  1. quote:How are you joining the server? Commandline +connect or using the server browser? How are you quitting the game after exiting in fp mode? ALT+Q?Joining the server through the server browser on the internet and using +connect for lan testing. Quiting the game ALT+Q or ALT+E (suicide).
  2. Thanks for the response, and thanks for cleaning up the forum.I realize now why the SC wants to keep such a tight ship. It was amazing. This dude(or whatever) went from topic to topic posting his crap.It was like an avalanche .UnReal.The only thing I wonder about is why be so destructive. If you don't like the game just don't play the game. Can't understand it. 3. OK, at the risk of being tossed out a airlock I would simply like to say 'compliments to Jaguar' for cleaning up a very nasty mess. Dude!!
  4. Thanks dude...You cleaned up the worst of it.I understand now (a little better at least) why the the SC can be,lets just say agitated at people.I mean I was right in the middle of posting about a MP issue when this crap started to go down.(In fact you probably deleated some of my more colorful comments-NP)
  5. This happens often ???
  6. I realize the SC is hard at work on RC8 dealing with many MP issues. However I want to make sure he is aware of this problem.Yes, I have just reread the VCF (thanks for the color change),and I don't see this exact item. This is with RC7. This procedure will guarantee a server crash on a lan or internet server.(I have personally toasted the HOXDNA.ORG server a number of times testing this). It's actually quite simple, and in fact others may be aware of this but I have not seen any other posts about this.OK...only in the commander career land on a planet, using your main asset or a shuttle, exit the ship (to FP mode)and then quit the game. This will crash the server for whatever reason. This is only for the commander career and does not seem to happen with elite force, planetary or marine careers. Also this does not seem to be a problem in space(first person), just on a planet. This problem seems to 100 be percent reproducible.I have also tested this on a two computer lan and also using the server/client setup on a single computer. (OK I have read subsequent posts and never tried alternate FP loadouts. This problem is with default loadout). [ 03-05-2004, 06:49 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  7. quote: The console server defaults to /l1 if no logging is entered. If its crashing without that parameter, then somethings wrong because, unlike the graphical server, the console server REQUIRES some form of logging. You just can't seem to accept that there is a problem here. Well here is the deal: ucmp.exe 3,584,000 bytes,(size of file same as size on disk),the version sent out with RC4,when run with the following parameters "ucmp.exe /s /console /l1" works and "ucmp.exe /s /console" generates an exception of type 0xc0000005 right after "LOADING MP_NZONEZ REGION SCRIPT". So there.
  8. Compliments to you dudes trying get MP working on every possible platform!
  9. Sounds like a possible MP convert to me.!!!
  10. quote: how can i issue the order to the marines in the TACOPS to follow me.Enter tacops, left click on marine, select escort1,support units, your name.
  11. quote: Cpt Kasin Pool BTW ,to help you and everyone else post your specs per the Forum Sig above. Thanks..
  12. quote: when i set up in Configserver then launch the server it pops me into the game. When you start the server you are starting a graphical interface which is the same as the tacops computer in the normal game.Assuming you have a firewall and/or router you just need to open ports 2302 and 2425 . If you do not have a firewall or router .... get them.
  13. OK try this. Go into tacops and tell each marine to escort you.Use the 'hold' button to freeze the AI if they are moving around or if there is other action going on.After that each marine will show up in the TOM and you can order them to attack a target or whatever you want.
  14. quote:UCSDEBUG.LOG isn't showing up anywhere on me hard drive.Huh.. Well I have XP home, not 2003 server. But it sounds like it is crashing before the logs are started. If the server is working you will get a white console window and a lot of text will scroll by with "loading such in such scripts".
  15. quote:Happen to know where the log file goes?I believe it will be saved to the universal combat folder. It will create a ucsdebug text file, among others.Do not know if that can be changed.
  16. quote: This has occurred a few more times, but If I give the order to Escort-Galcom (Galcom is in my priority list and FlyTo won't work from Earth) then engage AP the ship has no problem leaving the planet.Clever idea. I'll give that a try!
  17. quote: When I do a ucmp.exe /s /console it'll start up the UC Splash screen (black background with the white UNIVERSAL COMBAT) and then it crahses. Try adding logging to the command line (/l3).Do not know why, but it seems to make a difference for me.
  18. quote: like the aforementioned 0-9 speed controlsDude, download the latest patch (RC3).
  19. I agree. But how about 'SELLING' an addon that includes GBS3,extra IA scenarios, and maybe some ACM scenarios. Now I realize the SC has never done business this way and probably doesn't want to, but just an idea. Now I realize the logistics would be difficult and the cost would probably override any gain 3000AD would incur.... OK,I'll siddown now.
  20. quote:I have released an RC3 patch update. Thanks!! The blinking egress indicator is very helpfull. quote:How can I get RC2?There never was a RC2 released.Apparently it was just internal. Get RC3.
  21. quote: Was trying this in BCM/G but this is way cool in UCI am trying to reproduce what you did.But I can't get the gunship to takeoff no matter what I do.Is the gunship your default asset or another one on the base?I have tried tacops, the PLV and the TOM with no luck. Maybe when you have time you could give a more detailed walk-through. Thanks.
  22. quote: Hey, I have not been able to reproduce this server crash. And the console server (my version at least), works fine.OK. I just ran some more experiments and discovered that if logging is enabled (l1,l2,l3...)in the command line it will not crash and I get good log files. As soon as logging is removed it works as before. Hope this helps.
  23. When starting a multiplayer game as an insurgent with the default launch region of MP_TAPESTRAN(S) the game hangs during loading of the region script. If playing in a window (/w1) an error dialog will popup with the error: 'Null Region in Region_load'.Starting at the alternate launch region of MP_GAULAN everything works OK.
  24. quote: And what did the good doc have to say? Let me know if you want me to email the log file.
