  1. quote:Planet surfaces are either bare or dotted with redundant flora and fauna. From an orbital view, planets are featureless, solid color spheres. No clouds, no oceans, no continents. This level of quality may have passed for satisfactory a few years ago, but modern gamers expect more.Looks like someone didn't bother patching first.

  3. Got a few myself. People from the DC Board *shivers* might recognize these: The view from Mars Resniiiiiiiiiiiiig! That's all I've got so far that's not in space. I'll get more eveentually, I'm sure.

  5. quote:Originally posted by Reno: First off, Rob, you need to go and stick your system specs in your sig. People here get vewy vewy trigger happy when people dont do that. There's a thread around here somewheres that tells you how...but I just woke up, and the coffee is still coffee'ing, so I cant remember where it is Better? @Mike Thanks

  8. For the moving around problem: If you go into TACOPS (alt+s) you can set a waypoint for the CC or the shuttle while you're still in space. The great thing is that you can specifically target areas of interest on the planet by clicking on it in TACOPS and clicking on "observe". Then a screen will pop up that shows the various zones, who controls areas, etc... If you put a waypoint on or near one of the colored rectangles on the map that should put you close to at least one area of interest. Then it's just a matter of telling the CC to "Resume Waypoints" and putting it on autopilot. It'll probably still take a few minutes to reach the planet's atmosphere, but if you set the waypoint, it should enter the atmosphere mear that waypoint, which means a lot less flying through barren areas. So, once that's done you just sit back and wait for your CC or shuttle to enter the atmosphere, then jump back to the controls because it's taken off auto pilot after that and you could crash. On the subject of money: You can salvage cargo pods from destroyed ships, mine on planets/moons/etc... and sell whatever cargo/minerals you acquire by docking with a friendly or neutral station and selecting the TRADECOM computer once you're docked. Then you can just sell your stuff and buy cargo/minerals/etc... for yourself. Hope that helps.
  9. I just love the irony of banning Fahrenheit 451.
  10. I originally chose Dangermouse 'cause, c'mon, it's Dangermouse! Then I switched it to Gir because Gir rocks.
  11. I thought the penalty was almost good enough. Personally I think he should be kicked out of the league. I mean, yeah it was an accident to hurt him that badly, but he still intentionally attacked him like that. And he could've killed the guy easily.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: I prefer to dive right into the Commander ROAM scenario. Trial by fire, the only way to learn. Yeah, that goes for me, too. I've messed around with assaulting Insergent bases on the ground, mining on various planets/moons and if some hostiles would actually try and come into the solar system I'd take them out, too. My only hang up at the moment is rescources. My Super Carrier is a bit of a gass-guzzler so I've been mining to keep large quantities of Radine and Plutonium on hand, but it just tears through it all so fast. Any suggestions on keeping this thing fed? Or possibly a better ship that still kicks a lot of boo-tay but doesn't have the gas mileage of a European sports car/SUV?
  13. My first impression wasn't really a very positive one... But something about UC really got to me, so I kept at it. Now I love UC
