttles or the missiles, (IE the ability for one to out run a missile in a shuttle.) So I reach down and hit the burners...(not really paying attention to the direction my shuttle is facing at that moment probably wasn't such a good idea in retrospect)...BLAM...right into the ground, RED warning lights going off like crazy, I'm sliding along the ground slowly until I halt, about 20 Klicks away from my LZ, missile still tracking...shuttle is not functional...not in the least. But hey I'm still alive that's a plus...ping.....ping...ping..ping.ping.ping...oh CRAP get out of the shuttle you idiot!! At the exact moment I am pressing ALT-E and yes to exit, I am watching my poor excuse for a beat-up shuttle explode into a million little pieces. Then the inevitable KIA message and back to the main menu screen...what does one do at that point? Play another game?...na...I'm too pissed...Try again?...na...I'm too pissed...Commit suicide?...na...I'm too self-centered...Get another ship and blow something up?...YEA!!! Good idea!
