  1. To place it in other words, i think every player, as well every soldier needs to know an answer to the question "Why am I doing this?". If not, even the most beautifull game can fall short of a grand adventure Either way I wish the best of luck to you. I hope you can reach the vision you embraced for this game When that happens, that will be something to make history.
  2. First, im not that new here I also played the former BC3000AD (actually a friend of mine even managed to get a grip on an original copy. In this country thats a feat). BC Millenium could and now Universal Combat can be spoted easily in shelfs though. For starters im gratefull for the release of BCM to the public I have been playing it and found it, both to my pleasure and disapointment to have been build on the foundations of the former title - throughly. And from what i see from the UC manual, the trend still goes on. I want to love this game. I really do. But it just lacks some little things, tiny as it may seem, that give the universe... depth. They arent that hard to achieve as im not thinking about great things, just ways to polish the environment a bit. First and foremost, the manual lacks alot in history Its nice to see so many battlecruisers to choose from and even a blind man can look into the MK's history. But what about the others? How came them to be in the earthling shipyards given their alienistic appearance. Who designed them? Who favors them? In translation: each ship needs a small description to give them meaning and purpose. Thats something vital to be included in the appendix. Ah, the appendix. Isnt it possible to place all that information in game? Like another small link next to the mission data serving as the ships databanks or library, perhaps XCOM-style? Its quite annoying having to alt-tab to access stats and backgrounds that should be found in every starships computer The same goes for Earthcom, Galcom, etc. Why should we have to visit the sites to see some basic background on them? Damn, Ill even volunteer to fill these voids creatively if that helps to improve the game a bit. Theres alot of little tiny things that could be improved in a matter of weeks. A simple script for NPC ship communication dialogs (ever played good old star control 2? How hard can it be to place a couple of lines, along with the race picture?). I also have an issue in the way things respawn. No, I have no qualms in how things get to be rebuilt, but shouldnt we have a say over it? For instance, to capture a starbase we only need to cut the supplies leading to it. Couldnt we do the same by intercepting the explorer, and then colonists that would be sent out to rebuilt things, efectively delaying such recovery and bringing out an inevitable reaction from the enemy? *wich would persue military engagements in the area more agressively* I have alot more ideas, but ill spare you from them, in the hopes each game becomes better and better. Not just interface, unit and graphicaly-wise. But where it tends to make the most difference: depth, to feel its "alive".
