Congrats Blade ! ------------------ End of subspace transmission, Cmdr. Ataryan, live from the Orion vessle Aurora ICQ# 8332637 - http://surf.to/twobombs

/RP With a blaze of sparks the main thrusters ignited, lifting the heavy body of GCV Aurora-II from the magnetic pull of the planets gravity. Inside it's much-renewed bridge, the replaced HUD-view shew tiny specs and dots all over the length of it, some of the screens in the commanders' chair flashed with a speed bare to be followed by an untrained humain eye. With a dim, slight metalic voice caused by the increased influence of the advanced AI-module, Cmdr. Ataryan spoke to his crew. "Put the marines out of stasis, send the word that we're heading for the coordinates, as ordered by Galcom, and send these 4 pilots in their fighters, armed and ready" Steep, yet unnoticed by artificial gravity aboard the ship, the Aurora moved towards one of the dots on the screen. A tunnel formed, revealing the flight path to one of the many ports that would be needed to pass to get to coordinates that Galcom ordered. /RP ------------------ End of subspace transmission, Cmdr. Experiment: a new RPG like "The Apocalipse"
twobombs replied to twobombs's topic in Role Playing Discussions
While reading one of the 2 new threads here, an idea crossed my mind. We are using hyperjumps, right ? They allow us to travel from one part of space to the other, right ? According to Einstein we should into trouble with time somehow.... So while we where contemplating about at what date we sould exactly start, we could start it with a time/space incident/anomaly, it has several atvantages: 1) it can add vessles/crews that where gone, or assumed blown sky-high. 2) it adds another dimension (litarly) in this /RP thing, of course we should not take it too far, the SC might not want that 3) The time/space distortion could also make it possible for the hit-and-run team to be more effective. (i'm assuming now that the incident/anomaly was an artificially created) One guess who made it Any pro's, con's ? ------------------ End of subspace transmission, Cmdr. Experiment: a new RPG like "The Apocalipse"

Just got feedback from some of the play-by-email RP people, and they give me the idea that even they think of joining in on the Forum, since it's (quote) kind of the home of RP, (and another); it (the Forum) is filtered. We're interested in getting as much people involved in this new /RP thing, without stepping to much on (some big) toes I am very happy that I got this type of feedback, and I would like see a thread opened up that starts the /RP. one vote for Christmas - Eve 3003, like the episode of 'Space, above and beyond' ------------------ End of subspace transmission, Cmdr. Well, now that almost all fleet-commanders have reported themselves here, the RPG can start [grin] I suggest that we open a starting thread to /RP our way into this thing. Cyah everybody in /RP ------------------ End of subspace transmission, Cmdr. Ataryan, live from the Orion vessle Aurora ICQ# 8332637 -

So.... let's do it ! We can/will/might use the extra's that BC3000ad v.2.0 offers, since the demo is avaliable for every newbie or v1.0 user, right ? I'll contact my fleet commander and inform/ask him to start the campaign regarding Orion, and I hope/expect the same from other fleet members and/or commanders ------------------ End of subspace transmission, Cmdr. Ataryan, live from the Orion vessle Aurora -
Ok. Here's the deal: I think it's time for some large-scale RPG like we did last winter, i.e. a few months ago. I think ICQ will be the means for informal chatter about the course of the RPG. Second: Dr. Smart is chief, and all ranks top-down will apply to the RPG. Third: Humans need sleep, don't jump 5x within 24hrs. Fourth: have lots of fun ! I think that the starting point would be right where we stopped last time. Set some positions on the several (scattered) fleets, and give it go. Signing of from this sub-space transmission: Cmdr. <RP> <computer voice over> Hyperdrive activated -We're on our way to Neptune, check the status of the Jump-points, we don't want to run into some cloacked Gammulan mines. The blueish oval shade of Neptune was visible on the Navcomm-system. A quick switch to Callisto revealed some small Gammulan activity in orbit around Callisto, while some of the Top-Meeting BC's drew in closer. <crackle> <computer voice-over> ----------------------------- Encrypted Intelligence relay regarding surface activity on Callisto; Some of Galcom's Geo-stationary sensors in orbit of Neptune have indicated, while crossing the orbit with Callisto that the Gammulan's have filled a large construction with the new fuel. Their equipment is modified to take advantage of the enhaced functionality of the Synthetics in the facility. -EOL --------------------------------- <end of encrypted relay message> -Sir, it seems the Gammulans now already know how to use the fluid! That doesn't worry me, number two, we saw that one coming, I'm just curious exactly *what* type of weapon they're firing up! -Sir, it might be one of those new Robot-tech-stuff we've heard of! If it is so, number two, then we're looking at a firepower never witnessed in this part of space. <TwoBombs remembered the weapons-instruction he had on those new ground-based weaponary, the little info he has had, dealt on the fact that once it has been designed to mine whole asteroid-fields in just a fraction of the time it took with conventional mining-equipment. Since the Gammulans are as fierce as they are right now, TwoBombs hoped they didn't made any plans on making a big ining-field of Sol....> /RP [This message has been edited by twobombs (edited 12-17-98).]

<RP> Sir, whe're being hailed by the TCV Shogun, Cmdr. Ristar is asking a number of vessles to meet at the Neptune-moon Callisto. Some sort of undercover operation of Galcom has been overrun by Gammulan forces. -Set immediate course for Callisto, we're breaking out of the Wriath-formation, notify all surrounding BC's we're going in, give all our IC's and Shuttle the RTB-command. Engage! Cmdr. TwoBombs, GCV Aurora II Member of the Orion Fleet.

