Well no Joy hehehe it let me dock one FC then when the second docked it's CTD. Thanks for the try I really appreciate it but I'm done. I got my $20 worth of entertainment out of it. Greg

I have not tried to reproduce from a new game. the saved game was created with v2.00.12 I was using only 2 game save slots that is why i have 2 seperate game save spots at different intervals to which both exhibit the same issue. I will just swallow my pride and start over with a new Game, although I would greatly appreciate it if someone could fix my saved game files so i can enjoy that game if possible. For $20 USD I must admit this game really impresses me. I look forward to may hours and week and even years of playing satisfaction. AWESOME game been log time since i found a space sim that i really enjoyed and that was back in the 486 era lol (smiles). Wonder if anyone can guess that game title? i believe it was from a company that was absorbed by Electronice Artists but cannot confirm. Frankly i cant remember the title myself hahahahaha. Thanks all hope to hear more good news soon.

Pugwash, I have a clean install of UC and Placed the patch uc200_patch in the UC directory where the uc.exe resides and ran it sucessfully then applied the patch uc2[1].00.12.01 in the same fashion from the same directory and it too was appiled successfully. The exact steps i did to reproduce the issue were simple i restored the save game file which loaded sucessfully then i gave the order for my FC to return to base as soon as the craft docks wow CDT. I will gladly send you the zipped file of saved games (2) both of which are roam profiles and you can see for yourself. I am not a game programmer just a PC system builder. I bought the game and I like it it is a great game just can't figure out this issue. I welcome anyone (designer, betatester, enthusiast, whoever) to send me an e-mail to [email protected] and i will reply with the attached zip file. I'm not trying to offend anyone or challenge anyone's expertise, I simply would like someone to provide a solution to the issue. I am willing to provide all information i have. the files will simply prove my point that the issue is re-creatable. since I did test the game save file onseveral differently configured systems I can conclude it is a game issue or a saved game issue and not a PC system issue since it happened on all the systems I tested it on.

I have DX 9c it's just not one of their choices to select for display so I did the latest one they have avilable which is 9B. all patches installed properly. if anyone wants my zip file of the saved game to see for themselves it is reproducable on every system i have tried it on. I own a computer store and have many systems at my disposal to test on so now that the peoblem has been isolated to the saved game files i am sure it is not with the system as to the cause. I have done all you have suggested and this machine was built for one purpose --- to enjoy UC!! Look at the stats of this system the system is in tip-top shape and upto date driver wise and bios wise. I just don't want to have to start over again. Loosing weeks of play time isn't worth it if it continues to fail to save the game properly.

would love some help. did not mean to be offensive just really affraid i will be another victim by asking for help. I read tons of posts by SC and they really are mean. I'm a passive person i just want to play this guys game and have fun. I don't want him comming down on me like a ton of bricks. this is the only game i have ever played that the save game feature was flawed, but then again i have only played a few PC games altogether.

Gosh I sure hope that is not the case as I use the Quit and save periodically cause the forums stated the QS option is not suppported. Sure sounds like thisgame can use some advanced coding and re-engineering. It's a great game concept but by the looks of all the issues it is having seems it would be a better seller if the programmers could resolve some of the common issues in the coding instead of bashing everyone for asking for help. I reluctantto purchase another title cause of the extreme arrogance of "the supreme cmdr.". he is too full of homself and seems to get great pleasure from acting like "God" since he designed the game. He concieved a great idea I give him that but "you catch more bugs with sugar than vinegar".

Dunno where to find information on how to solve CTA anomolies as I have tried to do different things but no matter what I do when my intercepters or shuttles dock game CRASHES to desktop. I have restarted numerous times from saved game and each time it happens like clockwork. Very nice game but seems to be very unstable. please reply with fix if one exists.
