  2. It should be arriving on my doorstep in less than an hour!
  3. quote:Originally posted by Akwar: Problem right now is when I keep trying to send my AE to SC1 it keeps placing him back on the bridge,I have no idea why.Every person I try to put on a shuttle returns to their previous station. It's probably because your ship was damaged and though you can't see it, there's probably some large I-Beams or other junk blocking the way to the shuttle decks. It could even be that the turbo lifts are inoperable. Point being, when you take damage, it may be so bad as to prevent your crew from moving around until it gets fixed. And one more tip...when battles are in your immediate space, look for cargo pods to collect (be careful of illegal items and LOSE them before you dock at a legal station to avoid penalty.) Also keep an eye out for disabled ships to tow to a spacestation. These things are more sources of money and exp to supplement your mining ops.
  4. quote:Originally posted by Akwar: Eventually my reactor overheated and blew up.Learned a great lesson here, dont underestimate lone fighters. ...AND stock up on RCU's (they're the first thing I buy when starting a new game)
  5. quote:Originally posted by Delta1: The only thing I could do was exit the craft. I didn't have comms to request a tow ship and since I didn't any shuttle craft, I couldn't evac everybody, and they slowly died from the life support sytems being down. Point is, Don't land in the water!! That's a Court Marshal if I ever heard one (at least your dreams should be plagued with the sounds of your crews last gasps.) Gotta give it to the crew though, they won't even try to save themselves from your own stupidity.
  6. There are three things you'll need in order to have an effective career in ROAM. Money, Money and more Money. As already stated, deploy some mining drones, stop at Galcom and buy some stuff, fly to Wraith or Velari and sell it, rinse repeat. Pick up and unload your drones and sell the minerals, rinse repeat. Upgrade your ship then set out to rule the Universe! Or not...the beauty is you can do anything you want!.
  7. No problem old guy Here's something else to try Ad-Aware . It may not help at all..but it's a good thing to have nonetheless!
  8. Actually this is one of things about BC that I really like. It forces you to think and come up with ways to solve problems. There ain't no lame scripting going on here. If you do something stupid chances are you'll have to pay the cost! Reminds me of the time I was heavily damaged in a battle and had to land on a planet to assess and repair. Well, I couldn't get the SC to the shuttle bays to make a supply run (the bridge was destroyed and most of the ship was severely damaged)...I kept assigning him to the SC but he wouldn't go past a certain point in the ship. Fortunately I keep marines in the shuttles to combat intruders so I was able to deploy one then exit the CC and jump on the shuttle to make my parts run. Just another tip...it is unwise to lower your shields to save energy while parked on a planet when you go out for a parts run!
  9. This is odd. Sounds to me like you may have some "spyware" or perhaps another service is running on XP that looks like (or is) a debugger. This is not something "you did", but rather some program running on your machine. First, turn off all of your background process programs (like virus checkers etc...) then go to this tweak page , it's not for the faint of heart, but it may help you resolve the issue.
  10. You can do this with BCMG using the config/keys menu. Guess it's not available in BCM.
  11. quote:Originally posted by Delta1: Speaking of demo, it is near the end of October. Is there any word on when the demo is being released? /gives Delta a new asbestos suit /hopes he wears it well Demo is on hold until after UC goes gold.
  12. I don't think balance needs to be worried about at all. This is a game with all levels of weapons, vehicles, AI skill levels etc. It's going to come down to skill and TACTICS in MP. Sure there will be the best weapons/configs to use...but that happens in ALL MP games. A noob that outfits himself with all the best gear is not guaranteed a win against an experienced player with lesser gear. Conversely, a noob with inferior gear can still take out a vet with the best gear if it's played right. Besides...most of your forces are AI (that grow with exp) so how much control do you really have over how well they perform? If you're good at strategizing, managing your crew and issuing orders you will be good at UC.
  13. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Anyway, as of ten minutes ago, its now implemented the Q3A way and its going to take some getting used to. The crosshair remains fixed at the center (regardless of POV) blah, blah, though it does drift during idle animations. So, you LADIES would have to compensate for the drift. Its realistic and I'm not planning on changing this aspect. So, we can all go home now, right? /me claps and goes home
  14. Hey Cruis.... I'd advise staying away from SW Galaxies for a while. It's got TONS of potential but is floundering with nasty bugs and some serious game imbalances. Not worth having to pay the monthly fee just yet. Give it a few more months then check it out.
  15. GC and BCMG were made for each other. I love it! (except when it accidentally shuts my engines down because I grunted) I only wish I could configure it to launch fighters and shuttles and to navigate with voice.
  16. Right 'cha... Amazon preorder
  17. Preordered from Amazon.com. Woot!
  18. Bah Humbug. Not a big fan of movies of this type though I admit that the first Xmen was pretty cool. Spiderman...meh, I imagine I'll feel the same about Hulk.
  19. Looks like it's got all of the latest and greatest. If the price is right and you like it, I'd say buy it!
  20. I think the music in BCMG is great, but I prefer to play in silence. I do the same for most games I play. I'll listen to the soundtrack for a few sessions then turn it off. In BCMG I want to hear the background noise and other game sounds to help with the immersive experience, in other games (mostly FPS) I want to hear each footstep and other sounds to know where my enemy is. You know what else I think BCMG music would be good for... hang gliding...though I never have done it myself, it seems like it would be a great fit.
