  1. I got 2 questions - one is related to main campaign and the other - to 3000AD new product announcement. 1. Still about main campaign, many people enjoyed it, I kinda too, but first attempt ended for me pretty quick with congratulations note. I am going to go through main campaign again and am curious about next things: a) is there any hidden fee... oh excuse me, rl habbit - time limit for this main campaign (not roam)? can I prepare myself for this mission, as follows - create stronger fleet, build more ships, mine resources, in a nutshell prepare myself to make a "trip" through all systems easier which supposed to help keep all 4 delegates safe? c) after I compleate main campaign is there a reason to continue the game which will switch to roam mode automatically? If there is, name it please? Meaning - since i will have pretty much of exp, high commander rank, medals, shields and stuff after compleation is there a point to conitnue this main scenario or I should switch to roam campaigns since this main big one is done? And as an addition to point B, can I during this main campaign do anything else possible - mine, build ships, capture stations and so on OR I should follow the orders and rush directly to LV-103 to get there in time? 2. Quoting following: "Taking place in a much smaller world (two space regions and four planets to be exact)..." "...featuring 64 player multiplayer deathmatch and base capture game modes. The single player game features a single campaign between the Terran military player and insurgent counterparts with 3000ADÔÇÖs advanced AI engines providing cutting edge tactical engagements..." Does it mean that UCE2E will be more multiplayer oriented game then single player version? For sure this short version of UC with advanced graphics and features will add a lot of fun for BC series fans, but does it mean that those 2 space regions and few planets will be some kind of preparation for a massive multiplayer worlds? In any way no matter how it is we still have UC which is fan and very interesting. And I bet UCE2E will kick mayor ass . UC - UC - UC -
  2. Thanks, I really didn't know about this. This whole thing is very complicated, even if I like complicated games it still takes time to learn everything... Now I know where to find UC bible .
  3. Ouch... Well prolly I missed something again... . I can't read, I have searchophobia. As soon as I start to search forums I am getting cold, start shivering and curse... please help .
  4. What is the latest 2.00.11 patch about, can we have some release notes? Thanks.
  5. One more question (I didn't find any notes through search about this in other forums) - my officers keep telling me - "There's something out there". What is it? Should I assign some carriers to patrol the region? Or what that message means?
  6. Yes, my point is that those bad guys shouldn't be able to steal my shuttles during the HJ... since systems are disabled. But I've assigned more marines to search, maybe they will get read of the bandits quicker.
  7. Oh thanks for this link, I am going through that thread now. I have one note to make though. When I was moving through space I got some unwanted visitors who stole 2 of my shuttles. The problem is that one of the shuttles was stolen during HJ. I tried once to launch FC or SC during the jump and I couldn't. But those bad guys can steal my shuttle during the HJ, it's not fair .
  8. hehe, caught in action...
  9. SC you stated in post earlier that depending on how many of them survives you get rewards and if all 4 destroyed scenario automatically ends. So scenario ended but I didn't get any reward. Plus I received Congratulation note and supposedly it doesn't mean that they were destroyed. But I didn't get rewards, what those rewards are anyway? I mean if there would be following missions after successful escort then probably those rewards could be used, but if there is only one mission in main campaign what rewards are we talking about here? Thanks again.
  10. So what happens after this mission is finished? Will another mission open up? Or this one is still not fixed? Something weird happened to me, I got to the place where those ships I was supposed to escort were then they greeted me, joined and I think they have left the region without me because I was running low on fuel... Well, after some time (I think those ships went by themselves) I have received a note - Congratulations, you have completed the mission, now you can retire from your active duty... And the game end and went back to the main menu screen. SC can you please explain what happened, so did I compete the mission or it was just a glitch? Thanks.
