  1. Thanks Banquet! Are you working on any more with UC? I was thinking of making one, but remembering how long it took to do the one in BCMG...ugh.
  2. I'm working on converting the html appendix to my Palm Tungsten. Nothing like having all that handy reference material on your own "tricorder" eh?
  3. You seem confused as to why you couldn't walk to the shuttle. Your ship was damaged so that the way to the shuttle was blocked.

Anyway, this is a political thread, back on topic.

  6. I tried it twice. The first time was without /i, you're right, big mistake. So I tried again and while I survived just fine , my marines didn't fare so well and were dispatched in about a minute or so. So I called in my CC to strafe the base for a while. Now THAT was cool. I think I'll keep trying different strategies, taking out those bunkers is first on my list.
  7. Who let Cougar out of his cage? I was having similar difficulties, but I just tacked it up to my own ignorance (I'd never spent much time in ground ops with BCMG.) I did OK last night, and I found it's a lot easier if I hang out in the shuttle to give orders. I also noticed when they didn't have specific orders or someone to follow that they would all split up and run around in random directions. Do they become more of a cohesive unit with higher AI?

Wouldn't you be nervous in a situation like that? HEHE Yup... IntruderA: "Holy crap!, they must have cut power to the launch bays! We're as good as caught!" IntruderB: "Bummer, dude...you got a cigarette?"
  9. I found a pack of cigarettes in a shuttle once. I figured they were burning a few while waiting for me to turn launch power back on.
  10. Just to be safe I'd set TruForm to OFF (are there any games that actually use this?) You should also try disabling DXT in the video card D3D options and in the game options.

  12. NO, he's the same. Pulling tricks like returning to duty and dismissing ALL of the marines. Wouldn't have been so bad if they weren't hunting intruders at the time.
  13. Ha..my windows key has been permanently disabled since BCMG. Nothing worse that hitting it at the wrong time and it only takes that to happen once before you go do what gnowor has posted.
  14. Eh, just an update. This has occurred a few more times, but If I give the order to Escort-Galcom (Galcom is in my priority list and FlyTo won't work from Earth) then engage AP the ship has no problem leaving the planet. Odd how the AP can go vertical and achieve egress, but I can't seem to do it at 5 degrees. As far as I'm concerned since the AP can manage it's not a prob.
  15. I thought so too.
  16. Ok, here's my favorite reason: I can HJ from station to planet or vice-versa. Now I no longer need to travel 200 clicks away from a station/planet just to HJ. And when I leave a planet I don't have that 600+ distance to cover in my sluggish carrier. The others should be obvious. At one point I had to hyper to defend the Trancor from attack. I was so used to the new perspective I got a little worried I was gonna crash into the surface (even though I knew it wouldn't happen). Seriously, I was thinking "Oh shite!" It's a keeper.
  17. "Herrrrreee cooommmmmeesss annnnother one! " Gamezone "And now...the sound of John Denver being strangled..." (Quotes from: Monty Python's Contractual Obligation Album)
  18. So far so good. I actually like the stations being farther from the planets...for many reasons. No hiccups yet and I can now run it in a window. Exiting craft on a planet is much more smooth. Thanks for the thrust controls!
  19. Thanks.
  20. Aye, happened to me too, for a sec I thought there was a new reactor type.
  21. Inspired by this thread, I went digging around and found a movie I had been working on using BCMG. I was going to do a new version of it with UC, but no sense reinventing the wheel. Get it here. Sorry 'bout the 50mb download.
  22. Man the forum is freaking me out! I just got a hack warning trying to delete that second post. /runs and hides...
  23. Heh, that song brings back a lot of memories for me. I don't care what people say about you, you're OK in my book. And yes, it's a good choice.
  24. Great Job Banquet!! Lotsa real nice transitions and such. Now I'm either going to impress you or look like a fool, Music by The Stranglers?
