  1. Echo you might not agree with me, after all I am just an angry angst ridden Republican... but that was a fine message you posted. Never think yourself smaller than any of these guys or for that matter me. You have a vote just as I have a vote so regardless of what we think we are all equals in that regard. You vote your conscience and you do it with pride just as I myself am. The economy and the state of things in general is askew to the nth degree. You are right I have watched housing prices triple in four years and it is not because Bush is a great President it is because the divide between those that can and those that have is expanding. I don't mind getting a fair price for my home but even I know that it is not worth what the market is dictating and I have to wonder how ANYBODY in this great nation is going to afford the American dream anymore when WAGES are falling and prices are rising. Fear a terrorist or fear an inability to be a part of the American dream. I have news for you BASTARDS, when the American dream is UNATTAINABLE the GOD DAMNED TERRORISTS HAVE ALREADY WON... and you don't have to be wearing a towel on your head to have made this the state of things in this nation. Imbeciles. Oh and JUST SO WE ARE CLEAR ON WHAT MY BACKGROUND IS... I am a mortgage broker. Low interest rates have artificially raised the asking prices of houses. How? Well ok, if you can get a mortgage for $200,000 at 5% and the usual state of things is 7.250% sellers can ask a higher price. Meanwhile you have sellers realizing that rates are down selling their homes to finance NEW HOMES that are likewise over priced. See the vicious circle? So you have an economy that has been GRACIOUSLY and thankfully for me been bolstered by an historically low interest rate making it so that buyers can afford higher property prices. What that is doing is artificially driving up values on homes being sold. Get it? Got it? Good. Meanwhile the precedent will have been set and it will be a hell of a lot more difficult to allow the economy to recooperate because homes generally speaking DO NOT LOSE ESTABLISH VALUES. So in essence you're going to have an up and coming generation of Americans that WILL NOT be able to afford the American Dream unless this PHONY wealth brought on by low interest rates is allowed to continue. So Greenspan is now being tasked with choosing his poison. Either we continue to keep interest rates low (causing the dollar to continue to plummet abroad and inflation to rise) or we increase interest rates and stabilize the dollar while lowering interest rates and risk shutting down this PHONY economy. Are ya with me? HUH?! How about you Jaguar? *snickers* Peace Takvah [ 08-09-2004, 07:34 PM: Message edited by: Takvah ]

