Is the balance of power between Galcom and Insurgent out of wack at the moment? Are there more Galcom than Insurgent? Just wonder because as much as I'd enjoy being Galcom I don't really want to uneven the sides even worse than they are now Btw Ben you have a beautiful family!

I really hate to post this but I am having a bit of a problem with UC:AWA. I'm running the newest drivers for my video card as well as the most up to date version of UC:AWA From D2D. Since I've installed the newest drivers for my graphics card I've been launching the game only to find intense graphical errors. It looks like an acid trip with random colors appearing across the screen. I've also had some strange lines appearing both in the main display and in the radar display that don't seem to be intentional. Should I roll back to the driver you're using for your Raedon 9800 PRO SC or is there a simpler answer for this question? Below are screen shots of the problem, and to recreate it all I can say is it happens every time I load the game now This is a screen shot of the error I speak of Strange Error Every time I play the game the error is diffrent, and only seems to appear when I face certain directios or in external view mode. It happens in new and saved games and I'm really not sure what the heck is going on.If anyone has any ideas or experience with this it would be helpful but if it is to much trouble don't worry about it. I'm sure you've got more important things to do doing ;P

Well I supose I'll join you guys then. I like being on the under dogs team and I certainly don't care much for Galcom or EarthCom for that matter. What shall I do? How can I prove myself to be a loyal recruit?

In reference to the missing parts of my Appendix, any one know where I might find a full version of the appendix? Mine is also missing the upgrade section (Which I kinda need atm ;P) Along with the planets info. Any help would be useful.

Ah, but which Insurgent fleet to join? That is the question my friend. I'm kind of disappointed to see that the fleet action will be using Tribes for the ground combat but I understand since the UC:AWA ground combat is a lot slower paced and would take some time to resolve. So since my strength would be useless in multiplayer combat which fleet would be most willing to take a commadner that isn't very skilled in ship to ship combat (Yet!)

The demo is pretty cool, same old C&C goodness. The actors in the demo include the asian cylon from the new Battlestar series and Michael Ironside and they both do a good job. It isn't really anything new to the RTS genre as far as I can tell. It looks like they took the "If it ain't broken don't fix it" approach /again/ I've got no problems with that myself!

Thats good to know! Sadly I've had a horrible accident. Three of my shuttles ran into each other while trying to enter the moon's close orbit. None of the marines managed to survive the accident and one of the shuttles was lost It will be a little bit before I go looking for better places to mine. Is there any way to use a probe to check the mineral value of a planet in another area? There may be a screen I'm missing

That's rough, my father was in a horrible accident that left him in the hospital with a giant ? over if he would recover so I know something of how you must feel. Without a doubt he will be in my prayers mate.

Hey guys ,I've been around for a while and was part of a fleet for a moment or two. I'm back to spend some more time around the forum ect and I'm looking to join a fleet again. As far as my skills go I'm very dangerous in FPS mode and I'm not bad with a gun ship. I may need a bit of training to command my own carrier ect because I tend to go a little over board in combat. (Just FATAL the enemy with every missle I have and hope to heck I win !) I would prefer a Galcom fleet that is active and is going to take part in the multiplayer season that is about to start! Lemme know if you're interested.

That sounds like good stuff to me I'm going to read up on the fleet action and see if I can't find the time to join in I work strange hours though so I might have to just watch.

I have a very similiar question in regards to mining. Is there any where in the tac ops screen or others that tell you what the planet type itself is? I looked in the apendix and for some reason my version is blank when it comes to planets. Also when you say it is random you mean it makes no differnece where you place the mining drones down as to what they will get? Sorry to dredge up an old topic but I thought it better than making a new topic about the same thing.

I'm not really sure where to post this, and I dare not PM anyone directly for help. My account seems to be locked or blocked to where I can not update my sig or change anything. I dunno if this is some sort of punishment (In which case I will endure it happily) or if it is just because I've gone long periods of time without posting anything? I'd like to have access to my account again and get back into the community in full force but having my account locked makes it very hard. for some reason I can't take part in the poll, as I mentioned in that thread I wouldn't mind joining the fleet if you're going to have a multiplayer season on AWA. What exactly does that entail? Do you just play co-op or death matchs against each other?

For some reason I'm not able to use the polling feature. In fact there are a lot of things I can't use. I don't know if it's because my account hasn't been used in a long time or if it's because I made a mod angry I'm not sure what to do , I can't vote, change my sig, or do pretty much anything.

