  1. You are right about that Aperson It's only natural for some people to be against us going in. The problem isn't much that, it's the Media that won't get it's head out of it's ass and start reporting the positive's of whats been going on And don't you even DARE come here and ask me "What positives?" because I can just as easilly get ahold of several friends of mine who have been iraq for one year, two years and where there even BEFORE we went in and I assure you they know much more about whats going on than most of you people
  2. Decided what I said would go in one ear and out the other. So -SNIP-
  3. Well if he IS trying that he's going to fail. The media has ALWAYS been Anti-War, so it's a VERY poor place to find anyting related to the War on Terrorism I know Jag had a list somewhere, but now I can't find it, basically lets just put it this way: We've done a lot of good in Iraq and the people there, for the most part, are thankful for our help, the only things you hear about these days are soldiers being killed and iraq's attacking our troops. The fact of the matter is, the "iraq attacking our troops" part is slightly a lie 1. Because it's not iraq's in general: It's terrorists opposed to our Iraq Freedom 2. Because the Media is trying to spin the story and make Iraq sound worse than it already is. The media is well known for being biased toward several area's But, to put it right down, if he WAS going to try and start up another "War in iraq was a failure" crude he's going to have a very difficult time doing that, because quotes from newscasters and talk-show-hosts are not worth the time it took to bring them here, after all, NONE OF THEM are even IN iraq or have taken PART in any of the operations, that what makes their quotes nothing more than dead weight
  4. You've got me.. even I'm trying to figure it out.
  5. I didn't want to say anything but you are right When I first saw that pic I thought it was a new member on the board (I'm so used to seeing him us the galcom avvy) Still though SC, um, that pic makes you seem rather... dangerous.. with that twichy eye and such.. what are you trying to do? Scare away any potentional newbies?
  6. Sorry Soback, didn't know you where directly affected, after all, you NEVER said you where, perhaps if you had I wouldn't have said those things Not going to argue anymore about the Patriot Act. The rest of you can enjoy the debate =)
  7. Soback What would you rather have: A country that is constantly under attack by the terrorists, constantly bombing our buildings, killing helpless civilians Or A country that, although has lost a few freedoms, has a good defense against terrorism by striking out at it FIRST and finding out where the attacks are coming from via wire tapping, phone call interception Please think hard on that, and please don't spin or twist what I just said, what I want is a STRAIGHT answer. Which of those two would you rather have? Hmmm? After all, you seem to ONLY be pointing out the 'bad' things of the Patriot Act, not even BOTHERING to look at how much has been accomplished with this.. but then again.. you have look hard to find anything good abotu the Patriot Act since the mainstream media doesn't bother to report it (I have a nice documentation listing a good amount of good that Patriot Act has done, which is more than worth the lose of a few freedoms, like a plot to blow up a few casino's here in the Nevada that was spoiled thanks to wiretapping, or the plot to blow up Hoover Dam, AGAIN spoiled due to wiretapping) If your going to argue about the Patriot Act I strongly advise that you actually READ and RESEARCH it, instead of believing all the crap from the Mainstream Media And yes I do agree that lossing a few freedoms is bad, and Soback, don't lecture me on the Constitution, espically since it was a requirement in order to me to GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL (FYI: I attended a Private High School, where knowing the constitution was a requirement to graduate, among other things)
  8. Actually nomad, it's you who should refrain from saying that, since you obvioisly failed to to come to this conclusion: Did the thought ever occur to you that I based my opinion on what I've witnessed? I have been in wars before, as I've been in alliances before, I've always seen destroyers and cruisers get riped to shreads, I find it rather sad that you didn't come to THAT conclusion.... quote:As example, during almost a year, the gatekeeper of 4/10 Mul-Zatah complexes dropped an Ashimmu BPC approximately at a rate of 1:10 when blowed up. Kind of hard to hunt there when I haven't a CLUE where that is located. And just an FYI Nomad, I made a choice to stay within secure space for my own personel reasons: One being I don't like Pvp combat in this game(I'll support it, but I won't fight) right now because I don't have the current skills nor the right ship outfit. Yes I have a battleship but not the right outfitting for it
