Could someone clarify for me the difference between UC AWA and UC Gold?
-
I havn't played UC in a while so I thought I'd get back into it by first installing the latest patch. Had some issues with the Safedisc thing, but after re-installing CloneCD and clicking to hide CDR Media, it worked fine, and I just have to say.... You've done a FANTASTIC job!, I've been playing for the past few hrs and the Smoothness and stability on the Planets is absolutely AWE INSPIRING, especially when I consider the size and scope of the planets. Before, my machine was only able to play in the space regions becuase on the planets it was a little too choppy (requiring more power than my Cheap P4-2Ghz Machine could muster) but now, it's smooth as silk. I look forward to downloading the latest version of the game as soon as it's available!
-
I thought that I would check it out after 6 months of not playing and surprisingly, my account was still there, along with 3.5 Million that I made selling things... Aparently, what has happened is that now a top level character can no longer solo taking down a Cavern full of Krayt Dragons. Now he has to strategise and get them to come out one by one to kill them. Otherwise he needs to join a group to fight. So I guess it's not too bad, I'll play it for a few more days and see what it's like.

Lineage I is mostly full of Asian players, I think that's the game that some guy Killed another guy becuase he stole his sword in the game. Lineage II was launched to apeal to US Players, though it also has a very large international crowd. Check out this Video , where they try to woo us in with MASSIVE Tits and Sexy Hips [ 05-18-2005, 08:41 AM: Message edited by: Darkling ] -

Console wars. Gotta love it. All I KNOW is with XBox 360 in store shelves this X-Mas, people won't care about Sony's promises, which will be a half year away! 2005 Will be ALL ABOUT the X-Box 360 2006 Will be ALL ABOUT the Sony PS3 (if it's not delayed again)

Hey, we'll take it. :-) Now we just have to hope that the devs don't lose sight of the fact that they are making a game that the players want to play. So far they are good about communicating with the players, and actually fixing things the players demand fixed. Oh well...a good read either way. Except for the Corporate Management situation, that's REALLY starting to annoy me. I do however like some of the changes recently made that takes the ship radius into effect when considering Missile damage. It will give newer players an actual chance in getting into the game, since they're usually the ones flying around in smaller ships. Brings into line some of the changes earlier made for Turrent Damage from larger ships to smaller ones.... CAN'T WAIT FOR THE TITANS!!! -

When the US invaded, they found over a BILLION Dollars in CASH. And that's just what they FOUND, there were Billions more put aside to fund the current rebellion going on over there, you think these guys got their weapons for free? Saddam STARVED his own people so he could hoard BILLIONS, during this time he built a home that was a MILE long, do you know how much it costs to build a home that's a MILE long!?! In addition he paid the Germans Hundreds of Millions to put a Bunker under the house before it was built. Then he turns around and Proclaims, This US Led Embargo is killing our people and starving them to death. And of course, YOU BELIEVE HIM! This one fact alone shows your utter lack of intelligence and ability draw your own conclusion. Just becuase the Media wants to sell you this garbage doesn't mean that you should buy into it. -

Florida judge denies latest appeal in Schiavo case

Oh and one more thing about the time I was hospitalized, the Dr.'s thought that there was: 1. No chance in hell for me to live past the inicial surgery. 2. No chance in hell that I would survive long enough for my stomach to heal enough for me to eat again. 3. No chance in hell for my spinal injuries to allow me to walk again. 4. No chance in hell for me to regain use of my right arm, due to Nerve Damage. And Guess what, They were WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. They were ready to write me off, but today I'm fine, I have a great family and a fantastic life. That's why you get second opinions because not everything that the Dr. Says is true. -

quote:Originally posted by Wolferz: I didn't say I wanted it for anyone other than myself. Mrs Schiavo's case is in the hands of her lawfully wedded husband. It's his decision and nobody elses. Period! This is BULLSHIT and you know it. If Terri Shiavo was Mr. Sheiavo's Daughter, HRS would come in and have an MRI done and other things to make sure that the childs rights are being protected, why? Because the child can't legally speak for themselves, especially if they are being abused. How is this any different? Did Terri TELL YOU that she wanted to die? No!, so who is looking out for Terri's best interest? Just because someone is married to someone doesn't give that person the right to kill, torture or maime the spouse. So why all of a sudden it's Oh well, we have to respect the rights of the husband, if he doesn't want her rehabilited, OK, if he doesn't want MRI's OK, if he doesn't want another Dr.'s Opinion, OK. NO PROBLEM we're just going to trust the Husband on every decision here. It doesn't matter that the parents want a second opinion, it doesn't matter that the Congress passed an ACT, that an INDEPENDANT Dr. should give a second opinion, we're just going to trust the husband on this one.... Yeah RIGHT!!! -