As fun as playing SC's games are, reading his posts are more fun still. Over the years I've been hard pressed to find anything more fun on the internet than reading SC's response to idiots that randomly post on these forums without thinking. I don't know if people expect support from SC when they randomly complain about things without first reading the manual or the forums for previous posts. I don't know if they're just trying to stir up trouble, but I do know how it will always end. I do know that I've been on the pointy end of some of his biting comments and I know I deserved everything he said to me How many of you have read a new post, and said to yourself. Oh my god, I can't wait to see how SC responds to this one. I know this is a bit strange to bring up now, but I think SC doesn't just create a Niche game for us all, he's made his own little world and shared it will us. A place that we can go and enjoy ourself, a place that he protects just as fiercly as he does his products. This is a place protected from idiots and flamers by the all might SC and his banning powers. His comments that cut straight to the bone, with no flowery words and total disregard for retaining fools as customers. I can only say that if "Mr. Smart" as some arogant poster's have called him, can a world in UConline as perfect as the forum here at 3000Ad I think I'll be playing that game until it goes offline forever or until I die Now, sitting here reading my post, I realize how gay I must sound. I'm just being honest, and giving my thanks to you. I just wanted to say thanks SC, for all the great games and all the great years you've spent with us. Wow man, I'm sorry to hear what happened. It was bad enough that I decided to post for the first time in a long time. Just wanna let you know I feel for you and hope you feel better mentally soon. I can't even begin to imagine what that must be like! Just remember, don't harbor any hate for the guy that did this to you, if any thing feel sorry for him and hope that his life gets better soon. You can move on with your life ect, but he will always have to live with what he did to you and others. Sorry I don't mean to get all preachy ;P I just hope you feel better soon, would also be up for some mutliplayer if any of you guys are still running UC:AWA

I just downloaded UC AWA from Direct2drive (thank you SC for making that deal, I love that place and trust them beyond words for the service they've provided me in the past) The first thing I did was play the as a EF marine in some IA gigs. I found that I died without knowing what was going on, just seeming to get wasted without every even hearing fun fire. I was getting rather angry, disappointed even. Then I realized (because I'm slow and take a while to understand) That I'm not playing half life 2 any more, and that this game should be treated more like delta force with extreme realism settings on I started using all the tools I had on me and soon found myself crawling through dense beautiful land scapes using my radar to find and kill enemies before they ever saw me. I love this game, with all my heart and soul if only for the intense and !Realistic! FPS part of the game. The first time I was sneaking into kill range of an enemy base, and friendly fighters began to attack it I almost threw my mouse across the room as the enemies anti-air defense systems filled the sky with so many lasers I couldn't tell where they were all coming from. Hence I gave myself the mission of sneaking into base and taking those defenses out. So my first impression of the game is that all the bad reviews I read about the game were false. (duh) One even went so far as to say that all you could do in the game is command a complex command ship or run around alone as a marine and left the review at that (kinda leaves out a lot O.o) I find that you had added depth to the FPS part of the game that was always there in the space combat. Sadly I'm a horrible pilot and even worse commander so I think I'll stick to ground pounding for now. Thanks again SC and I hope I didn't say anything to offend you. I've played the demo only and from what I can see UC is full of bugs The 2 FPS missions are impossible. On the first mission your rifle won't even fire on the second mission the enemy marines shoot you from a mile away with no sound through a hill. . . You go walking in one direction then clip into another direction. Everyone is screaming out in pain without being hurt and the controls are laggy with no mouse sensitivty what so ever. Destroyed buildings are still THERE because when you try to go where they were you go up into the freaking air sides ways like you've got mag boots (and ya might I know you use them in space in BCM) but there is nothing there and you get stuck. You can walk circles around the engines on the assault craft and I have no idea how to get into the side guns of these craft (maybe ya cant) space battles seem way to fast. A few shots and enemy battle cruisers explode what seems like instantly and the lag is horrible on a 2 gig machine with Raedon 9800 pro. Now if the retail version of UC is anything like this that guy is right, please guys tell me this isn't the way the actual game is! (I've got BCM and BCMG and I love both of them. Further more I don't see much better graphics in UC's demo other than improved ground troops) I'd really love to get UC but I'm just wondering if I should wait until the next version of the game comes out ?
