Hello all the master lurker reappears for a short intermission. I have a 1 year old son. Before he was born my wife and I had a very serious discussion on the this very topic. This procedure was done to me at a very early age (2-3 week after birth) of course in 1976 this was the normal thing to do and my mother didn't think twice about it. With my son I did a lot of research and from that I was really close to saying no I didn't want him to be "Cut" because I felt that there is no real reason anymore to have it done. But, I came to relize that in this American society if your are different in anyway you become ridiculed because of it. I went through a difficult childhood because I was overweight, not overly so but big enought to get made fun of. Now if I was getting hounded because of my weight just think how they would react if they saw that I was "uncut" as well I just don't know how I could have handled it all. I really sat down and thought about this. I also wanted to make my son feel as normal around me as I am around him. If he were to see me unclothed and notice a difference in me compaired to him I know it would be a difficult conversation about it, especially since he would probably be very young and not understand everything I was saying. Overall, I had it done. The process went preatty smoothly. They did a local numbing and even though there was some cries from my son he went through the process really well. He was healed up within 2 weeks. I am not going to look back on this and regret because I felt I did the right thing. So my feeling in all this is if your in a society that has this procedure done I would do it just for the sake of keeping your son less of a target in their younger years. Also, if your "Cut" yourself think about that conversation that you might have to have with your son. I hope I am making some sense here I tend to babble a lot. =) -Enderlin

Ok I have a question in regards to this thread. Lets say that I am an Old Fart that didn't want to go the military route in my younger years. What I did instead was get an education and establish a career which had allowed me to live a very nice life. Now that I am retired I am having alot of ideas I would like the government to change. Would I still be able to join the military life at lets say 65+ and still be able to gain my "Voting Rights"? From what I have read and heard in the past most people that do vote regularly are people 35+. Youth tends not to really care about government affairs and such until they get older and become more wise. Also, wouldn't this sort of system really drain the government income? I just don't see how it could be economically feasible to support such a large force of military personal especially durning a period of peace.

Hello all, I have a simple question regarding this. How are you going to continue support for 3000AD? If someone were to go out and buy a bargain bin version of the game and came to this site and tried to ask a few questions or needed some technical support how would they go about doing this? -Enderlin

I can't believe anyone would do this and think they can get away with this!! I just heard on the radio that a Gihad group has taken credit for this tragedy. I didn't get the actual group name but, they said it just came in so i'll have to listen more. -Enderlin

I understand releasing the Scripts and stuff and the Quote covers that but, the last sentence states that the SC was planning on releasing source code in an upcomming book he is writing?? All I can say is if he is releasing it with an upcoming book then by golly thats gonna be a BIG book. He He -Enderlin PS. Ack! I just read the GNN. Lum the MadThere is a story about our beloved SC and his wonderful game he is about to release to this thought deprived world. It seems Lum is thinking this new version of "The Game" is going to turn out like the original. Either that or he is very wary of "The Game's" ability to pull its weight. The reason I bring up this website is because it seems Lum has been making pot shots at the SC for the past 2 weeks now. Okies if all your data is still on the Hard drive but, is still giving you the non-system boot error it might be that your System files got wacked somehow. You can easily fix this by putting in your boot disk and typing. sys c: That will copy the boot disks system files onto the C Drive. One thing to note though. You need to have a boot disk that was made with your operating system. So if you have win95/98 installed make sure you use a win95/98 boot disk. Give that a shot and see if that works. =) -Enderlin

Just got my PC Gamer Mag today and was shocked to see on page 21 an AD for BCM! It looks like Electronics Boutique is going all out on us! Included in the AD is a $10 Mail-In Gift Check too when you purchase the game. I am soo excited, this means that the game is just that much closer in coming out! Anyhoo back to Lurking. -Enderlin