quote:Originally posted by Wolferz: Just another example of downright ignorant, if not barbaric, relegious dogma. Oh and Judge, I seriously doubt that even hypocrates, much less a merciful loving God would allow a patient to suffer needlessly. I am wondering have you ever been fed with a tube, Jag? I don't think that the "tube" is shoved into your breadbasket and a funnel is hooked to it for pouring in chicken soup. Quite the contrary. You are fed through an intravienous drip, so your stomach pretty much shrivels up anyway. Personally, I can't fathom the idea of being kept alive artificially for ten years. Being tapped within a broken shell is not my idea of "living" In this country we euthanize our old and sick animals to prevent them from suffering and we could be fined and or jailed for cruelty if we allow them to suffer. Human beings are animals too, no matter how many times some religious nutjob wants to say otherwise. That's all I'm going to say about that. Actually, you don't know what you're talking about here. I was fed through an Intravenous drip when I was 17 becuase my stomach was so badly damaged that I couldn't digest food. During only a 1 month period of being fed this way I went from 175LBS of PURE Muscle down to a skeletal 95 LBS. It's IMPOSSIBLE for them to REALLY feed you this way, for your body to process nutrition properly, it MUST be digested by your stomach and pass through the intestines for the nutrients to be absorbed. The technology doesn't exist to intraveniously give people any more than around 10% of what they need to survive. The only reason that I survived was becuase I was in such good shape physically, if it wasn't for that I would have died for sure. Terry Shivo was being fed with a tube that was hooked up to her Throat with blended food, with enzymes added to aid digestion, but it was definetly going through her stomach -

Let's see, would I rather program for Microsoft where I get paid for it, or for IBM where I don't get paid for it. HMMMMM..... -

Report: U.S. Lost 1.5 Mln Jobs to China in 1989-2003
Darkling replied to jamotto's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
quote:Originally posted by jamotto: The report was prepared by the pro-labor Economic Policy Institute for the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, a congressionally-appointed panel that has pushed for a tough U.S. approach to China on trade. A "Pro Labor" group put this together, what did you think they would say? Everyone is wondering why it is that inflation hasn't hit double digits with Oil prices going up so high, the reason is lower pricing pressures everywhere, mostly generated from China, this has allowed the lowest interest rates in decades with advantages like, super low borrowing costs, allowing most Americans to afford ever larger homes, even with Real Estate prices rising. Low interest rates are the key to a higher standard of living becuase so many things depend on it, such as Auto loans and the ability for businesses to obtain credit. Does the report add in all the millions of Construction jobs created by the housing boom? I doubt it, do they really think that interest rates would be so low today (which caused the Real Estate Boom) without the lower pricing pressures from China? I don't think so. Just a few Decades ago, Reagan inherited double digit inflation and decided to let in a torrent of low cost goods from China, Taiwan & Japan, as expected Labor cried fowl, and claimed that the U.S. would lose millions of jobs, and they were right, but back then, unemployment was at around 12% and after Regan left office it was down to around 5%, so yes even though there were millions of Manufacturing Jobs lost, those jobs were more than made up for in other sectors of the ecomomy and we ended up much stronger in the end. Also, Manufacturing jobs are being lost World Wide, becuase of things like Automation, the same thing that brought half the U.S. population out of the farmlands and into the modern world, should we all go back to being farmers? -
Let's see, most of these people want us dead, but now that they're dying, we have to rush in with all that we've got? When our friends need our help we pull out all the stops, when our enemy's need our help, well we help them out too, we just don't pull out all the stops, Period. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Also, things in the US work a little differently than in other countries, In most other country's the people expect the government to act, then they go about their business, I think that you will see that private donations and assistance in the U.S. will far exceed not only all other governments and their private donations put together, but also it will exceed all assistance that you will see from the U.S. Government itself. U.S. Citizens are inherently a very generous people.

quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: I just really think a large portion of this country lives their daily lives in the distant past and is not ready for a female President.I think you're dead wrong, if someone like Margaret Thatcher showed up in the political scene in the U.S. she would probably be THE most electable candidate ever. This country wants someone who is conservative (Read REPUBLICAN), but at the same time in in touch with the issues. And women are percieved to be more in touch than men. The problem however, is that most of the Women in Power, such as Clinton, are so far out on the left that they would never have a chance to win the Beltway of America. Think about it, why did Clinton win, becuase he SOUNDED like a Republican, remember his "The Era of Big Government Is Over" speech?

