New Fleet Locations
Andergum replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
NOOOOOO!!!!! Destiny gone???? That means we have to.... 1. re-assign all our commanders to new stations 2. re-type the Insurgent roster 3. re-do out fleet structure pic 4. re-do our web pages In short everything that Rattler, myself and many others have been working on for the past few weeks just got all jumbled again... moaning ain't the word... ah well, it does seem more balanced that way... (btw - Sygan is spelled wrong in the list) ------------------ Cmdr. Andergum Spectre Fleet Pre. comm. Cmdr. New America StarStation ICV Gummy 1 Official tester of BC3K the series... First off, thanks to Rattler for assigning me with the task of building and outfitting New America... (asteroid mining has already begun) Secondly, congratulations to Cmdr. Spacephish who was promoted to CSO of New America, and to Cmdr. Powercow who was named CEO of New America. Also, would everyone please check your email address and other info on the fleet list! Many of the addresses were taken from the BC roster page. (My address has changed 3 times since then so I'm sure some of them are wrong.) Also, if there is any information missing, such as ICQ #'s or ship names/name changes etc... please be sure to post it here. Regular updates will be made to the ICV roster to keep things updated and correct as much as possible. Thanks ------------------ Cmdr. Andergum Spectre Fleet Pre. comm. Cmdr. quote: Nice layout Andergum. One question: Is everything listed in order of importance (top down)? Gum: yes quote: If so, what's the mess of ranks between Cmdr. and Flt.Cmdr. and what are their function (if any)? Also, SSC, CSO, CEO all seem like JOBS not ranks?!?! For instance, to be a SSC you'd have to at least carry the rank of Lt.Cmdr. but could be as high as a Flt.Cmdr. (even Supreme Cmdr. in some instances) Gum:after looking at it I think that station/base commanders and their XO's should be the equivalent of the Admiral ranks with the admiral ranks deleted... quote: what about the general ranks in the army/marines?? Gum: probably the same thing applies... to the generals.. quote: Additionally, the Admiral ranks are simply a throwback to US military structure which would not be in use in a unified world based command like GALCOM. Of course, this is assuming that all friendly space bourne entities are still under the control of GALCOM. Gum: agree.. but I didn't want to delete the army, navy, airforce ranks till the SC had his say on this... there are Naval units in BC3K now... probably with more to come in BCM/3020... are they under the jurisdiction of galcom officers? do they have their own officers? I don't know either... so I left em in for discussion purposes... and for SC to rip em out... quote: I'm interested in what your thoughts/reasoning are about much of the list. Also (as if I haven't put my foot in things enough), is there a need for the seperate branches (army, af, navy, marines) within the GALCOM structure? Wouldn't the forces have been joined by this time or is there a need for the specialized services each branch brings? Gum: see above.. I don't know either hehe quote: Anyway, very nice document. Gum: thanks.. its only a start.. and I've uploaded the file in excel 95 form now so the others can get it and have a look. ------------------ Cmdr. Andergum ICV Gummy 1 Spectre Fleet, Cmdr. Thanks Akira.. Yes I know that the officers listed are just jobs on the BC.. just mentioned them because up til now its all I've seen as far as ranks/jobs go... (along with the high ranks) I also have a printout of the ranks that Ristar put together... that along woth the other info from the Rank thread as well as what I've collected, should be enough to make a complete list of all the ranks in the game... RP or otherwise.. I'll work on this and post something soon... ------------------ Cmdr. Andergum ICV Gummy 1 Spectre Fleet, Cmdr. Sygan StarStation Official tester of BC3K the series... hehe yeah... Ok here's the deal.. since it seems that no one else has made a full list of the ranks... then I will! When I'm done I'll post a link to it... they, everyone can offer their criticisms, ideas etc... BTW Derek I'll just use the rank order as shown with the experience points table... the page with the pics on it shows a different order for the top ranks.. but since the points are tied to the ranks... and in the game, I'll use those.. there that wasn't too hard... ------------------ Cmdr. With all of the activity at the forum among all the fleets... getting organized, assigning commands etc... I thought it would be a good idea to have a list of what the Galcom ranks are? Is there such a list? Is someone working on one? If not I'll help... I just need guidelines for the ranks for BC3K... I've downloaded lists of military rankings from the US and British - navy, air force, army and marines, as a starting point... and placed them alongside each other for comparison... I also started looking at the Galcom ranks listed in the manual.. I see... Supreme Commander-200000 points Tacops Commander-100000 points Strategic Commander-50000 points Fleet Commander-25000 points Commander-0 points (note...Appendix M's Alien Nations Database shows the pictures of the Galcom officers in a different order. It