  1. I have all three games. Personaly I'd put money on ANY 3000AD title any day. Freelancer I played for 5 days got everything beat the game got bored real quick. X2 while very interesting became very lathargic(sp?) after 5 hours of play unless you play the linear story line. If not you get enough money to buy a station and sit and wait for it to make money to buy another station to wait for more money ect. while you listen to the endless banter of Ban Danna whining "why aren't you doing any missions" UC who could not love this title unless you are more inclined to play the click and shoot games with no thought. I for one love being able to drop my drones off in Lennon to mine for some cash while I fly off to kick insurgent butt. My oppinion.
  2. Anyone have a link to the table Mr. Smart is refering to I did a search on the entire forum using different search keywords but could not find it. Thanks
  3. Excelent, I'll have to look for that. But, I'm trying to make more of an interactive table. Users enter a starting and ending location and the program displays the top 5-10 trade items for not only the destination but the return trip, along with profit margin and weight per item. It's more or less for educational purposes to see if it can be the first working program. I haven't had much success with other ideas.
  4. Is the station's economy static or does it change based on your trading and NPC trading. So far after about 20 hours of game play I've noticed no change in suply and demand prices. The reason for this question is that im writing a small little program that will calculate best item for trade based on route and best route based upon item. I'm hoping that there are poeple out there who have alot more game time out there to clarify this for me thanks.
  5. quote: Name one..name One other game out now that requires a vertex renderer quote: If I recall, X2 requires it and so does FFXI Online... oh yea the upcoming EQ2 hmmm and another lets see... There were a couple more that required it but the information exludes me And Deus Ex: Invisible war don't forget that one. Even with a vertex and pixle shader 2.0 the game runs poorly i've a fairly kick ass system and i have to run that one in 800x600 and its still choppy (I've never realy liked eidos and Ion Storm though)
  6. I'm Playing Universal Combat. V. 1.01 I didn't see a more up to date patch but I might be wrong. I cant try your advice because I never get a chance to input any commands or take control. It exits the animation and the craft is already crashed I should rename my asset to "Value Jet"
  7. LOL I had the same problem. My wife was pissed when she found out I spent 150 bucks on a new card. But I already had a counter mesure ready and had the supplies to cook 4 course italian dinner and she forgave me heh heh heh
  8. quote:As for the gaming looking great; so much for them saying they reduced the price because of its quality. Bastards. -Supreme Cmdr February 05, 2004 10:11 Calling them Bastards is by far an understatement. I pre-ordered and payed 49.95 and in my oppinion is a great price for this type of game. I own all 4 titles now (if you include the gold edition of BCM) and even BC3k is worth more than 19.95. I am studying C++ and am just begining to understand how hard it is to write a game that is only a couple thousand lines of code I can't immagine how many lines of code a game of this epic perportion is (feel free to indulge my curiosity though). Then on top of that Dreamcatcher is probably screwing you as far as the "Publishers justification for taking 80%+ of the profits". I'm not a profesional game programer yet but I already hate publishers. ARGH By the way I am 100% satisfied with the game so far it runs FAR smoother than previous titles and ive only had one bug so far myself relating to crashing my cc every time I land on planet but i made a post on that in the tech forum. Mr. Smart I say Job well done keep it comming
  9. I totaly agree with you about this game being a kick ass game. I even used my tax return to do some serious upgrades to my pc so the game would run smoothly. I read somewhere that dreamcatcher cut the price on the product for some obsurd reason. It's B.S. in my oppinion for one NO game in the history of the computer has ever done what this game has achieved. If you read the credits the Dev. team is a very small team compared to other dev teams like blizzard or black isle so one thing is evident that these people have spent alot of time and hard work to compleate something of this perpotion. This is by far a game worth $49.95 or more. However, I dissagree with charging for patches. Patches are for fixing bugs, problems in code for every program ever known because after hundreds of thousands of lines of code there is bound to be mistakes. People pay money for a product that works. When it doesnt people go online for the patch to fix the problem. I am a proffesional musician. To attend a classical concert is quite expensive not to mention that the audience rarely shows up in anything less than tuxes and formal dresses. If I were playing the solo part for a concerto and only played 75% of the music without error it would sound pathetic. Then for me to stand up and say im only getting 50 bucks for this gig for an extra buck from everyone in the audience to hear the other 25% played correctly, I would end up covered in rotten vegatables thrown by a very pissed off audience.
  10. Fist off, I own all the 3000AD games but just registered and I'd like to say "HI". Now, to the problem. Not sure if this is a bug or human error. I've tried to enter various planet atmospheres and after it displays that cool animation of the craft breaking through the stratosphere with all the flams and stuff as soon as it cuts to the planet surface I'm crashed and ship is damaged big time before even given a chance to take control. I followed procedures IAW the manual (target planet, hit shift+9 then yes to enter planet). Any ideas? Thanks for any help
