Bought my laptop only last September brand new. Tried also to boot in safe mode and while running through loading up the drivers, stopped at agp440.sys and would freeze there. Oh Well, its unfortunate because I love the game and the concept and was just getting used to the features and was looking forward to battling online with thousands of other players...(did anyone else come across anybody else in the vast universe?) Maybe I didn't find the most popular server...May try the game again when it is back from the Toshiba techies.

I have since read that laptops may not support the game but thought I should mention this "fatal" problem I had. I am running a Toshiba 5200 series laptop with 2.2GHz, 512ram, GForceFX5600, P4, Windows XP Pro. The other night downloaded the 4th patch from the "3000AD" website where you log in with your serial number. I was playing the first level of the campaign when suddenly, my laptop crashed and received a windows stop message "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" (Input/Output driver structure damage according to Microsoft). Tried to reboot and it from then on kept automatically trying to reboot. So I had no Alternative under the advise of the techies where I bought the laptop to restore my system. I did so using my recovery disks and now it won't boot at all. I get a "Disk Read Error". So whether it is the game patch's fault I do not know but thought it would be worth telling you. So for those laptop players...beware!
