I read the manual front to back, and the appendix top to bottom. I had nothing to do better at work one day.
I made sure I said system engineer, and not chief engineer. It's the system engineers that do the actual fixing right?
Anyway, I get it about the don't fix it if it's green. I was being obsessive about it, but not fixing it when it's 99% makes sence. Here is a more specific example of a system not green.
My FC-4 (Zentar) Main Life support is at 78% now. This seeming like an important system I want to fix it right? being as it's in yellow condition, I would hate to lose my 80+ AI pilot do to some type of malfunction in the future.
Through the logistix computer I assign 1 system engineer to fix it. if I assign 1 system engineer, it should take several minutes or maybe even an hour or so. So im looking at the button to click repair. under is it says, "FC Repair Kit Need=0 Have=50
Ships condition is Green. It's 4/12/3030 08:59
I click One System engineer to do the repairs.
He will commence at 09:02
He will complete at 09:02
OPR status is 78%
Completed 0%
Assigned 1
Standby 19
So would I need parts that arent listed then to fix this system?
Haha on a side note, I tried to actually figure out what minerals I shouldn't be putting together, by actually doing it. (edit) using a different commander.
And i'm not entirely sure how much moding is going on, but I don't, I think the game is fine as is. I didn't really think this was a problem until SC said repairs are working and always have been. I just figured it was natural decay of a system, as in, you can only fix the thing so many times.