  3. Collateral Soundtrack This is a very varied collection of music that they put in this movie. I didn't buy this soundtrack although I might. I just happen to dig Techno now and then and Paul Oakenfold is like "the man" for that genre of music. As for the ending, I guess it had to go down that way. I don't think we ever know what Vincent's state is, we assume it. Remember the train is dark and then when the lights come on Vincent drops the clip and sits down. We then see the wound and they have that brief conversation about the guy on the MTA train that they'd discussed in the cab. There are holes in this movie, such as why the hell NONE of these people that are on the hitlist are in the witness protection program. That was the one thing that I kept going back to about the movie. Ofcourse if all of those people were in the program there is NO WAY he could have done the jobs in one night's time. For the purposes of a good movie you have to simply suspend reasoning a bit. That's why as the train pulled off I chose to believe even if it isn't likely, that Vincent had an epiphany and let Max and Annie go and that he wasn't mortally wounded. I know it's stupid but I enjoyed the Vincent character and so it made me feel better anyway. As for it being less formulaic if we know he got away... hell no... they'd say that it was the worst of Hollywood and totally by the book for cash in sequel status. I can live with the end because I know they were damned if they did and they were damned if they didn't... I just felt like the horror movie kind of chase ending was a bit contrived. Peace
  4. The issue is flip flopping right? I just want to be clear on that. So my response is two fold. First I must say that I think that Kerry's manipulation of his own words is disgraceful and shows a weak will. People do change their minds. I have changed mine and can admit that I made a horrible mistake in voting G.W. Bush into office having MUCH MORE TO DO WITH IT, (being I voted in Florida) than MOST OF YOU HERE. Other than Floridians only the Supreme Court had more to do with that, it obviously wasn;t the popular concensus of THE PEOPLE. However, I digress... flip flopping... flip flopping... well some might equate that with lying. Hmmm... where have I heard lies before, oh yeah... the Iraq WMDs, Condi Rice saying they never had any inclination that planes could be used as weapons and a littany of other propagandist points made by this Administration to bolster war. None of which have been proved. Now, because we're talking about flip flopping I would like to highlight some hypocrisy I am seeing with you Republicans here. I mean you act as if G. W. Bush is some kind of stalwart that has never flip flopped. Contrary to your asserted assumption here are some Bush flip flops. 1. Opposed the 9/11 commission. Now acts as if it was all his idea. 2. Opposed the creation of the Office of Homeland Security. Funny enough credits it as a masterpiece of his administration's defense of America from terror threat. 3. Opposed making gay marriage a matter for the Federal government (go back to the debates). Proclaimed that it was a matter for the states to decide. Now he supports a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO BAN IT. 4. Said that American Troops should not be used for the purposes of nation building. Now it is the ONLY REASON we went to Iraq... TO FREE THOSE POOR PEOPLE (because the stack of lies has fallen and they had to fall back to this position). 5. Cheney said as a spokesman of this Administration that Saddam had links to the 9/11 attacks. Has now said, HE NEVER SAID THAT. Uhrmmm right. 6. Negotiation with North Korea was a failure of the Clinton Administration. Whoops, he's negotiated with North Korea and continues to, currently offering them incentives to disarm. 7. Said that he would consider any nation that proliferated WMDs an enemy. Miraculously, there was little condemnation of Pakistan for the WIDESPREAD NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION caused by one of their scientists (name escapes me I'm working off of memory). 8. Said he would not raid the SS trust fund. Immediately raided it. I could go on and on and likely find another 50 or 60 instances of Bush FLIP FLOPPING or selling a wholesale bill of HORSESH*T goods to the American people. This is what being a politician is. You make this like it is the sole domain of the Democrats and Kerry. You should all be ashamed or make up hats for yourselves that say "NAIVE" so that we can see you when you're coming. Just absolutely unbelievable. ALL politicians are LIARS. This is why I could not be a politician. However, G.W. Bush has made some moves during his tenure that show an obvious lack of consideration for Americans while aiding corporations. We could have Iraqis throwing flowers at our feet if we weren't so busy lining our own corporate pockets. $80-$120K for some TRUCK DRIVER to haul crap from point A to point B in Iraq. PUT IRAQIS BEHIND THE WHEELS OF THOSE TRUCKS and maybe they'll see a stake in NOT blowing it up and losing their job (which they could be paid MUCH MUCH less to do than some redneck from here). We wouldn't have huge bills charged to all of us TAXPAYERS for the housing, feeding and maintenance of these overpaid WORKERS etc etc. YOU PEOPLE ***** ABOUT WELFARE and then you pay a truck driver these insane amounts of money on the GOVERNMENT'S DIME. ASHAMED, every single one of you free spending Republicans should be wondering who's LIBERAL around here.

  6. Ah, yes, Heat... one of the all time great heist flicks. I drove up to Central Florida this weekend listening to Ready Steady Go which is the Paul Oakenfold techno song from the "club" scene. I dare you not to speed to that song. *snickers* I thought that scene was great by the way... talk about professionally possessed! Was anything going to stop Vincent? Heheh... that rocked. Peace
  7. Alright, this movie is just cool. The way it is shot is gritty and in your face, very Michael Mann. Before you're three minutes into the movie you can see the fingerprints of his style all over this film. The acting is very good, in my opinion. I am not a big Jamie Foxx fan, I thought this might be a huge mistake casting him in this very serious role but the guy comes through. I was very impressed with him and there are some "comedic" moments in the movie where his skills in that area do come in handy. It isn't anything yuck, yuck it is moreso that uneasy laughter that comes with irony. Tom Cruise is one of these guys that I can take or leave. Luckily, he has been choosing some choice roles in the past couple of years and this is another good one. Vincent is a guy that none of us wants to be and then maybe all of us want to be. You really have to see the movie to understand what I am saying; yes the guy is a cold blooded murderer but he's doing things his way and respects it when people do it theirs. This feeling makes the ending all the more rewarding. It is in the ending however, that the movie becomes a bit weaker in my opinion. It offers mild thrills but a predictable outcome and that was sad considering how great the rest of the movie is. This is NOT an action movie. There are action sequences but they are intermittent with the majority of the flick being a conversation between two men in a cab. If you aren't interested in getting into the heads of characters this is not for you. However for those that appreciate good, introspective dialogue there is a lot of meat here. A cold blooded killer that considers it business and a man that has dreams but never really wants to attain them meet up and share their thoughts while engaged the business of working through a hit-list. How bad can that be? For those of you that loved HEAT there is a use of one of the cuts from that soundtrack in this film. See if you can determine where it is. Enjoy. 9/10

