  1. It's Hasenau's long laughs; they are each a single word and won't wrap. He, or somebody, just needs to break them up. ------------------ Cmdr Pherrett GCV-STRATOS [This message has been edited by Lynx Pherrett (edited 05-30-99).]
  2. No offense imagined. I think we're all used to getting short answers around here on occasion. My 2 millicreds on style -- the style you choose for later narratives should depend upon whose POV you are telling the story from. Unless Blades undergoes a complete psych overhaul somewhere along the line, this is his first-person narrative style and is consistent with the personality you've given him. After he gets the Tsunami, a later story could be told as a series of straightforward letters from his CO to GALCOMHQ requesting transfer and/or refering charges for Blades courts martial. (Blades definitely needs a Frank Burns type of CO after he gets his ship.) BTW, speaking of consistency...Did that bump on the noggin dispel your prior naivete? (Compare your insight to the Commandant's nocturnal activities to your gut reaction to your cellmate.) [Feel free to ignore me. I probably shouldn't even be poking my nose in here, considering that it's unlikely I'll actually contribute on the RP side.] ------------------ Cmdr Pherrett GCV-STRATOS [This message has been edited by Lynx Pherrett (edited 05-23-99).]
  3. Twas a compliment and, I guess, an inside joke. The style reminds me of Keith Laumer with a bit of Ron Goulart, two writers whose hilariously satirical sci-fi preceded Douglas Adams by a generation. Jame Retief, Envoy-at-Large for the CDT in the 27th Century, is Laumer's most well known character. I suspect you'd enjoy the series. But, rather than take up anymore space in this thread, I'll just point you to a site I found while looking for the spelling of the name: http://hometown.aol.com/psychoshop/retief.htm ------------------ Cmdr Pherrett GCV-STRATOS
  4. Yeah, it is good, keep it up. Let me guess, though, you're the great-great-great-great-grand-nephew of Retief of the Corps Diplomatique Terrestienne.