  9. You could've responded to my question a couple months ago, ya know Silk A friend of mine and I created a corp three months ago. I personally don't like Pvp in this game because it's solely based on who has more skill points in gunnery and what not, shields, armor, and stuff like that In full, someone in a destroyer or cruiser doesn't really stand a chance in any engagements I know this for a fact because when I was mining for my corp, we had two escorts, one in a BS and one in a destroyer, we had two idiots from AOI jump in (they LOVE going after unarmed ships, thats the only thing they are good at, and it shows) the first they went after was me I must say though, it was very nice of them to not have much shields, because my second and third accounts are cloaked missile boats, took out both AOI BC's and they never became the wiser The problem with this game is that to many people pray on unarmed ships, and to many people pray on those of us who don't play this game for the Pvp (I play it for the mining and the manufacturing, maybe the occasional rat hunt) I don't have the reflex's to play Pvp in this game (I do for UC becuase I've been playing that game for a long time, and know the physics) Anyway, I've seen your corp before, in fact, two of your pilots saved my butt when I flew through unrestricted space once, an AOI in an interceptor kept going after my Armed Transport (Love these new transports) Never did catch their names... Anywho, perhaps when things with my corp begin to die down (we are dieing saddly) I'll consider joining yours. Just remember, not everyone who plays is good at Player vs Player, personally I don't like lossing a ship I spent four months of hard mining to someone who can only go after unarmed vessels (In my case, a mining vessel and two Bestowers) quote:Originally posted by Aperson: quote:Originally posted by Wolferz: ... the players are still paying to beta test a sloppy piece of code. Isn't that part of the defination of any MMO? Now your insulting the SC by saying UCO is no different
  10. A lot of you seem to have already forgotten, espically you Soback, that if we hadn't of had the Patriot Act, the Golden Gate bridge would be on the bottom of the ocean now If case you have already forgotten, it's BECAUSE of the Patriot Act is why those who where going to bomb the bridge where apprehended It's BECAUSE of the Patriot Act why two people in California where arrested for having ties to the Taliban, but also for conspiring to blow up a federal building It's BECAUSE of the Patriot Act why several cells in the United States have already been found and elimanated You see, all of you are looking at the negative, not the positive Just like how most of you probably don't know about the good things our soldiers have done in Iraq, rebuilding schools, providing power and clean water, rebuilding roads, telephones, what not... all the media plays on is the negative, never the positive... so of course your going to hear people say that the PA takes away our rights.. but have you even BOTHERED to actually LOOK IT UP and see what it entitles? Let me put it this way, I don't care what measures the Patriot Act takes after all, I have absolutely NOTHING to hide... Only those who DO have something to hide are the guilty party and SHOULD be investigated
  11. If you had taken the proper time to SEARCH the board you would've discovered that BBS missions and those idea's where already discussed Personally this game doesn't NEED BBS missions since it was made under the premise that people have a brain and an intelligence and know how to use it The galaxy is full of life, you just need to fly around a bit to find it My current character has 4 months under his belt, the galaxy is very much alive with traders, police, commerical, medical, what not flying around, docking at stations, landing on planets (even though you might not see it) It's all about the imagenation and how you use it. You say your having fun, thats great, but this idea will NEVER be implimented, at least not in any single player game, perhaps in UCO (not likely, but it's a possibility since UCO is an MMO) Anyway, my best advice is that when the SC says "Never" then don't argue with him
  12. Icks... Copy Protection was a murder for Morrowind Suffice it to say, my video card doesn't even break a sweet when playing Morrowind Wonder if it will for Oblivion quote:It sounds like the previewers aren't incredibly impressed. I fear that Oblivion will fall into the realm of games that look jaw-dropping in a screenshot, but somehow fail in terms of gameplay. I hope not.NEVER trust pre-view's, most are highly biased and aren't worth the time it takes to read them: That's namely why I don't bother reading pre-view's anymore. Because most of those who write them don't even take the time to actually PLAY the game, in fact, most only play the game for five minutes, if even ten In fact, to a degree, don't even trust the reviews made be reguler people, most aren't even worh the time it takes to read them As for Oblivion, I personally feel it'll be another success, but thats all I'll say, don't want to jynx it
  13. Lets just put it this way, now I've only heard rumors, but any song that has anything to do with raping girls, killing cops, racism, and cursing should NOT be in the oscars.. Anyway, I turend it on, took one look... and went to bed. The oscar's don't interest me anymore, espically after how Hollywood treated President Bush by allowing that traiterious Michel Moore to release his 'documentary'. Holly wood has been lossing audence's anyway. The highest brokerage movie this weekend only made 12 mill, thats a dim in the bucket considering the amount Star War and LoTR made Ok.. enough ranting from me
  14. I personally haven't, I don't even know how a painting can be worth so much to begin with.... I won't lie though, even back in grade school I found ways around the 'search' for gum in our school bags, maybe this kid found a way around his Still though, your right, why they would allow twelve year old kids within reach of a 1.5 mil painting is beyond me...