I guess you don't, you ignore them, or you pull out some oranges and change the subject.

  10. Oh yeah that was clearly it. ROFLMAO. A President should be clear and articulate, I mean his words drive a world. Now I know most of you guys that are pro Bush don't think the President does anything but I assure you it is quite the opposite. Conveniently, Bush has no say in anything and then when the conversation turns to Kerry he will bring the destruction of the world. YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. You limit Bush's liability but then you accentuate Kerry's if he is given power... it simply makes no sense if you are arguing from an HONEST platform.
  11. Stop! Street you are killing me man! I can't breathe, my side is in pain from laughing so hard. I guess that Jaguar's spook friends in the CIA and FBI must be running that Cheney tape through the "super-em-poser". I swear to god man, I have heard some desperate crap in my time from people looking to make themselves seem more important than they are but some of the guys here take the cake. Tell ya what Jaguar, do me a favor and deliver a message to your spook friends for me. "FIND THE TERRORIST NAMED OSAMA BIN LADEN AND KILL HIM!" Why don't you convey that for me. I think your CIA friends are probably covering their heads in tinfoil waiting for alien invasions aren't they... *snickers* ROFLMAO... oh my god man... Jaguar has more connections than Deep Throat!

  13. NO. You neglected the entire point of what I was saying. There are ways to limit costs where it concerns various social programs that YOU brought up. One of these is to make sure that kids that are not wanted are not BORN. However, you have Bush cradling zygotes to his chest and proclaiming them CHILDREN. The right wants every baby born but then when your taxes are raised to take care of these kids that WEREN'T WANTED you people scream. WELL, I pay my taxes and I take care of my kids, I WANTED THEM. Now you tell some inner city kid that is pregnant, YOU HAVE TO HAVE THAT BABY and then that kid can't support her baby and you say, "Why do I have to pay for the kid's meds because his mother was a crackhead!" Well gee, you people demanded she have that baby! You supported a President that wanted to outlaw abortion. Meanwhile stem cell research might eliminate a lot of disease that we are all forced to absorb the costs of treating in our insurance premiums etc and that's against god too. What I am saying is that it is HYPOCRITICAL. Get it! Got it! Good! Unfortunately you live in a society. Societies have costs associated with them for roads, infrastructure, defense, etc. I don't hear you *****ing about that. So what are we going to do, allow kids to die of starvation! You said and I quote, "my argument is based on I make the money therefore I should be able to save it for my kids not have it taken away by the government to support someone elses. The money I make should provide for MY kids, not my neighbors." Ok brilliant, do your kids attend a public school? Do they ride a bus to school? Should we just have the poor uneducated in this country? Should we just FORGET about the poor? Well the poor better have those babies and they better not abort them... BUT DAMNED IF I'M GOING TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEM. You are either very short sighted or you're just an idiot. I have no clue which but I hope it is the former rather than the latter. But I suppose because I realize that in order to have a society there are some costs that have to be absorbed by the people in the society I must be a COMMUNIST or a SOCIALIST, well I'm not the one saying have the babies now am I? I'm also not the one saying BABY FARMS for stem cells. Pure idiocy. I think personally we should have a flat tax, that isn't a very communist philosophy now is it? God help us all.
  14. Did anyone catch Bush yesterday as he was announcing the new military budget? He said that, "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we," Bush said on Thursday. What did he just say?! You have got to watch the determination on Bush's face there is a link to the video on the right. This is the best freudian slip EVER. OH MY GOD THIS GUY IS A MORON! I haven't seen it widely reported either, I had to be watching Democracy Now! to hear it. Some media bias. This is found on Yahoo! UK lol. Oh and nice work George... ya CHIMP. God justice will be served if Kerry uses this in an ad campaign... NO TRUER WORDS HAVE EVER BEEN UTTERED BY THIS MAN. [ 08-06-2004, 09:20 AM: Message edited by: Takvah ]
  15. ROFLMAO... Uhrmmm.... IS THAT ALL HE RELEASED BUAHAHAH! Nice call Jaguar, looks like he's really refusing to release those records.
  16. The Constitution as drafted is long gone? Say what? Bush is too far LEFT? Say what? Yeah... after reading those comments it's pretty obvious who's nuts. I have to tell you the parroting of Limbaugh is ofcourse LAUGHABLE. Have another oxycontin Rush, you're a hero. Marta did her ten years and split, I wonder why *snickers*, that witch knew how to cash in and hell after living with that ass for ten years I guess she's owed.

