Dear SC: I wish I knew what the problem is. Is there any chance of your forwarding a copy of my System Info to Macrovision? I have tried to contact them, but they have not answered my e-mails. I guess that is because I am not a software developer, which is understandable. They might accept it from you. Best wishes Tony

Found the problem. I am using a Saitek x-45 HOTAS. It has 3 modes. Apparently mode 1 does not get along with UC. When I switched to mode 2 the flickering stopped. The only movement on the screen is a diamond shaped object which moves back and forth. It looks like it is supposed to do this. I am just now starting to familarize myself with UC, so I am not sure. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me if this is correct. Now, if I could only solve the Nero problem! Thanks to all for their help, and best wishes for the holiday season. Tony

Thanks for the reply. I did as you suggested. The new version is from 11/12/04. The new version number is on my system profile. The flickering still exists as before. It's strange, the the letters TAC above the word scan does not flicker, but the word scan does. The out of ship view is perfect. Your graphics are outstanding. I have never seen anything like it! Thanks to all for their assistance in getting UC up and running. There seems to be a lot of screen flicker. Not everything, just certain items. For example, the red circle in the center of the screen, the word scan to the left of center, the letters STS to the right of center, and just below STS, there are several words that change rapidly, but I can't make them out. Again, I thank you for your help. When I click on ImageDrive in the Nero folder on the start menu, I get a message telling me it is disableed, would I like to enable it. I looks like it is already disabled, and I still have the same problem. I even enabled it, and then disabled it, but it did not help. But, when I completely remove Nero software, the game starts. I wish I could be more helpful, and less of a pest, but I really don't know what else to do. If I have to uninstall Nero, I will. I don't use that program much anyway. I can always reinstall it as needed. Thanks again for the help Tony

Thank you so very much for answering. I appreciate your taking the time to help. I tried one other thing, I uninstalled Nero Ultra 6, even though there was no evidence of it running. That worked, and the game started. I reinstalled Nero, and the same problem cropped up. Is there anything I can do so that both programs can co-exist on my computer? Hi: I need assistance getting UC to run. I have followed all of the suggestions on this thread. I also sent a nfo file of my system, and tech support's reply was that it was of no value to them, even though this is what the instructions said to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tony
