I was thinking along the lines of since the OTS's are/should be touchy, a large enough explosion near them could set them off. also they would yield enough to crack open nearly anything in the area. It was however a last ditch effort do damage/destroy it, so even a remote chance was beter than none ------------------ Cmdr. I noticed the slowdown as well. unless the link hasn't been updated(which I sincerely doubt.)I have 2.09 final. I think it comes form the sheer number of craft and missiles on screen at once. once I leave the aera, it picks back up about the time the mission ends. in case your wondering, I haven't changed anything from the default config specs and my system is a PII350 with 192 megs of RAM and a 16 meg Diamond Monster Fusion AGP. ------------------ Cmdr. Commanders Log 3000.7.12 It seems the ruse has worked better than expected, Wraith fleet is still trying to find out what happened. With a little luck they will never know the real truth. Of course there will be ghost sighting of a ship similar to the Eclipse, and of course Galcom will be forced to investigate. Tac will be busy for the next few week trying to piece together what happened, and with enough scrutiny, he might just figgure out that the debris field was nothing more than some old Titanium II armor and a few startegically placed pieces of old machinery. If he stays near Zilon too much longer, something will have to be done. The only station with enough firepower in the sector is Sygan, and even then I couldn't risk sending it's complement to take the Usagi out and defend the station from an attack. On the other hand I do know one thing that might work. End Log. Encripted Transmission from ICV- Eclipse to Sygan. [rp on] GCV- Usagi Commander Tac Location: Barnard's Star Commanders Log 3000.7.12. After receiving a distress signal a few days ago, we have discovered a large debris field near Zilon. Until the commlog is retrived, we can only speculate on the identity of the ship. From studying several peices of the debris we retrieved, we have come to the conclusion that the field is the remains of a Galactcan class battle cruiser. I pray this is not the Eclipse. End log. Commanders Log 3000.7.14. The commlog has confirmed our worst fears, the Insurgents have destroyed the Eclipse. All hands will be listed as killed in action, even with the lack of human remains in the vicintity. Scans of Zilon indicate the wreckage of two shuttlecraft assumed to be from the Eclipses' complement. I have included the following exerpt form the portion of the comlog after a partial restoration. well, for now my ships motto is as written in my sig. My ships name comes from Star Wars. The resurected Emperor orderd the construction of a new flagship, the Eclipse, it was 16KM long and had a primary armament of a superlaser 1/3 the power of the Death Star.