  18. Uhrmmm Universal Combat good... online community not so good heheh. YES I COULD DO IT BETTER! There I said it heheh. I suggest you ignore Jaguar, he has one thing right, debt is good for the government but there is a level of debt that we need not exceed... we surely do not need to CREATE wars to spend the money... and we sure as hell don't need to enrich "certain" companies. There is where the hypothesis falls apart. WHO DO WE GET OURSELVES IN DEBT WITH? If you say Halliburton and Kellog Brown and Root I say unabashedly BULLSHIT. Thanks Tak

  20. Yeah Jamotto was right the link is for the ad. However, Derek I would just like you to know that your game Universal Combat was worth the $39.99 price you initially negotiated. I know that this is a sore subject but given the fact that I have bought a videocard that included a $39.99 game bundled (Far Cry) and then spent $54.99 on Doom 3 your game to me at least, was worth the additional price points. I know I might be the minority but your game never ceases to amaze with the amount of different options available to the commander. For that there needs to be ample consideration made. Doom 3 is $54.99 with one way to finish a mission... your game in Free Roam at least, gives me an endless array of possibilities. You should be rewarded. Yeah, yeah you can say I am blowing smoke up the SC's ass but let me tell you, there is a premium that should be paid for games that give you OPTIONS. Hats off SC, I just spent $54.99 on a game that gives you none and I don't feel cheated. BUT I truly did feel as if you were cheated given the myriad of options that YOUR game provides. I hope that you will self publish "Hold the Line" and that I will be given an opportunity to pay you what it is worth... at my last calculation at least $54.99. Bandus and I have also discussed that we intend to attend you next after party and come armed with spit balls... remember we're LOCALS *snickers* Love ya... ya bastard. Takvah Bandus you grab his arms this guy looks ready to throw!
  21. This is a fair review and accurate given that I am currently playing the game and have the same gripes. Admittedly I am playing this game slowly, for one after spending $54.99 I don't really want to finish it quickly, secondly I am playing through Far Cry at the same time and lastly and maybe mostly Doom 3 can stress me out! What I did find funny was that this game warranted a three page review. I could have summed this review up in three paragraphs. You would think this guy had been playing a game with some meat, like say, oh I dunno... Universal Combat. Unfortunately that's the game they sum up in three paragraphs. *shrugs* For a scare and a good time doing things you've done for ten years with shooters Doom3 is great. It is a vision to behold (even if creepy as all hell) but they didn't reinvent the wheel. They just put some pimpin rims on that old El Dorado known as Doom and threw a DVD player in the back seat. Still a smooth as glass ride but none of the newer bells and whistles. Peace