has the fleet commander above the strategic and tacops commanders, with the strategic and tacops switched as well... just noticed this... DOH!) and ship officers... Commander Research Officer Chief Engineer Medical Officer Tactical Officer Combat Officer Navigation Officer Communications Officer Flight Officer and that's about it... as far as I see... I assume that a general military format is to be followed.. for ground, air, water, and space officers, as well as for the elite command... with a good dash of star trek thrown in... just looking for guidance.... anything out there?? ------------------ Cmdr. Well, its great to see a new insurgent base!!! And such a fine one at that! As far as who should Command her? We'll leave that one up to you Rattler... hehe R.H.I.P. (rank has its problems) Ron has suggested that it be used for security... but I don't think so. First off, its NEW!! We wouldn't want our prisoners to feel any sense of luxury in a new jail cell . Also the name "New America" seems to symbolize a rebirth of some sort... Like a new start for the insurgents to build on. Hardly seems fitting for a security complex. I see New America more as a training or research facility, a defensive installation or perhaps an outpost on the edge of the Insurgent's new territory. At any rate... the question has come up of what sort of fleet command structure to have. Well I think that may depend on where the new base is to be situated in relation to the others. Since BCM will have a complete new universe connected to the old one there is no telling where it might end up in relation to the other existing bases. That is of course assuming that all the current bases still exist in BCM. We may end up with a base on one end of the galaxy (Sygan), a more centrally located base(Spectre) and New America at the other end of the galaxy. It might be best to wait to see what happens as far as base logistics and the storyline for BCM. However, I was thinking that we might want to have a command structure something like this.... Insurgent One - Supreme Insurgent Leader and Commander of the Spectre Starstation. Star Station and Star Base commanders - In charge of their base and sector surrounding the base. Report directly to Insurgent One Task Force commanders - In charge of their fleet of ships. To be stationed and moved around the galaxy as needed. They would report back to the nearest base commanders and of course, to Insurgent One.. The number of Task Force commanders would depend on how many ships and commanders we have to deploy. Task forces could be assigned as support for bases and stations or just to patrol sections of the galaxy with no Insurgent Installations (not yet anyway...), or etc...As the fleet grows and more recruits come into the fold, we may even want to have a couple of Fleet Commanders to keep things organized. We also are in need of a few more "officers" (read volunteer workers) someone for record keeping... and perhaps for recruitment... Also, I have been thinking that we Insurgents may want to have our own Fleet Insignia and uniform colors. I know that several of the commanders already have their individual ship insignia... but I was thinking more along the lines of common unified symbol. Insignia design ideas and artists are welcome... We should also think about what our uniform color should be. I was thinking dark grey, black or tan... anything but that hated blue Galcommie color!! YUK! Any suggestions???? ------------------ Cmdr. Actually the list contains anyone who has ever posted here in the Roster as an insurgent. (or something reasonably close) The current names (at the top of the list) are the Commanders who responded to Rattler's call to arms in the Fleet ops forum. We had originally planned to attempt to contact those lurking at the bottom of the list, but haven't done so yet. If you know of any others, feel free to contact Rattler or myself... the Insurgency can use as many commanders as we can get! ------------------ Cmdr. I do have a database of most of the Insurgent Commanders, Ship names, Fleet assignments, email addresses (some) etc... I'll fire off a copy to Rattler tonight for his approval... RP on Commander Andergum sat in his office, gazing at the pinpoints of starlight slowly streaming past his portal. His thoughts were filled with those of his long departed father and of what might have been From the distance, he heard the rumblings of repairmen feverishly installing a new shield system. "good" he though to himself. Reports of numerous bounties being placed on his head, had him a bit concerned and the recent attempt on his life by Galcom operatives had him concerned as well "Why would Galcom sent two assassins to kill me" he thought surely the information he had uncovered from the Starsearch's data core was damaging but assassins? "there must be something more" he muttered to himself. Just then, a message from his reasearch officer interrupted his thoughts Research Officer Lewis - "Commander I've been able to restore a bit more of the information from the data core you'd better get down here I think you'll want to see this." Commander Andergum- "on my way" His mind raced as he rode the turbo lift to his ship's lab "what could it be?" he wondered He arrived at the lab and was greeted with