Look, the Controlled Information Association, er, CIA, isn't in the habit of releasing unbleached intelligence reports. And, because of the Israeli/Muslim feud (note that word) over a piece of property, you really can't take anything they say at face value either. Poor, uneducated, and impoverished peoples have always been the target of religious groups, radical or otherwise. You gotta eat in order to think properly, and if someone promises money and rewards from Allah or whatever God they follow for destroying rich people, they would be hard-pressed to say no. Still, you are both arguing with slanted/controlled information, which means that you are both probably wrong when you get into specifics. (To prove my point about the brothers-warring I mentioned earlier, I just attacked two bothers... Now, watch as both of them turn on me. I thought about being an Airborne Ranger when I was in the Army. Then, from out of nowhere, sanity took hold. My First Sergeant said, "I see no sense in jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, unless I can land on a perfectly good enemy officer. Then, the latter will change..." Course, he was Field Artillery. So was I, doing 90+ percent of my time doing paperwork at Battery Supply. Ho hum ho hum. Everyone else did their ten hours a day -- I was lucky to escape at 16. Then, they had the nerve to tell me that I had to clean my room, do my laundry, sort everything out, and get some sleep. And be back in Supply at 06:30 hours. Something is wrong with this picture... I love to fly. I love to watch skyjumpers, but I just don't wanna join them, unless the plane is dead, dying, or being shot at by air artillery...

Man, they gotta be kidding. When are they gonna do any real space exploration? C'mon, I mean, I don't consider the taxicab (as in the shuttle) to be "going into space." Give me a break -- that's like saying a firecracker has the same firepower as a planetcracker! Jeeze! And enough of this rocket-powered bomb-on-a-stick nonsense -- it's too dangerous for anything beyond the moon, and that lost several lives in its tenure. How about some non-inertial propulsion systems that don't depend on riding on an a-bomb equivilent, and might go faster-than-light? Real scientists have toyed with it, but no effort (except maybe in what Roswell may be doing with our tax money) has been put out to actually achieve it. Between the "big-rock-hits-planet", "nuthead uses dirty nuke in New York", and "stupidity continues in Washington" scenarios, I think it's high-time we did something about it. Hey, Supreme Commander: Why don't we start the real GalCom about a thousand years early?!? (Hint, hint, hint...)

Yessir, I heard about that... Funny way to get stoned, if you ask me (pun intended.) Lots of places to get them, but Neptune would be a bit more costly than our local partner.... Even so, that ain't exactly cheap...

I'm going to have to abstain from voting because it sounds like there is more to it than just the log (that was expressed by some of the Commanders.) Politically, as a Cadet, it wouldn't make sense to vote without at least a background to back the vote up. I agree there is a problem (I can tell that from the logs) but, without more information, I don't feel qualified to vote on this issue as an effective juror. (For the record, I was ordered by my Commanders to read posts here and at Fleet HQ, and post on issues presented. If out of bounds on this, my extreme apologies...) I've know Cmdr EP5 only for about a week, but he seems dedicated to BC and the Community from what I can tell. Other than that, I don't know. Anyway, I'm remaining in my respective boxer's neutral corner....

His sense of planning (as far as I've read so far; still working on it...) is right-on-track. Time Management (which should usually be a "Things-to-do" list with actual or implied deadlines) is simpler than what college attempts to teach. I mean, c'mon, who wants (or needs) to spend 90% of their time figuring out when to do something? Add Project Software to the mix, and that thing that should've started yesterday winds up being slated for next November... My favorite method of Time Management consists of a paper screen with lines on it, and a light-pen with an ink insert... (Speaking of which, does anyone even use light-pens anymore?)

I thought it was pretty cool. Beats heck outta space invaders...

The US might as well be the UN, for all the support the other countries normally send. "Hey, thanks for the six planes, Japan, during Desert Storm..." Technically, per our agreements with the UN, the Death Penality is internationally illegal. But, since we basically own the UN, who cares? See my point? If we want to earn the respect of the Middle East and other powers, we need to lead by example, not pre-empt what may happen. If and when we act against another country, we need to be able to publically show evidence to the world why we are acting. Earning trust is about sharing information, and showing that we are doing the right thing, not saying, "Oh, who, Saddam? Yeah, we thought he might be selling weapons to the Al Queda, so we decided to nuke him..." Won't win popularity points, even here at home. We need human intelligence (as in agents infiltrating and passing information back to Control), common sense, a desire to know the truth, a sense of morals (a thing of the past?), and to lose some of this "political correctness" that is killing our nation (tell me in detail, just what is American culture? -- Good luck!) As for this Capitalism vs Socialism debate -- The Soviets are winning that with their drives toward Democracy, as we lose it at the Food Stamp Office.... Okay, I get off my soap box for now...

Supreme Commander: I want to thank you for the time, energy, and expertise you and and your team have expended on both the game and this forum site. Back in '94 to '97, I was the SysOp of StarTek (sic) BBS in Amarillo, and we played the old ANSI games, like Legend of the Red Dragon, TradeWars (both the 2001 and TW 2, made by different companies), and a pretty good Trek Commander's game.) ANSI might not be the standard of today, but it's chief advantage over the Internet is speed (but, the old BBS's were DOS-based, which is very limited in power...) Your forum is excellent, IMHO, and the game is killer. I need to upgrade the Motherboard on my system prior to the release of MP, as a P-366 is just a mite slow, even with a high-speed connection, when compared to the 800 or 1.7 standards most people have. It's okay, but... In any event, I salute you, sir. You not only have the best starship game available, you actually participate in the users' forum. Please keep up the good work!
