quote:They've made some of the most notoriously STUPID decisions in the entire history of buisness. Decisions like cancelling a near-complete Baldur's Gate 3 to renew their console Baldur's Gate licence instead the PC license. Decisions like deciding to focus on development of Fallout Brotherhood of Steel instead of Fallout 3. No company has operated without some form of a stupid decision. Indeed, their decision to abondon the Startrek game Vulcan's Fury miffed me somewhat. It would have contained the actors real voices and their facial expressions no game has gone this far to date for the Startrek world. Interplay to me was a risk taker. With all risks sometimes you get burned, sometimes you don't. This is something that seems to be missing from publisher houses these days. When their risks payedoff we got games that pushed the gaming industry forward with new ideas for example: Out of This World, Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising and Messiah. Their Motto described them best I think "for gamers, by gamers."

Politcal Debate: Could 9/11 been prevented?
jamotto replied to Terran Marine's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
It was a joke Jaguar! Ha ha Lighten up a little. I really wouldn't expect the important stuff to be on the outside. They are not that dumb, Yet. -
Maybe we need a tribute to Interplay, perhaps by listing all the great games we have played that was published by Interplay. Yes/No?

Have they not been in financial trouble since the early to mid nineties. What a shame, some of the better games came out of Interplay.

Edit: Stephen Russell is also back reprising his role as Garrett, so that's a bonus for a die-hard fan like me *grin* Looks good now I just need to get Thief 1 and 3.

ok, I know this is really not an important thing but here goes. When in fp mode in space or on the ground if you reload your gun using the "r" key if you hit the "r" key again it will decrement the clip count even though you have not used a single round. Thank you for your time.

Yea and I hope they have lot's of money. The food bills, college and car insurance for when they can drive. Oy, gives me a headache already and theirs many more you could add.

As for sound cards you might look at the soundcards made by Hercules or Turtle Beach as mentioned above.

Have you tried newegg? (www.newegg.com) shopped there several times when I was building two computers over the last couple of months. For the speakers if you have the money. ProMedia Ultra 5.1 (http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=712)

On the issue of being able to raise the shields w/o loosing the object being towed during a Hyper Jump. I went back and started a new game and was able to reproduce it with the following ships. AESTROM, BATTLECRUISER MK2, NIGHTSTAR, WARMONGER, STARCRUISER, SHUTTLE MK1(towing a BATTLECRUISER MK3). That is all I could test in the time I had available. I ran all my tests from the launch base GalcomHQ jumping to the moon jump gate.

I thought they had gotten that working?

quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: In the case of #1, if the jump target is outside the HJ range, nothing will happen. Thats normal. And if you don't wait for the ship to orient itself, it won't jump. In the case of #2, dunno, will look into it later today. In the case of #3, it works as designed. btw, you have the ability to edit your messages, so next time you have something to add, edit your original message instead of creating a new one. EDIT: I found (and fixed) a problem with the delay (its too long) in doing a hyperjump when towing an object. For issue #3 I was going to post it in its own thread as it does not have anything to do with the tractor beam, However point taken. I am going to create a new game in case this is just a corrupt one and see if I can reproduce the issue's later today. Thank you for your time.
