Greetings and well met! Hopefully this isn't something I'm *not* supposed to be asking here, but I'm getting all turned around with this and I'm thinking it's probably something easy that could be pointed out to me. I've read the manual, the VCF, every file in the documents folder, searched the forums, and I'm coming up blank. Granted, I've come up with several other really cool things I like to do with the game (and some posts that almost answered my questions), but I'm still not doing what I want to do. Anyway, hopefully someone can point out to me what I'm doing wrong.
Given: My copy of UC is patched up to RC4. I've already deployed troops to the surface of a planet either via the transporter, or by shuttle.
Question: How to retrieve troops from the planet via shuttle.
Steps I've taken:
1) Use Tac-Ops to find my troops and halt them.
3) Using the waypoint system, select SC1 and add a waypoint (WP1).
4) Set WP1 as "Proceed to Next".
5) Use "Set Pos" to position WP1 on the map (+25km from team).
6) Add waypoint (WP2) and set it to "Extract Team".
7) Use "Set Pos" to place WP2 fairly close to the team (several meters from them).
8) Launch shuttle SC1.
9) Use Tac-Ops to find my troops and either click the EVAC box, or issue RTB (which puts EVAC over their heads).
What occurs: The shuttle launches, follows the waypoints, and then lands picture perfect. However the troops never do move from their position although they are marked for EVAC. I can use the teleporter to pull them back to the CC, but I know there's gotta be a way to get them into the shuttle (and I'm just not doing it correctly).
Am I just going about this all wrong and I need to retrieve them like a mining drone (i.e. use Target instead of Set Pos from Tac-Ops), or would this only grab the one guy I targeted? Or do I simply not use a "Set Pos" for WP 2 and allow the shuttle to "find" the troops flagged with the "Evac" tag? Thanks ever so much for letting me know where I'm going awry concerning this!
**Edited to clarify that this is for UC, patched up to RC4**