the usual salute Commander Andergum- "At ease Lewis what have you found?" Research Officer Lewis - "Well sir, I've been able to reconstruct part of the core which contained some of the Starsearch's navigation and communication data" Commander Andergum. - "Excellent and?" Research Officer Lewis - "well here's the interesting part.it appears that the Starsearch and the Recovery entered Gammulan space at nearly the same point as the last known location of the Stargazer they followed what they believed was the last known flight path of the Stargazer for several days then the Starseeker gave orders for the Recovery to continue the search on its current course while they split off and appeared to follow this Valkyrie freighter " Commander Andergum- "Hmmm that's odd" Research Officer Lewis - " yes it is and there's more" Commander Andergum- "more?" Research Officer Lewis - "yesThe Starsearch followed the freighter for several days passing through several jump points and what's really odd is that they kept their cloaking system active the entire time!!!" They only uncloaked because they had exhausted their supply of Iridium that's when the confrontation took place... and with it the eventual destruction of the Starsearch." Commander Andergum- "Hmm why would they follow that freighter for so long and cloaked as well" Research Officer Lewis - "well, that's what we are trying to find out some of the data is missing on where they went exactly but it is pretty clear from the scans of the freighter, that it was carrying some of the purest ores I've ever seenand tons of em!!" Commander Andergum- "WOW!" Research Officer Lewis - "That's nothing the system scans from the freighter indicate that the freighter was empty when they started following her and full at the end which means" Commander Andergum- "which means that the ores came from somewhere on that flight path!!" Research Officer Lewis - "It sure looks like it The only problem is that these records have been altered someone wiped out the middle section intentionally" Commander Andergum- "Hmmm.. I'm not surprised by that were there any communications with Galcom during that part of the mission?" Research Officer Lewis - "doesn't appear so they did fire off a probe just before the final jump point there could have been a message on it, but we have no way of telling what the message wasassuming there was one" Commander Andergum- "Well, keep working on it and I want the highest security possible on that data core don't let any unauthorized personnel near it!" Research Officer Lewis - "aye aye sir" Commander Andergum walked back to the turbo lift and started the short ride back to the bridge suddenly the entire ship lurched and he heard the loud thud of the impact of a missile on the ships hull. Commander Andergum- "Engineering , status report!" Engineering Officer Concepcion - "Sir, we've taken a direct his to our aft section  it doesn't look bad but if we take another." Commander Andergum- "are the shields ready?" Engineering Officer Concepcion - "uh no not yet" Commander Andergum- "Damn! .. red alert red alert red alerttactical lay in a course and get us the hell out of here" Tactical Officer Kaminsky- " To where Commander?" Commander Andergum - " anywhere.. just get us out of here engage the hyper drive as soon as its charged!" Tactical Officer Kaminsky- " aye sir, laying in a course" As the turbo lift neared the bridge Commander Andergum could hear the beepbeepbeep of the incoming missile alert.the beeps were increasing in volume and speedbeep beep beep beep beep. the turbo lift doors opened to reveal the bridge and the full screen viewer which was now zoomed to full magnification, and displaying two Galcom cruisers closing fast Commander Andergum - Activate EMD jammer. activate weapons launch crab mines. WHAAAMMM!!! Another missile had hit this time the explosion ripped through the hull the deafening sound echoed throughout the ship The huge hyperdrive engines were now straining in their mountswhining with power then a flash The stars on the bridge viewscreen turned to streaks, and the Gummy 1 dissappeared into a point of light they had made it. This time ------------------ Cmdr. Andergum ICV Gummy 1 Spectre, Chief Security Officer Official tester of BC3K the series... Long live the Insurgency! RP definately on... Well it seems that the true reason for my defection must now be told... I do not wish to bring dishonor to Rattler or to the Insurgency whom have offered me a home in my time of need... Rather, the story I am about to tell, will bring to light the true nature of Galcom. As you well know, a research vessel, the GCV Stargazer, was the first to enter Gammulan territory back in 2998. This was to be a peaceful information gathering mission, nothing more. Soon afterward, all contact with her was lost and the GCV Recovery and the GCV Starsearch were sent to look for her. They too were never heard from again... until now that is. A year ago while on patrol near the Gammulan / Valkerie border I picked up what appeared to be a faint, intermittent distress signal coming from a small uncharted moon. After a few days of searching we found the source of the signal. It was coming from an escape pod from the GCV Starsearch!! On board the escape pod were the remains of two crewman... one