  1. [rp] The main turbo-lift doors opened to the food court area. The doors, opened, awaited the occupants inside. With a hard shove, the marine maneuvered the prisoner outside the lift, towards the empty tables within the food court. It was a grand, circular hall, with high ceilings. Several shops and resturants circled the plaza, many of which were closed, with very few people about. Five marines stood tall about a lone prisoner... the prisoner, hand-cuffed with molecular-energy restraints. The five marines separated, securing the area, as was their training, and stood at ease. The prisoner looked around his surrounding. It was better then where he came from, but he was still in chains, so it didn't really matter to him either way. They led him towards a collection of metal tables and made him stop. He was smaller the the marines around him. Much smaller. He had been born with an edge...though he couldn't recall it. It was lost to him...he couldn't remember... Half Human and half Gammulan, his natural appearance frigtened most humanoids...frightened those marines... Something to do with old age religions and demons, or some such nonsence. But he fit the bill, so he played the part...at least iinstinctively... They feared him, though he could not remember why. He had done nothing to them...or he could not remember... Five years in solitary confinement had changed his conceptions. Alone for so many years, he had learned a great many things. About himself, and about his place...but he did remember.. his ship destroyed, his friends dead..and yet he still lived..unable to find death...death avoided him...death hated him..this at least, he knew... He had learned much, yet knew nothing ..most of all, he knew nothing of this place..or why he was here...and why he was still in chains. The marine, closest to him, unlocked the restraints. Blood returned to his wrists with needle point sharpness. He rubbed them. Instictively, he lowered his center of gravity, not knowing why, but remembering...something. He stared at the marine..waiting... The marine stared back, gathereing the restraints and placing them in pocket of his battle uniform. Placing a 50 credit note of the metal table beneath him, the marine turned back towards the turbo-lift. The other marines ran to join him. Not a word was said. Shingen was free, but lost in a world he didn't comprehend... [/RP] Derek, if you don't want me here, then kill the post and ban me..leave everyone else alone. Otherwise, I'm going to join the community and RP here.
  2. Yeah, ol' Res' always got a bad rap. Mostly because very few prolly ever took him to a "playable" AI level of above 50. Which takes TIME and GAMEPLAY. Hell, none of the crew are worth their salt till they reach that level. Once ol' Res' (and everyone else for that matter) get a good footing in AI levels, I have very few problems with him (them). Still, I guess he makes a good patsy. But, being that the final responsibility falls at the feet of the commander, and they only do what you train them to..if you don't spend the time to train them, what's the bitch? Ultimately, you get what you play for.
  3. More common sense: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EQ1sg6GhZE. Dr. Paul questions Mr. Bernanke about the value of the dollar.
  4. I really think we are at a point in our history, similar to what happened in 1770-1778. We are now controlled, as a government, and as a country, by the rule of a small group of dominant men. We are no longer a country based on the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and "of the people, for the people, by the people". The institution of both a Marxist/Lennist world view, and a fascist police state, are swiftly becoming the American Reality. But, if you think about it, no one really give a crap anyway. Hell, most people I've talked to, canvassing for Dr. Paul, know more about Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton, then they know about their government, the US Constitution, or the Bill of Rights. Most people I've met haven't even read these essential documents! They've been conditioned to believe that governments actually create things. They have no concept of "appropriation"...or what that actually means to them. No concept of Keynesian economics, Fractional Reserve Banking or Fiat Currancy. No idea why or how this country has a 56+ trillion dollar debt, or who we "owe" those funds to. You'd be better off discussing the next Coporate Idol, then the destruction of American Sovereignty.
  5. I gotta say Derek, I really like this build. I don't know what you did between 2.30 and 2.31, but I like it. Admittedly, it's been awhile since I've played this game. My UC CD went bad awhile ago, but the last build I had installed was 2.30. That version was pretty stable, but it did still CTD on occasion. I gotta tell ya, this 2.31 build is rock-solid. I also got a pretty significant FPS increase. That might be cause I add some memory sticks tho. I've been playing this save for about a week 24/7 (dedicated machine), and the sucker is still purring along. I got a few questions though.. if u don't mind. I remember in 2.30, occationally the game would have an "information overload" for a few seconds where that game would go from 70-80 fps to .01-.05 fps, and kinda stutter. It didn't happen very often, but I do remember seeing it. I haven't seen it happen in this build yet. Was that just my kit, or was that something you finally resolved? Nullspace. Did you take nullspace out of this build? I've been flying around outside the "grid", looking for a nullspace sector to train in, but I haven't hit one yet. Is nullspace still there? Did you tweak the AI any? Seems marines/pilots are learning alot faster then I remember. Also BA/DF stats are actually rising! Yeah I know they would improve in 2.30, but damn, it would take forever! Now, I actually have pilots with 40-50 BA/DF stats. Granted, that equates to hell of alot of sorties, both space and land, switching pilots around from pilot to co-pilot, but still a marked improvment from what I recall. Anyway, this damn game has taken over my free-time again. Thanks for releasing it as Freeware. Peace.
  6. Any fleets want to RP here? Isn't that part of the mandate? BC RP is long overdue. Anyone here got the time, inclination or creativity? I do. Ideas?
  7. hehe not to start anything here..just a little trivia.. I remember me and Cc arguing who had been banned here the most at 3000AD. I think Cc had the record, but he kept changing his SN. I tried a couple times, but I've been Shingen too long to stop being who I am...sheesh, now that I think about it, I've been apart of this community for a long damn time..1998 BC3K 2.0... I miss Cc..he was kewl. What happened to Blades, Chavik, Aramike, Rattler? I miss the old RP days.. lots of good stories that... created the BC universe.
  8. Since I am again allowed to posted here, I offer you these ideas. "Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, simple minds discuss people". Eleanor Roosevelt. Anyone here not aware of the rEVOLution should wake up. The Future is calling and the Founders gave us the template..all we have to do is follow the Constitution, or abolish it...and become what we know in our core won't ever work..Marxist...Leninist..Elitist. Anything else is blatant hypocrisy. Ron Paul at Liberty University: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Freedom to Fascism Zeitgeist Money as Debt Please open your minds and release your pre-conceptions. Your Republic requires your activity! Yes I know he can't win, but it's NOT ABOUT DR. PAUL! It all about the rEVOLution! Peace to all and good will.
  9. I agree, and I stand corrected. I've always loved this game and I hold no grudges. Yeah Derek, I know. Some of us here aren't newbies.. thanks, but truthfully, now that UC is freeware, I'm happy with that. I've reged AWA twice, and now it says I have to reg it again.. screw that. I'm not interested. No offense. Any chance on letting players host freeware UC 2.31 servers? Seems to me a good basis to recruit/train fleet prospects for any future BC Online projects. But that's just me.. =)
  10. I will most certainly get banned again for posting here, but I noticed that Takvah was around so I thought I'd say hey. Live free or die, I always say. Indies Rule! =D Kudos to Derek for releasing UC as freeware! I knew he would. Plus my UC CD had long since went tits-up, so I am very very very glad I can reinstall this game. Best damn tactical space-sim ever coded. I bought UC-AWA, but I got no codes, so it won't loadup. Go figure. So, I've been playing BCM-G for the last few years. =) What happened to BC Online? OK I'm leaving now, where was that air-lock again?
