  1. The reason behind my statement is, when I played UO a few years back, the focus was PvP and cheating the system to get more of it. People were more concerned with killing each other than playing the damned game... Maybe it was just the server I was on. If RP has become the main focus, maybe I'll take a look.
  2. I would of thought UO to be dead by now...what's its secret?
  3. Battleships are still viable, methinks. There is already a mod to stick cruise missiles on them, and I've heard somewhere or another talk about putting rocket sustainers on the shells for the big guns. Talk about being able to reach out and touch someone...
  4. Nah, that's the second most effective antivirus method. THE most effective is total physical destruction of the disk. It's also the most satisfying method (especially when some kind of firearm is involved)
  5. A self-distributing retro-virus? Now -that- is the first good use of a script-kiddie's time I've seen yet.
  6. Nah, just dont go any farther south than northern Dade county and you'll be fine.. (speaking as someone that lived in Largo/St. Pete)
  7. Beaker! Strangely, I'm not surprised.
  8. I kinda knew the R-27AE was too good to be true.. Oh well, now when someone dies to a Flanker, they cant blame it on the missiles...
  9. quote:Originally posted by Kalshion: The training is hard though if you don't have the mind of a marine So, me being in the Air Force, I'm SOL? I'll show you!... just as soon as I get done fixing the TACAN (again..)
  10. Ooooh...they're using the X-plane core engine on this one. Fully modeled planet... Dynamic Campaign... WW3 simulation anyone?
  11. I guess they never did fix the problem with gene-fading. You know, cloning a clone. Things just seem to regress more and more, the more you do it *eyes Resnig* So think about this...the more times you kill Resnig...the stupider he gets...
  12. I play it alot, yup. And I think more than a few here know about it, as people that whine about realism in the BC series are always pointed in it's direction. It's defintely a nice sim for people that like to see just what they are capable of in 'the real world'.
  13. Nononono, SC, shame on you! Use the proper tool for the job. You dont use a screwdriver for that... Get a set of Snap-on needle-nose locking pliers. Works like a charm, and you dont get any extra pry-marks on your keyboard.
  14. When you drive your CC nose-first into the pacific, just to see what happens. (well, either a noob, or very bored)
  15. Well, if you aint got the fuel for it, you could always use a shuttle. Just leave your CC someplace safe (Mine usually sits parked at Marathon Key, Fl), with HALT orders, then grab a shuttle and move some cargo. Once you got the bankroll for it and some upgrades, -then- start using your CC (for the larger cargo hold).
  16. That's MY popcorn, you thieving mooks!
  17. Let's see.... Idea that cant possibly be satisfied? Forgot it at home... Comments that'll get the SC to smack me? Cant think of any... Hmm...all I got is brown-nosing, praise and endless admiration, guess it'll have to do Seriously, though, a single seemless area for multiplayer games does seem like a decent idea to me. The only thing that worries me, is probably already being worked on, and that is AI pathfinding. I'm SURE that SC is already working on making sure that AI's will use jumpgates rather than trying to fly straigth to somewhere. He wouldnt be the SC without thinking of EVERYTHING! (Ok, maybe I did have an 'SC, please smack me' comment after all)
  18. Ok, after getting a chance to see the trailers I now stand corrected. It could actually be a decent movie. The ships actually still have that model look to them, and the designs didnt change much at all (Thunderbird 2 still looks badass)
  19. quote:Originally posted by street: poor resnig.....NOT even worth the price of a bullet! What about a grenade? A wise man once said 'There are no problems that the application of high explosives cant fix.'
  20. Man, what the heck are you thinking? You might scratch the paint or something trying to run Resnig's lard-can over. Or worse, something might get wrapped around an axle. You're better off shooting him, preferably with either the largest calibur weapon you can find, high explosives, or a small calibur weapon to the crotch (after you shoot each of his extremities first).
  21. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: Here, let me show you... That looks about normal. You get used to finding 'dark' ships by looking for self-lit features and occlusion (stars disappearing that shouldnt be) after a while. I actually like it.
  22. Hmmm...as said earlier, I cant see a live-action Thunderbirds being quite right. Now, maybe if Mainframe (ReBoot, Beast Wars) was hired for a CG version, I could see that. Could also, -possibly- see an animated version. But surely something other than live-action.
  23. SC, first look at the people that frequent these forums when you ask that question... If it is even remotely possible, SOMEONE will try it...repeatedly...until they are certain it either doesn't work, or it does and they get bored with it.
  24. quote:Originally posted by NukeIt: That's not to say I haven't already managed to blow myself, my CC, and my crew up in every concievable way known to man. Are you sure you've tried -every- way? Including shuttle-surfing (the killing you part), gas-giant diving (the CC part), and using Resnig's face for taget practice (the crew part)? You can never find too many ways to end your career