officer and one scientist. Their bodies were burned and decomposed beyond recognition, but what they had with them told the story. They had taken the Starsearch computer's main databank with them and although it was badly damaged, my reasearch engineer was able to extract some information from it. This information has changed my view of Galcom for the rest of my life, you see, my father served aboard the Starsearch. My father was one of the finest fighter pilots assigned to the Starsearch, with dozens of confirmed kills to his credit. He knew the dangers of his job and accepted them, willingly. In fact he knew the danger of this mission before he volunteered for it. He knew he might never see his family again when he headed off for this, his final mission. What he didn't know was the how the greed of a starship commander would seal his fate. The information extracted from the Starsearch data banks detail the events right up until their confrontation with the Gamullans. Apon, entering Galcom space... they came apon a Valkyrie cargo vessel. The Starseach commander hailed them and began asking questions about the Stargazer. It was at this point that the commander received the results of the scans they had performed on the cargo ship. The cargo vessel was carrying a rather large load of precious gems and ores, enough for a Starship comander to retire on. He immediately attacked the freighter, accusing them of having something to do with the disapperance of the Stargazer. He destroyed the freighter and stole the cargo for himself. Shortly afterward, a fleet of some twenty or more Gammulan warships appeared from nowhere. They had probably heard the distress calls from the freighter and had come to rescue her. They immediately attacked the Starsearch, and destroyed her on the spot. The GCV Recovery fell soon after... I doubt my father's fighter even cleared its fighter bay. All this time I had been told that he died a heroes death... that he gave his life to protect the human race... Well it was all a lie! I joined the Galcom Academy, with the hope of following in my fathers footsteps. I hoped for a chance to avenge his death and once again bring honor to the family's name, to destroy the Gammulans and their allies... I believed it all. All the propaganda... all the hatred... all the lies... but I know the truth now... and I will not rest until I finally do avenge my father. Except now my fight is with Galcom and they will pay dearly... I circulated the story about the cargo inspection to protect others from the lies. I thought there was no need to sully the memories of others who might have had family who served aboard the starsearch. The dead inspectors??? In truth they were galcom operatives, probably sent to collect the Starsearch's data core. I'm sure that Galcom would like hide this dirty little secret of theirs. That will no longer be possible... ------------------ Cmdr. Andergum ICV Gummy 1 Spectre, Chief Security Officer Official tester of BC3K the series... Long live the Insurgency! My smuggling talents aren't all that I bring to the Insurgency. After several years of missions in almost every corner of the galaxy, I've made many "friends". These "friends" of mine, deal in more than just the finest ales in the galaxy. They also have access to information and the best black market weaponry available, weaponry that you will need to fight off the Galcom fleet. Rattler has known of my many dis-aggrements with Galcom in the past and has offered me a place in the insurgency on several occasions. I've taken him up this time because we now have a common enemy. I can't go back to Galcom now after what I've done. I'm probably their most wanted man right now attacking a galcom vessel, killing galcom personel, theft of a galcom battlecruiser, espionage... no, I can't go back now besides, you need me as much as I need you. I have passed information to Rattler, that Galcom will soon be intensifying their efforts against the Insurgency. You are a bigger thorn in their side than you know. They can't afford to fight the Gammulans and have their ships raided and destroyed by you as well There will come a time when they will come for us and the more of us there are the better chance we have to defeat them. The online wars are coming, and we will be ready for them... ------------------ Official BC3K Tester and Commander of the ICV Gummy 1 ICQ # 215323 [This message has been edited by Andergum (edited 08-29-99).] [This message has been edited by Andergum (edited 08-29-99).]

Effective immediately... due to a recent disagreement with a Galcom Cargo Inspection unit during a random inspection near Titan... I will be joing the ranks of the Insurgency. I can understand their displeasure with my transporting of Illegal empirian ale (again)... and I can even take the associated reprimand, but to confiscate my own personal stash and then be seen consuming it rather than turning it in!!! Well, that was the final straw. I doubt that Galcom will forgive my actions... as that crew will not be reporting back to base again. What remains of their shuttle, can be picked up drifting near the jump point at Jupiter. So beware all you Galcommies! The ranks of the insurgency are growing!! Party at the den Rattler!!! the ale is on me! Cmdr. Andergum ICV Gummy 1
