I was wondering if anyone, includding SC have heard anything at all about this Online game called AFRICA? Its supposed to be set in the 1300's and it looks rather interesting. If anyone has thoughts or comments, I'd be interested in reading them.

I read the review. The game is difficult, but definitely playable, and it's realistic because in combat, you can be killed in seconds! Also, the learning curve is steep, but it's for people who like to deal with that, not for people who want to just jump in and play. The review is totally unfair! Derek Smart has done things not seen in any other game and for some reason people don't want to give him credit. I hope this game gets developed for XBox 360, too, darn it!

My dog Hercules. H rescued him from a cruel owner. His personality is changing right before my eyes. He is a Lab/Shepherd mix and a beautiful, great dog.

I choose the Garid. I like the looks of it since BCMG and that agressive look has carried over to UC. I always choose the police commander career and protect trade lanes from raiders. Sometimes I put key star regions on lock-down status when infested with too much raider vermin. The armor is first class and has saved me from the games AI several times. Its slow on HJ travel time (like the real cops I guess) but does well on first strike attacks. Its a good all around trade/enforcement vessel, and thats what I like to do. Anyone else like the Garid?

This is my first post ever on the forum. First, thanks everyone for all the generous info, it is like a real community...with a stern taskmaster. Anyone ever played "hardwar?" That community is like this one: fanatical and innovative and helpful. For 19.99 UC is a bargain. I bought two and haven't opened the second box. I have owned the game for a month and have begun to get the hang of things. Its fantastic. Each version improves. Other games have "better" graphics but UC gameplay is great. i think the coolest thing is that you can get as detailed as you like. For now i am just mastering space-ops and thats a handful. You can play this game for months on end and never quit a game you started. Thats all I ever wanted.