  11. Thank you Supreme! Well, maybe it's too many compliments but you are a supreme... hehehe... IMHO you've done huge job with all the mathematical process modeling, phisics and stuff, I havent actually experienced that kind of "effects" in any other game before. Maybe that's why UC is so cool. Well for sure it makes it one of a kind also because so many things there is possible to do , as well upcoming projects, patches will take top places on the game market and amongst thousands of your fans. My computer config is: P4 2.6Mghz 800FSB (20% overclocked so actually it's 3.1 and runs great) 1GB DDR400 PC3200 RAM 120GB WD 7200RPM with 8MB cash HDD ATI Radeon 9800XT with 256MB texture memory. Everything updated with latest drivers. As you see there is nothing that could slow the game down but I can understand that there is lots of stuff to load after you switch to surface operations. I'll try to disable grass, trees, even meshes and see how it will run after. BTW UC:E2E, is there any information available on when it's gonna be out or the demo? Or maybe I should check related forum? I should take a look probably.
  12. Dear SC, is there gonna be a patch for the game that will upgrade existing pixel and vortex shaders 1.1 to next generation 2.0 shaders? Or it's too complex and requires recoding of the whole game? Sorry I am not familiar with how bad shaders are attached to the game code. But unfortunately I am one of a graphics freak and graphics play very important role for me in any game. That's one of the things that my fun factor is based on. Thank you
  13. Dear Supreme Cmdr! I won't complain or blame you, or express any of the negative feelings I got during 40 pages of manual - simply because I had none. Those 3 hours I "ate" 40 pages passed for me like one. All I want to say, for now, even if I have lightly touched "only" about 30% of what you can do in the game - I am already impressed. You know Derek, past few years I was looking for something that could completely draw my attention. I've tried Earth and beyond, EVE online, Hegemonia: Legions of Iron, X2 which I can't say I didn't like because graphics in X2 are tremendous. But I have one big BUT, so far I find your game Derek one of the most impressive and interesting games on the market even if graphics sometimes are pretty junky, forgive me for that. But as you said before sometimes you have to sacrifice something in advance to mathematically correct structure of the game. Game is impressive, all the options you have in the game let you feel that you really "live" in some real huge world. Not only fly ships, command the fleet but even engage enemies on the surface, in the air, on the sea... It's just a real piece of work you did. And even if some people make fun of you I'd say screw them, because there are so many jerks around they only like to complain and aquise you whatever you do. I am also glad there are tons of people who really likes UC, well I am one of them... I know that I will have some frustration times in the future but that's the part of each game because there is no perfect game. Only one thing I really miss in this game - some better graphics and smoothness. I believe and I know that you and your team still work on the game, making new patches, fixing bugs and finding more solutions to help people who just can't even imagine how complicated was to build the game and to present it for us. I've read that you have some plans and probably working on some new project that will be introduced in 2005 and will be a good surprise for all of us. I can assume that year 2005 will bring us next generation space ... well I wouldn't call it simulator, I would believe it's gonna be - space empire because I already can see how far your fantasy and imagination went in UC. I will be hoping that year 2005 will bring us something really terrific. Only one thing I have to ask, whatever it's gonna be please bring it with excellent graphics, because next year is the year of next generation graphics standarts, most powerfull video cards we've ever owned and so on. And maybe there is some information or clue we can get about that new project you guys work on? As well I'd love to try to fix something in my UC installation. Sometimes I experience "freezes". In space everything is smooth, but as soon as you get on the surface you get problems. I own high end computer with 9800XT video card which can push everything on highest resolutions with highest settings. But as soon as I try to run operations on the surface I start to have problems. Mostly it's connected with units on the ground. For example if I look at the base then turn around with my back towards the base, stay like that for a few seconds then turn back aroun computer "freezes" for a second like it would be loading units/base/whatever graphics and then runs smooth again. And it's not only on the surface. Single version og the game imho shouldn't act like that untill you run it in Multiplayer when many more units are involved and you have to deal with bandwith. So I was wondering is there a way to correct this problem. I wouldn't want to decrease quality of picture by turning down graphics options in the game, neither I want to play on lower resolution than 1024x768. I wanna play actually on 1280x1024 with AAs and AFs on, only then graphics look pretty berable and cool. So what I wanted to ask how can I decrease this "freezing" effect or get completely rid of it? Are there any settings that actually make the game act like that? Thanks Supreme Cmdr, for nice job on the game and help. Regards Andrew.