  15. Not sure if this belongs in this forum or in the politic's one. Anyway, enjoy ;-) quote: POSTED: 10:42 am EST February 28, 2006 DETROIT -- The Detroit Institute of Arts is stuck with having to repair a painting worth $1.5 million. It has to remove a stain left by a wad of gum stuck on the painting by a 12-year-old visitor. It happened Friday. Museum officials said the boy was with a group from Holly Academy in Oakland County, Mich., when he took the gum out of his mouth and stuck it on Helen Frankenthaler's 1963 abstract painting "The Bay." The gum didn't stick to the fiber of the canvas, but left a stain the size of a quarter. Museum experts are researching the chemicals in the gum to decide how to clean the painting. Holly Academy director Julie Kildee said the boy had been suspended from the charter school and said his parents also have disciplined him. "Even though we give very strict guidelines on proper behavior and we hold students to high standards, he is only 12 and I don't think he understood the ramifications of what he did before it happened, but he certainly understands the severity of it now," said Kildee. Boy Sticks Gum On $1.5 Million Painting At Museum A follow on it in my towns newspaper stated at the bill will be given to the family to pay First off.. where was the teacher? And why didn't they make sure NO students where chewing gum? I mean, when I was in grade school and went on field trips thats the FIRST thing they made sure we didn't have, either in our mouths, pockets or school bag, anyone caught with it wasn't allowed on the trip.. but then again.. that was back when the word "common sense" existed Anyway.. whats everyone's opinions?
  16. quote: You mean kinda like you don't hear of Kerry's speech in Saudi Arabia this week. The speech where he said that in US, the government is INDISCRIMINATLY rounding up Arabs, abusing them and violating their right... Yea.... so I heard.... It's rather traiterious that the media won't report it, but not surprising. Anywho, Lets continue to watch and see what happens in this case
  17. He's not a democrat Aperson, so of course they'll treat him like a normal person. It'd be a different story if.. say... Kerry was in office and he did this to his friend, you wouldn't even HEAR of it on the media
  18. Funny how this got more attention than the Sandy Burger thing (where he burned important US documents related to the Clinton Administration) or when Clinton violated US Policy and sold nuclear secrets to China... And saddly they won't rest, it just shows how biased the media really is.
  19. I heard something about them saying that if the movie did succeeded they'd work on a few others. But I do agree that they should've started from the very beginning, from when John was first 'enlisted' into the military and trained up as a child to where he currently is The thing is, that would take A LOT of time to produce, and finding child actors isn't easy from what I've been reading now-a-days
  20. So is computer animation Cruis. You can be amazed what is possible with computer animation, just look at what the japanese have done with it, the animation and special effects for Final Fantasy and Advent Children went BEYOND awesome, I can't even discribe it Also, don't forget, the effects used in the Matrix movie's where also done on the computer And yes, Peter can save this movie Doom was a flop mainly BECAUSE of it's "Live Action" part as what was mentioned in a lot of review's I've read, thats why I feel it'll be a flop if it goes to Live Action for the movies. If you've played Halo then you know how gorgeous the graphics where, imagen THAT on the big screen, only ten times better thanks to the technology we have today
  21. Well lets just put it this way: If it's made into a live action movie like Doom, then I know it'll be a flop If it's made into an animation like movie like Final Fantasy (After all, the game itself IS animation) then it'll succeed
  22. quote: Ebert and Ropert Their also well known for writing bad reviews about game's to movies. Like Final Fantasy Spirits Within, which was an awesome movie I hope they don't use live action in the Halo movie, because that WILL kill the movie, I'm hoping they actually use animenation like what was used in FF SW, because thats where the money will be at, live action game > movies won't make much on the box office no matter HOW POPULER the game is
  23. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: THEY ARE TRULY EVIL!! And there is no doubt of that.... How many people have to be beheaded on video, how many innocents need to be killed by suicide bombers, how many churches and synogogues burned etc, before you come to that realization? Don't answer that... Jaguar.. you should already know that Liberals HATE the truth, if you try and present facts they'll come back and say it's a conspiracy.. To be honest: WE go into Afgan and take out the Taliban WE go into Iraq and take out a terrorist dictator WE go into Afgan and anniligate Al Quada And THIS is how we are rewarded? With flag burning, America soldiers being killed? In my opinion, Afganistan has EARNED the right to be nuked. Iraq, from what I've read from the NON-LIBERAL MEDIA, is thankful for us taking Saddam out of power. And this little display from those terrorist's have just proven my point Military base - RESTRICTED TERRITORY You come on, you deserve to be shot, I wish our boy's had just aimed a little better, then that farmer would've been killed, and no I wouldn't fell bad, because they DESERVED IT, by TRESSPASSING ON A MILITARY BASE.
  24. Isn't the Muslim religion based on "Peace" ? *snickers* Talk about a much of hypocritcs.. they advocate peace and look what they are doing... nothing 'peaceful' about it