Oops i'm on T1 8), and indeed, I didn't read the last 2 posts of this thread... [doh, shoot me &:] [This message has been edited by twobombs (edited 12-16-98).]

<RP> -Sir, the NavComm computer indicates that the ICV-Valentine is the only BC at the Jump-point, only some shuttles of the GCV-Predicant are there. No trace of the GCV-Predicant itself! -Sir, we've got an incoming vid-channel from Annti, he's reporting the loss of of the GCV-Predicant to all ships! -Belay that order to set course to the jump-point, we're going into battle, launch all IC's and Shuttle's, set the shuttle's to evasive manuevers to divert Gammulan missiles aimed for the BC. And give orders for the IC's to defend this ship for incoming Gammulan Fighters, and join the attack-formation set up by Wrath fleet. <computer voice-over> -shieldstrength modified -PTA system activated -weaponssystem activated -Hold on to your seat, we're going in! Cmdr. TwoBombs CGV Aurora II Member of the Orion Fleet <RP>

<RP> As soon as the Navcomm computer got on-screen, the proud Orion Flagship of Cmdr. Junkkari was visible, on screen, full detail. I heard: 'He's coming to get us out !' People remembered the words from the Chief Orion Commander when they were put in their duty's on a renewed mission and ship; "With such a fine crew, I will come and help you out myself, you people are of great value to this Fleet!" Back on visual, all hands on the bridge could witness the GCV Predicant, with no shields, explosions but still with automatic PTA-fire. as soon as our PTA system picked up the bogeys that where in the neighbourhood, they started firing, with two BC's in the same area, it created a nice firework! -Sir! there are more ships here in this area, some of wich are Insurgents! -All hands to the battlestations! We can't go back into the flux-field, and sure we're not going to be defeated by those puny Insurgents! A double tap on the commander-console brought the vagrant armed and ready on-screen. Almost immediatly the charming voice of one of the comm-crew said: "Sir, I'm picking up an IFF signal from that target" , and the ICV-Valentine is about to put a tractorbeam-lock on the GVC-Predicant ! After she spoke the word Predicant, the space between the Valentine and the Predicant got a greenish colour, and two moment later both Vessles where gone, only leaving a white Hyperjump-mark. - Sir, the Navcomm computer indicates that both vessles are now at the jump gate to Earth. Set course for that same destination, we're not going to stay here, and we'll have regroup, and get an update on those Insurgent IFF's. -EOL <RP

Moving right along <RP> With a pounding like a thousand hammers on AuroraII's hull, the Orion BC came through the Flux-Gate, back in the SOL-system. <Computer voice-over> Cloacking device de-activated. Shield strength modified. Verifying current location. We're back, boys and gals, set immediate course for Earth, put PTA on 50%. And contact Cmr. Junkkari on the double ! To: Cmd. Junkkari, Orion Fleet Commander. Commander, I hope there are going to be more Orion vessles in the Sirius-area. My crew micht start to glow in the dark, when we need to encounter the whole Gammulan armada cloacked ! But then again, we will go and fullfill our duty, to defend our territory. I am awaiting commands, especially about the redezvouspoint that Cmdr.Tac gave to us. -- EOL TwoBombs

<RP> <crackle> Acknowledged Commander Junkkarri. Our current position in *within*, I repeat *within* the Flux-field ! When we first contacted, my Com-specialists heard some encrypted messages on the Gammulan sub-space range. He knew them for he has been in the battle for the Pixan, wich we won, while we were greatly outnumbered ! (surf.to/twobombs) The chief ISS commander did issue the order for all hyperspace jump-points, we also saw the patrols moving in on these sensitive duties, but *we* as a collective forgot that the *is* a flux-field in our own solar system ! Here is a piece of the log: Commander ! I am picking up an encrypted Gammulan subspace transmission, aimed not Gammulan territory, but into our system ! Navigator, set course to that signal, and warn Cmd. Junkkarri. Sir, that signal comes from the flux-field, and I can't relay a message to our base, commander! Hold on tight, we're going in ! Sir, the signal is getting stronger ! Engage Cloacking-device ! computer voice-over : Cloacking Device engaged Set shields to 50%, close down *all* weapon systems, *and* launch-bays. Sir ! I'm picking up a visual on the Nav-Comm computer ! Put it on screen Silenly we watched the Navcomm, as the screen got with red dots, and Vespurian and Gammulan ships were indentified. Sir ! We've got to get out of here, they must be a whole fleet by now ! Those Vespurian must have got some sort of technique to get a whole fleet into and out of the flux-field! All shields at maximum! No PTA or IOD, just shields, whe're going to get out of here ! -- end log <RP>

<RP> <crackle> Command acknowlegded, Commander Junkkari ! <crackle> --- subspace transmission ends ---- <computer voice-over> The Transmission was ended due to the high velocity winds in the Flux-Quadrant at Jupiter <RP>

</RP> With the Cloack-shield engaged we will come to the Insurgents in the darkest of space. Where they thought to be far away from Galcom's grasp, we where send to do the retalliation for them. Beware, we know how to use our vessles in the stealth of space. We are the Elite! <RP> Cmdr. TwoBombs, GCV Aurora II, Orion Fleet [This message has been edited by twobombs (edited 11-14-98).]

<RP>- "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe." "Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, I watched C beams glitter near the Tan-Hauser gate."
