ok, i patch according to the faq, i does what it says and the patched game is not running...the safedisc screen is not appearing, so what do i do now?

i made this thread so that i can hear of people's war stories, and of course post mine...i'll start with one of my first ones, this comes all the way from BC3000AD. it was a seemingly fine day sitting outside a science caste spacestation. my ae sipping his coffee...all of a sudden there is a mercenary group trying to raid the station. sa any sane commander would do i raised shields and set the iod strength to 70% (good power-and-speed setting on 3000AD i've come to find) and i engaged, trying to protect the nearest space-station that hadn't been destroyed, or just wouldn't let me in. well, the warmonger got destroyed and a few fighters were claimed by nightwing, lace and the rest of my pilots and the others of the group has got taken down...come to find out there had been thrice as many cruisers cloake, waiting for any response from me and the spaec station. it was a hard fight, i kept my SEs on call, my FEs ready just in case and the medics ready to fix up anyone who needed it. after engaging about 10 or so ships successfully i had come to find that my preformance was detiororating due to a damaged reactor. i threw all the SEs i had at the problem and they fixed it. the only question was 'how the #%$& do i get back to the science guys to get my ship fixed!?' i did this by deploying a medic and my ae into shuttle 4, which had barely been snafu-ed and limped back with the shuttle carrying the cruiser.

i found my copy of BC3000AD one night searching in the garage. it was my step-brother's copy but henever played it anymore, so i asked bothhim and my step-dad if i could commandeer it and i was given permission. now, i played it and i still recall my first reaction of " " at the addictiveness. there's a story behind how i found the cd too, but i'll save that for another time

well, for one thing, i do like the Stormcarrier...and the Stormcarrier GCV-Alexandra has done some pretty good service to galcom, but as far as my other ship....i'll stick with the traditional and often durable Mk3

my ship is the GCV-Alexandra after a young woman i once upon a time (and to this day still do) have a crush on... and to remind me that since i dropped out and decided to pursue job corps as an alternative that the chances of my never getting any further than friends with her is now ten-fold....you all may now begin slapping me. on occasion i will also give it a name relevant to my warhammer 40k imperial guard army: the GCV-Macronian Vengeance. both of these ships are in a fan-fic story i am writing, third chapter in...based mostly on the wharmhammer 40k game, and the battlecruiser series

after faq instructions i get them bcconfig, bcsetup, etc., etc., etc. files...do i delete the same older files? (bcmconfig, bcmsetup, blah blah blah)

....anyone who can tell me how to change the command line thing in XP please reply! i can't figure out how to do that!

mind if i ask how to properly install it? i installed the game in it's default directory, so...yeah...stuff

i am serious about getting tech support, the main reason i started this thread was to find out how to fix the patch. otherwise i would not have bothered.

and i apologise if i sound stupid at timew during the next few days, i have an extremely bad cold and my brain won't work properly from time to time