quote:Originally posted by nomad: It is probable that after having succeeded to divide the US, Mr. Bush will now achieve to divide the world. ...Give me a break, the U.S. was already divided WELL BEFORE Bush stepped into office. Take a look at what the Democrats stand for and you will see why the Majority of Americans no longer support this out of touch group: 1. Support for Abortion on demand, even the BRUTAL practice of Partial Birth Abortions, where the child is delivered only to his/her neck, then a needle is stuck in the back of the Baby's head to suck out his/her brains. 2. Support for Gay Marriage. 3. Lack of support for a strong military. 4. Support for educating 8-12 year old Girl Scouts about "Healthy" sexual appetites - along with a Graphic and descriptive coloring book, (behind their parents backs) and then telling them that if they should get pregnant, just get an Abortion (this is what lead to the Girl Scout Cookie boycott in Texas) I could go on and on, but I think you get my point. The Democrats have just gotten SOOO out of touch with what the average American wants, it's not even funny. Even most Democrats don't support some of those 4 points that I've laid out along with many of their other outlandish priorities, but they support them, only because they think that the Democrats might help them out financially, and so are willing to sell their souls for cold hard cash. quote:Originally posted by nomad: .. a recent poll displayed that among important nations, only Israel & Russia favorised the reelection of Mr. Bush ... For pretty much the rest of the world, the US is only worth as an economic partner. Let's hope that we will be able to mend fences before the current dynamics lead to an irrevocable gap....And then what? Are they then going to stop selling goods to us? Are they then going to stop asking for our help to resolve their problems, (like Yugoslavia)? Please. Until the EU can put together a reasonable Army and get themselves out of the MASSIVE debts that they are in, they DEPEND on the U.S. for all sorts of help both Financially and Militarily. The problem with most of the world is that they want us to solve their problems for them and at the same time, tell us how to do it. Sorry but the we're nobody's Bi***. quote:Originally posted by nomad: To give an idea of the cultural & political abyss, just these days, a future member of the european commission has been censured and forced to quit by the european parliament who represents 450 million citizens, because the guy criticised homosexuality and expressed conservator views about the concept of family. And this is one of the reasons why we don't see Eye to Eye with the EU. Many men who are Homosexuals were at one point Married and have Children, so obviously, they are able to function in a normal manner, however Homosexuality is wrong. Period. It is a Sexual urge that needs to be suppressed. Just as I need to suppress any sexual urges that I get when I see a hot woman enter the room, why? Because I'm married and so Adultery is wrong. Period. Just as Bestiality is a sexual urge that needs to be suppressed. Just as Pedofilia is a sexual urge that needs to be suppressed. Just as Necrofilia is a sexual urge that needs to be suppressed. Just as Incest is a sexual urge that needs to be suppressed. Why is it that out of all the Abnormal Sexual urges, Homosexuals beleive that they deserver to have theirs excluded from urges that need to be suppressed and given special treatment? It doesn't make sense to me and it doesn't make sense to most Americans. quote:Originally posted by nomad: I've been following discussions among US expats & US citizens currently living in the US, and I was amazed when I saw people speaking about leaving the US would Bush be reelected. I believe that if you want things to change, the worst reaction is to leave. But I don't know, maybe this reflects the level of desesperation some americans have reached. Anyhow, all this doesen't project a bright future and it's sad. And where would they go? One of my employees used to live in England for 5 years and in Columbia for 7. He was telling me that he made slightly more in England than here, but the cost of living was around double what it is here in the U.S. (or at least here in South Florida). He also said to me that Columbia was a pretty dangerous place to live becuase of all the Rebels, so all in all, no matter who wins the presidency, he says there's no way he would leave the U.S. The truth is that U.S. citizens live better than anyone else in the world, we have more of everything, Open spaces, cars, homes - sq. footage too, parks, roads, security, income, we have it all, we are the envy of the world and there is NO WHERE in the world that you can go that has it better. Period.

Predictions of the outcome of tuesday
Darkling replied to Baloogan's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
quote:Originally posted by Blerm: I think Florida and Ohio should vote one day earlier than everyone else. They just take too long. Kerry just got CA and possibly WA. Still close. Actually, here in Florida we now have Early voting, where we can go to the polls 2 weeks early to vote at specially assigned early voting stations. Also, we've replaced the punchcards with electronic voting machines so the results come in fairly quickly. The only reason it was taking long to call the state is because it was a fairly close call. Down south in Dade Broward and Palm Beach, Kerry won, but Bush won most if not all of the rest of the state. -
