I was originally going to post to this thread to make it perfectly clear that the review was NEVER intended to be an attack on Derek, but it looks like that is perfectly clear now.
There is still the issue that this may be a bad review, and I should take some responsibility for that since I am supposed to be the editor in chief
I am talking to Bryan (the reviewer) about it right now...
He has always been a great reviewer for us, but lately he's been going through some tough times in life. It appears that it is beginning to reflect in his work (the review is only the second article in several months he has submitted to me for publish - he's way behind). We are going to work on this for the future.
Derek knows that I respect him, and contrary to about 99% of the world (according to him), I actually like him. He reminds me of myself in some ways - I can also be very outspoken on my beliefs, and can be confrontational as well.
Actually I would LOVE to have Derek write an article for us some time! I am talking to some other developers about doing some freelance work for us too... I want to broaden the scope of my site, but I think Derek would probably be too busy for that...
Anyway, I am really glad things have cleared up, and I thank you guys and Derek for bringing this to my attention.
Oh and thanks for not slamming my site
